Watch the video on tik Tok of a dog nearly drowning. Immediately came here after realizing I wouldn't know what to do in that situation. Thanks for this.
I did the exact same thing lol it was about that dog fell ithat fell in a pool in Tennessee and the woman saved him I watched that it scared the s*** out of me and I came here too
I am so grateful, my dog went swimming in salt water and consumed alot of salt water.. she was not breathing well and was getting a wheeze hrs later, so i did what you said by holding her upside down and she coughed up mucus a few times of froth, she then had a bounce in her step, still need to monitor her though, if not well in the morning I will get her to the vet!
Wow...this is so helpful. I honestly didn't know there was a first aid type of protocol for a dog potentially drowning. Does this happen more with senior dogs or dogs not used to the water.... 🤔 Our sweet senior used to beg to go swim and now they're like, "get me out of here!" So we don't bother with water play now but I wondered if they get tired much faster and don't want to drown?! Thanks for the video and channel!
What I would give to have 4 months back. Had 4 beautiful puppies - one mom and 3 3 1/2 year old puppies. My most beloved - ChewyBear is now gone. He fell into my daughters KOI pond. Water only to waist but half was too mucky to see in. I heard a scared YELP and looked out on my deck. 3 dogs were there - so of course I knew all 4 were there - just being noisy. I hate myself for not checking further. My husband had come in and not check that they were all there and ChewyBear had not come in with him. 2 hours later I realized he was missing. I don't know if he could swim. He never got the chance/ A bunch of pool filter equipment fell in on top of him and he couldn't get free. I could have saved him. I would have gone towards to pool first thing. He yelped - I should have gone looking. He was in the water for 2 hours. The vet said there was nothing we could do. Half Poodle half Maltese. I love him so much - I miss him so much. I still cry. I know people CPR and would repeat it but no good.
My 13 year old lab passed away. He was a great swimmer he would go in and out of the pool whenever he felt like it. I was 50 feet away from him when he suddenly passed in the pool. My other dogs started barking and I looked at the pool and noticed him idle. It was the most terrible thing to see. I immediately jumped in got him out and started CPR. It was too late, he was gone. I was alone and didn’t have any help. I’m shaken up by it. It happened yesterday morning 😭. I wish I could have saved him
I wrapped him with a towel too. He was so cold 😭. When I knew there was no more that I could do I just laid next to him on the pool side hugging him and crying 😭.
