  • Jeff Jackson's busy off-season continued earlier today after making another deal with an Eastern Conference team.
The Edmonton Oilers acquired Roby Jarventie from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for former first round pick Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson. Jarventie played seven games in the NHL after coming over from Finland in 2021. Bourgault, on the other hand, hadn't played a game in the NHL since getting drafted in 2021.
Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin, who returns to the show today, will break down this morning's trade on Oilersnation Everyday. Want your thoughts on the show? Leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Greta Bar YEG RUclips live chat throughout the program. They strongly encourage you to interact with them throughout the program and other Nation Citizens in the RUclips live chat.
Later in the program, the guys will grade Evan Bouchard based on his regular season and playoff performers. Bouchard had the best year by an Oilers defenceman not named Paul Coffey. The Oilers defenceman finished with 18 goals and 82 points in 81 games, which he followed up with a strong playoffs, scoring 32 points. With that, how would you grab Bouchard's season?
Also on the show, they'll talk about Zach Hyman's Golf Tournament that is happening right now. That'll lead into today's Sherwood Ford GIANT Question, who is your dream group of Oilers to golf with.

I called it, the Xavier pick was such a waste, at a time when we already have enough forwards, they should’ve drafted the goalie Wallstedt instead

@@aston718 ..I was referring more to you saying who they should’ve picked. There aren’t many first rounders that are viewed as guaranteed, “knock it out of the park” picks…especially goalies.

True but i vividly remember because Cossa was undisputed 1 and Wallstedt was not far behind. Two highly rated goalies vs a small winger with very low chance of making an impact, wasn’t rocket science

Jesper Wallstedt was the player we should have selected, this player is the real deal

Well yea I mean we don’t need him but his trade value is crazy we could easily use him to package a bad contract if needed😂 and also @oilersnation not defending Tyler wright but when bourgault was drafted he looked like a stud he just couldn’t translate his games to the pros but that’s a risk when drafting high scoring forwards from the Q especially if there undersized. The reason this trade happened was Jeff Jackson looked at our prospects and saw we have quite a few small prospects which means we need to get bigger having a guy like this who put up 20 points in 22 gp in the AHL on a team that was worse than the Condors is definitely a Win.
