Can we appreciate the fact that Venom was able to defeat Carnage while suffering from the symbiote equivalent of malnutrition?
This carnage has to be the weakest carnage ever created
There minor details that really show the differences between Venom and Eddie and Carnage and Cletus. Venom and Eddie clearly work together in the fight scene and Eddie even gives Venom a pep talk when he doesn't get up. Not only that, but Venom even does everything he can to make sure Eddie doesn't die, as you can see when they fall from the top of the church, whereas Carnage doesn't seem to care whether Cletus lives or dies. Doesn't mean much, I know, but these details are just so fun to spot and talk about

I think what makes Venom different from other symbiotes, and hence why he's a loser, is that he takes the symbiotic bond to heart. Especially when he finds such compatibility with someone.

One fan criticism I do get is that Cletus and Carnage actually are a perfect match in the comics, but then I can also see why it was changed for this movie cause they wanted to make Eddie and Venom come out that much more as heroes by showing how much more perfect their bond is, especially after having them have a big falling out for much of the movie to come together again at this moment.
I get what they were wanting to go for here is all I'm saying.
I'm sorry, the let there be carnage line feels so out of place. It looked cool but the line was just not the right time he could've said something else.

As a plot point for the film, it works quite well, but I kinda resent the fact that they made Carnage not a match with Cletus because it throws out the entire reason comic Carnage is a threat to Venom, that his bond with Cletus is so strong that they view themselves as one single entity rather than a symbiote (which is why, in the comics, he says "I am Carnage" rather than "We are Carnage" like Venom and Eddie say "We are Venom")

First Eddie, Anne, Dan, Cletus, Mulligan, Shriek, Venom, and Carnage, Destroy an entire Cathedral.... Literally while it was being developed.
And Soon after this; (Tom, Andrew, Tobey) Which - Peter 1, 2 and 3... along with their plethora of villains destroy an entire construction of a new monument addition for the Statue of Liberty.
Damn... these people leave such a mess...

Oh funny I literally just asked the same question! Like she said, "Baby, that's too much. You have to stop him (Carnage symbiote)." Like if that's what she was trying to say, & clearly they looked at some source material for movie, then boy they didn't pay attention to Maximum Carnage or even more modern Deadpool vs Carnage at all. There were a number of reasons I didn't see this 2nd installment.
Ignoring the fact too that Carnage/Cletus took Anne who they said they were going to kill in front of Eddie/Venom but then goes thru a whole "elevator into air" scene for drama purposes?
She probably just wants the cop dead,and that's it for the killing with her.
Up to that point, they'd been killing people who wronged them or tried to recapture or get in there way.
Anne was not a threat, and they already had Venom/Eddie. So there was no point to lilling her.

What I don’t get is why Carnage isn’t a good match. In the comics Carnage and Cletus are the most symbiotic pair
Because the show must go on
in the comics there is no real separation between the two. its impossible to tell where one begins and the other ends because they have bonded on such a level. that's why it took Sentry to finally kill Carnage. I'm sure he'll be back because no one dies in comics.

@@user-lj1nl3ml4i yea as far as I remember Eddie was in the same prison as Cletus. When breaking out venom unknowingly left a part of him that bonded with Cletus, creating carnage. Since Cletus is a maniac this caused carnage to become one himself as symbiotes take the most power and personality from their first host (in Venoms case this was Deadpool btw)
I hope Andy Serkis can redeem himself as a filmmaker with the new ANIMAL FARM movie
Can someone tell me why Shriek is saying, "That's too much?" Seems like it's in regards to Anne. And even though the scene isn't cutting itself completely missing some other interaction point to lead her to saying that to Cletus, it feels like it was. I didn't watch the movie for a number of reasons.
There was never as much “carnage” in Cletus’ murderous “campaign”, he killed many yes but never took an effort to destroy like Carnage does

that was honestly one of my problems with this iteration of carnage. I'd expect the symbiote to be as crazy as cletus, hell cletus wasn't that crazy like in the 90s animated show. If by some miracle they were to do carnage again, Im expecting a rated r film, cletus to be the most insane individual you could find, have carnages voice be high pitched with a crazy laugh and have carnage and cletus be one entity. The design of carnage is ok. I just wished that he could stay the same size as venom

I hate how they got carnage’s visualization to a tea but they absolutely fumbled his characterization, I mean when the hell has Cletus ever said he’s not crazy? And why aren’t Cletus and the symbiote nearly perfectly bonded? And why does carnage keep telling shriek to shut up? Carnage is totally into that sorta thing, I can’t describe how much I don’t like these movies. To me the only good thing is their carnage design, everything else just feels so subpar especially given the pg 13 rating stopping it from being a bloodbath which it should have been, I mean where’s carnage just shoving someone into a wall? These movies portray these characters’ personalities and abilities so uncreatively it’s like the only thing they know about these characters is what they look like and that they’re aliens. Like venom, what’s the deal with the constant bickering? I can’t stand it, I hate bickering, and to see one of my favorite Spider-Man villains/friends turned into an old married couple just disappoints me. And the worst part is, the salt in the wound, is everyone loves these movies so much! And I’m just over here bein the only one who hates these movies with a passion.
