Invisible players? DDoS'ers? This is very important and horrible for the game, especially since it's not like they're just in diamond lobbies where'd they go less noticed. They're literally in the top 100 winning against pro players. I'm not sure if it's an easy fix, but hopefully Epic/Psyonix notices these cheaters and cracks down soon.
they'd probably notice if someone still worked for their social media team or anywhere related to the game except marketing of new car skins

Okay, so I dont work for Epic, but I do work in internet security. My educated guess is that they are letting them continue to exist for a short time so they can figure out exactly how they are exploiting the game, and fix it properly, instead of just banning individuals, and leaving the bigger problem exposed.
Yeh epic does it a lot like this with Fortnite too I’m pretty sure. They wait till they know what’s happening then hit everyone with a massive ban wave and fix it all at once. They better do it soon tho
But this has been an issue for years. Fuck, the invisibility hack is a plugin you can just open and activate in the game. And surely they're not so behind in investigating these things that it takes them YEARS to understand. Right? Because these issues haven't just become a recent issue. They've been around. There are videos reaching back years talking about this.

Man DDOSsing really sucks. Why are epic doing nothing?

It's a mass wave thing but its also really hard to do something about it. Back when siege had the problem it also took them a while to get it to a point that it doesn't work, but what really killed it off was when they took 5 people to court over it. Once real consequences happened everyone got scared and most stopped doing it.

@@xxkillergamesxx6759 don't get me wrong im not saying they care, I'm just also saying that as someone who went through this a lot in siege it takes a while to fix something like this. it's also not smart to just ban a player that immediately does this, because it makes it significantly easier to tell the hackers whats getting them caught, and rl is free (the main reason this stuff blows up) so even if they just ban the person it takes like an hour to make a new account and start doing this all over again.
Had DDOSers in champ just yesterday too. It's not just the top ranks, it's a problem everywhere. I literally got banned from matchmaking once because the game disconnected me, and when I tried to rejoin, it said the match had concluded even though my teammate was still in the game.
Yup, I've seen a couple in diamond lately... I never have ping issues and was spiking to over 800 in a couple games last week...

I had this while playing with a friend - we were one goal down with a minute left, having come back from 2 down, and they were obviously worried and did something that disconnected both of us at the same time. It wasn't our connections because we were using a separate app for voice chat and our voice chat continued without problems throughout. The game didn't end despite us both being disconnected (still in the game but with the flashing disconnected symbol), it started working again but of course they had scored while we were unable to do anything. It might not be DDOS if it's so common even in lower ranks, there might be some other exploit that has been discovered.
I’ve had the game freeze and kick me then ban when I rejoin. I email epic every time, but they return the email the next day. I didn’t realize the DDOSers are in plat as well.
This game quitting happens at least once every session and after the ban (that’s not my fault) I just stop playing for the day.

When I started I pretty much chose rocket league to play because it was difficult to hack/cheat. This needs to be fixed and would have been in the early years
If more than 50% of a players opponents have > 200 ping, it should raise the account for manual review.
If 90% have > 500 ping, auto-ban.
Or they could just look at the leaderboard and clearly see who is DDOS'ing or wintrading like the average diamond player is capable of doing
honestly every report should be manually reviewed. even if it's for cursing. just have the reporter type what they are reporting about and what time in game it happened. if the report is false give that person a 5 min ban. and if they dont type any info just ignore it. (edit) obviously if it's not a false report then ban the other player for the allotted time.
DDoS is a pretty simple fix. They can very easily detect if its occurred and simply dont add or subtract any mmr from the players. They may still kill the game but they gain nothing and you lose nothing. This is just Epic being lazy and not listening.
They probably won’t implement it very well and it will make more exploits for free mmr or something I reckon
the easiest fix for this is to simply not give mmr for either team when a server goes down. there are some downsides to this but at least it will stop ddosers from versing people above their skill level

Not gonna work because the server does not go down. If it did, the hacker would only have a 50:50 chance to get a win which isn't achieving anything in the long run. I don't know how they are doing it, but I do know that they don't get disconnected from the server, or at the very least can guarantee to get disconnected later than the opponents
Server doesn’t go down, essentially what they are doing is denying your IP access to that server, usually through some sort of TCP flooding method.
It’s not the server. They are sending packets to their opponents ip. If they made the change like you said, if someone is losing all they have to do is just disconnect their internet to get kicked out and not lose mmr. Definitely not the way to do it. Unfortunately it’s hard to just say someone is hitting people offline with no real proof. Even though it’s obvious to us.
I played a game a long time ago that did this exact thing and it was awful. What happens if you're a ddoser and start losing? Just ddose so you never lose mmr. It takes longer to gain but you can never lose.
Someone ask Riot if they want another gem of a competitive game that no one cares about.

epic cares more about rocket racing then they do rocket league. they only see rocket league as how to make money from it, not how to improve it
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Epic spent a lot of money on Psyonix, so according to Epic everyone's job as Rocket League players are to buy credits and contribute to the return on their investment, not give them more work to do. They don't care, and you need to understand very clearly that they will never care. You might as well plead your case to a brick wall. Epic yearns for the day that this game breaks even so they can shut the servers down and liquidate Psyonix to focus full time on their actual winning child, Fortnite. Oh, not Fortnite PvE, because they also treat it like their doormat, I meant Fortnite PvP, the only actual one trick pony they want to put money into. Oh you think I'm wrong? That maybe there's hope? Exactly how much hope was drained after the layoffs? Or as each day passes since "Let's talk about the game we love." How much hope you got left after dropped $20 on a single item?
In squishy's road to SSL, he was up by one around gc2 and lagged until they were up by one and the lag stopped. It was hilariously obvious.
In Mertzy's recent video, he played an invisible player. Insane how all these cheaters pop-up in content creator videos nowadays. And still no action by Epic.

Why there is no security on the private IP's of players? This sounds like such a big blunder, tech wise. Anyone can just hack into my private freaking network and sends a load of traffic to make my game lag? Epic games is a big fkin joke
I’ve known Vistrial since S1, we were always queuing games together to grind SSL in extra modes (mostly rumble, hoops and snow day) but I will say it’s a shame to see him resorting to cheating now.
He was genuinely a skilled player, he would averaged at GC3 in 2s every season, so I don’t really know what’s made him to start cheating.
We stopped talking in S6 when I quit playing RL, due to a major burnout. But I ran into him again recently in Rumble this season (as I’ve decided to come back to RL after a long break). He was playing invisibly, while using the “Psyonix Hackathon Winner” tag, it was quite a surprise to see him so randomly like this, I never thought he’d be one to cheat, especially someone who I used to queue with everyday, lol
That's interesting. Explains why he put up a fight against Jack before ddos. Maybe he's done with the game and doesn't care if he gets banned.

When we bumped into each other, he sent me a friend request and I accepted it, purely because we used to be friends in the past (just to be clarify, I had no plans to play with him again, as I wasn’t going to risk myself getting banned for teaming with a cheater).
But, after watching Jack's video, I decided to check his ranks. I see that he's only SSL in one mode still, which is rumble. His 1v1 rank is far from 1700 MMR, and the account has hardly been used since we last played together, which was 3 weeks ago.
My two guesses are... Either his account got banned, or he's creating multiple accounts, gets them to SSL rewards, and then sells before the ban wave comes in.
I was told that this cheat tool costs over £100 in total (if I remember correctly): £60 for the invisible car and £40 for all the tags, items, etc. So, getting one account to SSL rewards and selling it for over £100 is already a good profit, basically.
There’s a lot more I could say tbh, but I’d be here all night lol.

not really related to DDOS but everytime i get a server that starts with 767 i either get 50 ping with a flashing warning or 200 ping all game while my internet is fine. I really don't know what is going on with servers lately it's getting really boring tho

Here's some sobering news... Epic can't do anything about DDoSers. It has little to do with Epic's abilities as a software company, nor their supposed favoritism for Fortnite; it's a weakness in the very nature of the networking protocols that the internet is founded upon.
They can negate losses or gains of MMR but, or maybe just gains of MMR but regardless players will just use it so they never lose. There's *something* they can do. They can also detect when players win the majority of their games this way and ban them for it or something.

They actually have the information who does the ddosing. They should have access to their own network logs and should be able to see the packages sent between the two connected IP addresses. With this information it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out which player is the ddoser regardless of the which IP address is getting ddosed.
Conclusion, if they have this information, they can save the names of the players that gains mmr each time this happens in lobbies.
They might actually use a built in network solution from unreal and doesn’t have the knowledge needed to get access to this information.
Since they are this big they should regardless be able to collaborate with unreal to get this information..
last night a buddy of mine got lagged out mid game, he couldnt rejoin, and i still whopped that duo 7-6. however- its definitely happening at low ranks too

@@Salam2Aleikum Yeah, right, server issues just coincidentally affecting only all the members of one team at the same time when their internet connections are working fine for everything else. I don't think it's actually DDoS as that should affect all players if the server is DDoSd, but players are doing something to disconnect their opponents.

Its not just in top 100, its at the very least in diamond-champ lobbies that there's ddossers. Havent seen any invisible cars yet but its not just a small minority of players getting these games
Obviously Epic is aware of this, but just like when Nexto bots were first being used in ranked, it took time for them to implement an update that fixed the problem, instead of just slapping a quick fix on that would just mildly inconvenience the cheaters at best. I know it sucks, but these things take some time to fix right.
Sometimes I just need to see Jack against lower ranked players to see his beautiful mechanics that he's depriving us from Lol. It's because he's playing against pros always that he needs to be more cautious and not commit to every ball. It's nice to see him playing the ball freely like that.

Had nexto bots often again as well nowadays. Probably people doing this to rank up smurfs to level 20+ so they can queue ranked. Possibly to cheat their way into top 100/get ssl rewards invisibly. So sad to see Rocket League in this state

with that, they attracted ALL SORTS of players. so whoever the DDOSSER is, that account doesn't matter to them and once it gets banned, they will move on to create another account. BECAUSE ITS FREE!
Company policy is generally to spread banwaves out pretty far apart...that way when they do happen, the cheaters cant point to a specific action that needs to change in order to keep cheating, and they are kept out of the game for even longer. That being said, smurfing doesnt look like it will ever be fixed so im still wondering if this is actually any worse for us non-pros

@@imonsteroids7748one of the only options is to ip/hardware ban or to put restrictions on how many accounts can be linked to one ip or device. It seems too harsh for something like smurfing tho.

I think what a lot of pros don't realize is that games grow and profit based on the casual player base which is the vast, vast majority of players. And while this issue does suck for pros, 99% of players don't deal with this. After all, who is going to DDOS a random Plat lobby to gain essentially nothing.
I think it would be great if all these issues were fixed but I would much rather Epic Games prioritize gameplay changes over policing the top 100.
If I were to guess, I'd bet it's not a DDOS, but one hell of an exploit. My guess to the reason why he's not banned is that Psyonix nor Epic (in Epic's glorious defense of their security in the past *cough cough*) can figure it out. Leaving him unbanned is how they can figure it out. Standard DDOS are generally relatively simple and have several detection methods, which makes me think it's an exploit in the game itself. So long as whatever that was can't get your personal info, then I wouldn't care. Is only game, why you hef to be med?
Epic has no shame, they don't care about this game since fortnight blew up. I had a customer service rep tell me they don't have time to respond to all the RL tickets bc fortnight is a bigger priority 😑. Also idk if it's a bigger problem in the lower ranks, I've been playing a few months now just recently hit gold 3 in comp 2v2, but every gold 2v2 tournament I enter I end up playing plat players, sometimes even diamond. Why are plat and diamond players in a gold tournament?? GG Epic

It sucks but honestly I think the reason they seem to not care so much is because this stuff is only happening seemingly around GC-SSL. Where very few players will experience it. Tough luck being good at a game lol Im having a blast in Plat 3 and Diamond 1 baby

Epic doesn't give 2 craps about RL. All they care about is childish fortnite. Ever since Epic bought RL it's tanked, hacking is now a thing, smurfing is incessant and they don't care at all. There is 0 competitive integrity, no effort given to prevent invisibility hacks and DDOS, tournaments and Esports are getting less prize pool and less attention. The best they've given us is very slightly raising the level required to play competitive which basically does nothing to prevent smurfs. They lay off the vast majority of the original team that made the game good in the first place. They give the community BS updates like reskinned maps and garbage temporary gamemodes that no one likes, and then hype up updates as if it's some major change and all they did was change the names of item rarities which yet again, literally no one asked for. It's a sad excuse of a game owner and literally anyone else would do so much better for this game.

I’m curious if there are some computer nerds in the comments hopefully y’all can answer this question but is it possible to play RL with a VPN turned on so it would decrease the chances of getting DDOSed by these cheaters? I’m curious on if it works or doesn’t, I’ll like to reads some explanations.
The same happened to a Hungarian player and youtuber called CokeHUN 2 years ago. Everyone who met the guy in the game reported him, even one of his followers sent RL Tracker statistics to Epic Games and the cheater got banned. You and players who have met him should do the same.

I had that happen to me in 2v2 GC1 multiple times... one player can play on perfectly fine and the other 3 just cant do shit with 800+ ping... i thought it was server issues tbh but this is just sad...
hope they notice it, cause its actually super easy to ban those accounts, and they could even sue them.
just check for a high amount of server crashes when a particular player plays on a server. done, ban

What Epic needs to do is to start IP banning players that have a large history of wins where their opponents disconnect.

I really didnt see a lot of smurfs and didnt understane the complains. But now its a nightmare. Nearly every team i played against d3 player did okay but those 2 other golds doing flop resets and stuff was insane.
Or it was just people getting some clips i suppose, because they ff a lot of times.
And the ddos, had that problem a few times on european servers.
Then played some games with my american friend on us east and we had a few games over a period of 6 hours with ddosing. Either everyone in the server had 700 ping. Or at some times people just got disconnected. Either just one of us or at one point both of us. Game now is not fun at all.

I don't get how killing server would help them raise on the leaderboard as both players will be kicked out and nobody gets any points? Only way to make this work would be flooding other players connection so only opponent disconnects, but to do so, it would be done by the server as it runs the game and opponents are not really "talking" to each other directly if I remember right from rocket league science videos.

bots are in lobbys too, god tier perfect flicks everytime and they are getting advanced enough to know how ariel efficiently. i played 10 games in a row in a casual lobby against these bots and i won once (im c2). me and my tm8 kept rematching bc we wanted to win and on the first game we was supposed to win and we got hit with a lag switch when i was about hit the game winning shot in overtime, which the bots were able to dribble across the whole field and hit a perfectly placed flick

Games dead asf so many fresh accounts even in high champ low gc lobbies boosting people and half the time some of these new accounts are solo queing and ruining everyone else's experience I'm so done with this game at this point what a fucking joke
