The best faith-based films are ones that depict real people and events. "Cabrini", "C,S, Lewis, The Reluctant Convert," "The Chosen,", "Jesus Revolution", "Sound of Freedom," "The Amazing Grace", "The Journey", "Chariots of Fire", "The Hiding Place". I wonder what others feel about how compelling the contemporary story is. Also, I am interested in thoughts on how 2024 audiences react to the musical numbers. Are there thoughts on the casting choices for Pilate and Herod? I encourage followers of Christ in the faith-based film movement to view, or reconsider, my recommended titles and move the bar further than these profound movies did.
Halfdome (Is this name from Yosemite? We loved visiting there.) I also love your film choices. We hope to provide reviews of new movies coming out but also older movies too. Some like you suggest are worthy of revisiting and get lost in the clutter of so many movies available now. What we are seeing is that the quality of faith films is going up. Musicals are not doing as well in theaters but streaming services are giving added life and finances to them. Millions of people are watching streamed movies. Thank you for your comments and suggested movies. If. you have the chance to check out The Ark and the Darkness only in theaters March 20 and 21 check it out. This is a more of a documentary but done in a way that is both informative and engaging. It is like going to a workshop for 1 and a half hours and gives you the feeling of being better having watched it. Same, the preview gave no indication that it was a musical. I was pretty disappointed. The storyline was great, but it’s more than a little weird when some dude goes to watch a musical by himself

I was hoping to see a review on the movie Cabrini
I am attending a conference right now and was in Hollywood last week. I liked Cabrini but want everyone to know there are three surprises surprises. I watched this already and will try to upload my review Monday or Tuesday. Blessings David If you write me I can share the 3 surprises as I don't want to list my spoilers here with out a warning. Saw this last night - thought is was like the typical Christian movies - very disappointing, in my opinion. I thought the writing was contrived and the music uninspired. I was NOT expecting a musical - and it was no Superstar or Godspell, just saying.
