    Myspace was actually really popular 10 years ago but as the years went on it started to fade out, just like Instagram and Snapchat will do one day.

      MoMo I hate ig and snapchat. What is the purpose exactly? To show that instead of spending quality time with friends you're gonna take stupid pics and send them to people you don't know? I'm old maybe that's why.

      Snapchat, when used as it is proposed to, is really fun to use. As for Instagram....today it is just a smaller Facebook. It lost it main pourpose and now people only use it for the numbers of likes and followers

      That's probably the reason MySpace lost out to Facebook. Whenever you go on to someone's myspace page, it was usually dark, very loud, and way too many photos of chicks in bikinis. That network was for teens. Facebook won out cause it was cleaner and appealed to everyone.

  • @voyan38

    • @CincinnatiNick25
      @CincinnatiNick25 7 лет назад +9

      I honestly don't think so. There are over a billion users. It's as common as RUclips or Google. And same thing with RUclips people thought it would die out too. What is one of the first things when we meet someone new. We Facebook them, or when we are trying to get in contact with a friend or relative. Facebook is a way to connect. Where MySpace was more of a hit amongst teens Facebook appeals to EVERYONE. that's why your mom, aunt, grandma, sister, girlfriend brothers etc have it. It is much more uncommon for someone not to have a Facebook. Facebook is as common as Google or RUclips it's the most popular way to connect with our friends and family in terms of social media and I don't think it's going to die out for a long time. It's been consistent for 10 years now

      When you use AdBlock you aren't supporting creators which hurts everyone. YT red is a compromise where RUclips pays a portion of your monthly fee to each channel you watch based on frequency. If you use AdBlock they don't get anything, and effectively, is kinda stealing. Ads suck, but I'd recommend you at least disable it for channels you like.

    Myspace might have feld, but it was the first to really kick of the social media boom. Musicians got their start there. Remember going to a musicians page to hear their music. for those of you that are 29 to 33 y'all remember the dopest shit was making your own profile. Some of us tried to out emo each other.
    Nostalgic is how I feel now about it cause I was a teenager when it was popular and when I saw Facebook take over. I mean it's crazy to witness the rise and fall of one place and the rise of another. Fuck I feel old now.

    I wouldn't call Yahoo! Answers as a "social network," but damn I miss it. In the early days, either people post troll questions, or just absurd ones. Nevertheless, it was funny. I would usually log on when work was slow and I would answer legit questions that I reached level 6 out of 7. College students would contact me to do essays (for profit) on engineering, military, and history. A few years later, there was more moderator to delete stupid, racist, spam...etc. Then, Yahoo terminated it all together. It was great. WM you should do a video on the best/worst questions and answers. You have two video ideas right there.

    You mentioned in another video that MySpace was too personable, which made some profiles very difficult to read. And it's worth mentioning the annoying music that would start automatically. The old Myspace is what a lot of people miss. You used to be able to choose a layout on Myspace. People had a Top list for favorite friends; you used to be able to add a music playlist. You could put RUclips and Myspace videos on your profile. The problem with Myspace now is that it's not appealing to people. The changes to the social media site is not what people like. If they were to bring back the old Myspace, it would be destroying FB in the number users and more people would be interacting with people. FB have the most users because everyone know what everyone is doing because they post on their timeline for everyone to read.

    I ABSOLUTELY miss MySpace, I was an 8 year old black girl teaching myself coding! I manipulated my profile's cursor and all antics, made my own layouts! Raining iPods..... Until the age of 13 I logged on every fking day. I even got a comment reply from Billy Talent when they got "hacked".
    Now I'm just a useless 27 year old stuck in a warehouse and no means to meet new people. I don't like Facebook, I cannot customise my profile and Facebook was the leading cause of many mental illnesses especially since it was just created to pry on the social status of female collage students.. Ever since MySpace dipped, and Vampire Freaks finally turned into an online store for amaziiiiing shit, I've grown bored of joining sites where I cannot express myself in small ways. Myself is very irrelevant compared to what's actually going on in this world, anyway.

    I still think the 1 thing MySpace got right, that Facebook could but never has figured out is the blog subscription feature. All you had to to was subscribe to the band/artist/person's blog, and you'd get a message every time they posted an update, new song, etc. The Facebook Feed doesn't work even close to that well, littered with way too much crap and of course *Sponsored* posts, etc.

    is true that Google Plus now succeeds however as far as we all know it definitely took a lot of Dirty Work, forcing RUclipsrs to own an account to comment, upload, and make money. RUclipsrs then made the Bob's Army, however as far as we all knew it failed miserably when you Google thought about a more powerful copyright policy which would put down lots of popular accounts put down and put companies out of business, thankfully that copyright policy was cancelled, all users had to do was just put the Bob's Army down, RUclipsrs would just have to get used to Google Plus, overtime owning a Google Plus is no longer required. do remember though Google Plus is still very popular and actually managed out beat Facebook with advertising, there are still a lot of active communities on Google Plus and companies actually really appreciate the social media. the whole celebrity thing with Google plus is completely useless.
