Watching videos like this helped me calm down with my last child. Woman are so strong with what we have to go through in the build up to labour and during it. The moment the baby is here, all is forgotten and only love is felt. So proud of you Robyn! Being a mama of 1 child or 4 😋 we should always help each other by sharing our experiences. Lots of love😷😍😘
Thank you so much Alana
Labour is extremely painful but enjoyed my moments at the maternity wards
Hey Robyn 🥰
New subbie here
Really love hearing this kinda content.
Great video R❤ Cancelled my medical aid TWO months before I fell pregnant cos I felt it was no use (I never ever get sick) now due in December and have to go the public hospital route😫 the clinic I go to currently is in the same state as the one you went to and it gives me sleepless nights yho!! I'm really hoping by God's grace I can atleast get admitted at a public hospital rather.. thanks for sharing 💮
Hi Siya 🌸 thank you so much for the feedback. Omg, that is how Murphy's law works, but congratulations on your bundle of joy, wishing you a safe and healthy pregnancy and a calm birth experience. xx
I'm due in end April May, will give birth in Tygerberg I pray it all goes well 🙏🙏🙏
Congratulations on your pregnancy!! Xx. I'll be keeping you in my prayers I'm sure it will go well. Sending you love and light x
Also giving birth at Tygerberg in January 2022, first time so I'm beyond nervous and so scared 😨
Glad all is well with you and baby❤️
😂😂 when labour truly kicks in you can't text or talk on the phone.
LOL so true, it's a struggle to even think during Labour hehehe xx
Lovely video.
Thank you very much!xx
Dude.. In my country women give birth on dirty/bloody sheets. Some patients have no assistance, no epidural. Nothing. My sister literally gave birth on her own, the baby almost slipped off her hands. I Thank God that everything went well and my nephew is very healthy.
God is good
Hi Nossyta, wow i'm so sorry to hear she had to give birth under those circumstances, Governments really need to make a plan that they provide people with adequate health care no one should have to give birth like that. However, God is really good so happy that despite all those challenges she was okay as well as your nephew.Congratulations on becoming an aunt xx
My word! Which country are you from? Thank goodness the experience ended well for her.
Update ladies: gave birth on mother's day 🥰🥰🥰😂😂can't even express how grateful I am to the almighty for my sweet baby girl🥰🥰 Angel came at 3.1kgs pushed her out after 18 hours of labour and 20 minutes pushing. Anyway back to my experience, I have birth at Tygerberg hospital, best hospital so far. They had hot water/showers , warm meals, emergency pads, diapers and certain necessities, and some friendly staff. The night midwives wives from admissions were rude old bullies who seem to have recruited the younger staff to being also bullies🤦 so when you get the expect anything. And oh, I got Shout to TBH . Prayers to all expecting mothers hope all goes well with your journey..now motherhood😅😅
Congratulations hun!! I am so happy for you on your little girl and it's great to hear that all went well. What a wonderful Mother's Day gift! Thank you for sharing about your experience at Tygerberg besides the rude staff it's lovely to hear that you received decent facilities with warm food and necessities. Wishing you all the best on your journey of motherhood. xx
This just makes me strong
Which hospital did you give birth at?
I have birth at Mitchell's Plain District Hospital hun x
@@robynbrittow5630 Am giving birth at Macassar , don't you know how it is that side?
@@antoviniajudeenphilander3099 Hi Antovinia, unfortunately, no I have no knowledge as to what it is like on that side however, it should pretty much be the same across the province. Congratulations on your pregnancy btw xx
you're definitely right about investing on a medical aid
Hi what was the weight of your daughter?
Hi There, she weighed 3,9kg
which province were you in?? i wanna ask for hospital name🙈...some districts dont allow partners at all
Hi Momo, I'm in the Western Cape. It was Micthell's Plain District Hospital.
@@robynbrittow5630 thank you,im in Wellington hope it goes well😂
@@morongwamoeketsi5284 ahh thats a bit far but I'm sure it will all go well just be prepared for no epidural in case but otherwise you'll do great - request beforehand if your partner can be in the delivery room so that you know what to expect. Wishing you all the best of luck for your birth and congratulations on your bundle of joy. xx
@@robynbrittow5630 I am happy about the no epidural part shame...I do not have a kid but I do not like the idea of an epidural for me personally.
Cute😊
New subbie ❤❤❤
I had no problems giving birth to all three of my kids at public hospital don't do epidural and enjoyed my midwives
That's wonderful to hear Keanon, I'm so glad you had a wonderful experience xx
Why is it that the public hospitals don’t allow partners in
Hi Andreyya, I am not too sure. My partner was allowed in the ward once I was in active labour. Maybe different provinces have different regulations? I think they should allow partners in from the moment you are in labour their support is so vital
Most of the time there are limited resources and the wards are a lot fuller and smaller so they usually don’t allow partners because they can’t accommodate partners.
It's the same here in Botswana, i believe it's because you have to share a ward with others before active labor. I got to the hospital at midnight and my husband didn't want to leave so they told him to sleep in the car 😂😂😂😂 (Which he did). He was allowed in every now & then the next day obviously for visiting hours only then around 10pm i felt i couldn't do it alone cause the night staff were terrible, i went out to get him & i bit off every nurses head who tried to oppose. At this point i didn't give a shit cause they were refusing to attend to me saying they'll only see me at midnight, imagine. Now because there were other ladies in the ward they then took us to a private room (the delivery room). Like you guys, you don't share this one that's why your birth partner is allowed in. They realised that my bladder was full, my urine filled 2 trays, it nearly raptured & this was delaying labor cause my son kept pushing against it & couldn't pass. Mind you i had reported to these nurses that i couldn't pee at 6pm, thats why i forced my husband in cause i told him they were trying to kill me (😂😂😂😂 The drama). Anyway, immediately after draining my urine i dialated so fast & gave birth. My son was born at 4am & slept til 7pm, my poor baby was exhausted & our attempts to wake him up to feed all failed. We let him be and he woke up later that night to feed. Expecting a little girl this time & we're definitely going to a private hospital this time...
@@lauramannathoko7991 well done mama bear! Your presence of mind to fight for yourself and your baby is remarkable!
@@thanditwetwa4167 Thank you love, even gave birth today 😂
I can't believe they gave you 2 panados. 😳😭
It did nothing for me honestly hehehe
😂i understand about shooting a video then being interrupted by traffic😂so not cool
Yoh 2 panados 🙈🙈🤣
Epidural is quite expensive that's why in government hospitals it's only administered to C/S patients. Personally i still wouldn't opt for it cause of it's effects, be glad you didn't get it...
Home birth could be an option
And I think it's cheaper 👍🏽
I am surprised that your boyfriend got to be there.
