Jerusalem looks absolutely beautiful. The shops and the products are stunning! 😮 I would love to visit one day. Thank you Oren for your content. 😊🇮🇱✡️🇦🇺
I'm an israeli, worked as a policewomen in the old city and lived there for about five years, and I've never heard about half of these shops. Great work Oren, this video is great!
I received mine from The Razzouk Family this past May. I’m honored to have it for the rest of my life to represent my pilgrimage to Jerusalem and The Holy Land.
this is very moving - though I am not into tattoos I am so happy to see Coptic Christians in Yerushalim! and the fabric guy is a must-visit when I get to the Holy City and I must buy a talit from Yoseph - all of these people bring the bible to life and it is a joy to see so many nationalities together, very good work Oren✡✡✡✡
I loved this video!!! Amazing- I lived in Israel for two years and didn’t know any of this existed. I can’t wait to return and visit them with my Israeli husband. I’m definitely buying your app. Missing my time in Jerusalem at seminary. Next year in Yerushalayim! 🙏🏻🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
Hi Oren, I came upon your channel 2 days ago. I believe it was topic of what Jews think about Jesus. As a Christian I wanted to hear what they had to say. I have been watching a lot of your videos. Great content. I’m watching from 🇯🇲 Jamaica.
Oren, You are terrific! Precise, applicable information. Fascinating historical backgrounds to very interesting places. My daughter, Lisa, and I met you in Israel. You are very personable and you took my daughter's suggestion to make a video about good shops to visit. Excellent!
Absolutely brilliant, thank you. I'll never get there but I found this just amazing. To actually hear the shop owners, really felt as close to hands on as one could be without being there. Shalom from the UK ✨💛🕊️
Abu Khalif Bilal is a very special man… when I lived in Jerusalem as a fashion designer he was my resource for the best fabrics. A gentleman and fabric expert.
SHALOM OREN,,, TODAH TODAH!!!!!! GREAT VIDEO!! I HAVE BEEN IN THESE SHOP AT TIMES WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDES MY WIFE AND SON MAX LIKE TO LOOK AROUND AND SPEND MY MONEY ,,, BECAUSE OF YOUR VIDEO WE ARE GOING TO VISIT THESE SHOPS AGAIN ,,, THERE ALL GREAT!!!!!! TODAH!!!
This is one of the best videos you have ever posted. As a non religious traveler, my interest in Israel would be meeting people, visiting museums, eating and shopping. Oh, and probably more eating. 😎 More like this. Please. Special shout out to the fabric store and its owner. The colors! How I wish I could have felt the textures of those beautiful bolts! 👍
Now I have a new favorite video on You Tube! Thank you so much for this wonderful video. I will try to see if I can order something online from them. Thank you for your time and talent in doing this video and please thank these wonderful shop owners for telling us about their shops. I always learn something when I view your videos.
Historical note about the orthodox dress: The "new" charedim who came to Jerusalem in the 19th century wear mostly black and white. The ones who wear gold and white stripes are known as "Yerushalmim" (Jerusalemites) or "shalmers" in Yiddish slang. They lived in Jerusalem throughout the Middle ages, some even from before the Byzantine era. When the Arabs conquered, they started attacking Jews every so often, so they changed their dress to appear more like Arabs from a distance. The unique dress became a source of pride and tradition because only the Jerusalem Jews wore it, as the Hebron, Safed, Gazan... communities had their own outfit. Therefore, when eventually the Arabs changed their own dress the Jews stuck with it. (By then, the Turks were in control, and they protected Jews from Arabs for the sake of stability and the jizya tax.) Under the Ottoman Empire, Damascus was filled with Jewish textile merchants. When these merchants came to pilgrimage to Jerusalem, they traded with the locals. Hence the Syrian source. Also to be clear, only wearing the combination of linen and wool is prohibited in the Torah. Not, each one individually. Hope this was informational.
At 14:42 He showed the violet colored paint changed into blue after firing. It's like the tekhelet dye used to make tzittzit - it would start as violet and turn blue after being dried in the sunlight.
Thank you for this video (and the channel). These are exactly the kind of places that I would like to check out during my travels. Local artisans who care about what they do. A trip to Israel is definitely on the agenda and I will definitely use your channel as inspiration!
This is one of the best travel videos I've seen, not only is it nice to be able to see local people continuing traditions like this, but also to know where to go and support them. I think for tourists it can be difficult to navigate as there's so much information. I will be visiting these on my upcoming trip! Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video. I am one of those "older people" Wassim mentioned, who would never get a tattoo. I've been blessed to visit him 3x since 2017. My first tattoo utilized one of the 500yo stamps. I am amazed every time I look at his artwork on my ankles. I highly recommend a visit to Razzouk Tattoo, if only to see the old tools and stamps that are on display.
Thank you so much. I am here for a year and now it’s the last two months and I am still looking for something unique to bring home with me. I will definitely check out some of the shops.
THANK YOU Brother Oren - You always present Your Beautiful Locations that i feel like i am coming Home! How are You doing this? GOD bless You and Yours 💖👑💖🤗
Thank you I enjoy all your videos! I find them very informative, with all you have an understanding of what people in other countries want in terms of keepsakes and meaning behind all the different items. Idk if I will get to travel to Jerusalem b4 the rapture but if I do, I will come see you. Shalom and may the Good Lord bless and keep you!
What a gift you give to honor these talented people and all that came before them. I am very far from Israel, and yet was so touched by this video. In our Amazon and Walmart world, our "made in China" factory produced surroundings, its too easy to forget there are still generations of skilled hands that deserve the spotlight. Im especially in awe of the fabric. Had to pause vid and do screen shots just so I could expand it and really look close at the incredible detail. Wow
🇸🇪👋🇮🇱 Wow, this video was amazing. I just love to hear the experts talk about their craft. This made me want to book a ticket, just to walk in Oren's footsteps.
I LOVE how Bilal @7:18 is so familiar with his customers' needs and customs. If only, if only we all had such an appreciation for each other's customs and ways...This is one of your best videos..and this is saying A LOT because you make great videos!!
thank you for all your mega super videos. I have learned so much already. I will come to Israel next year for 8 months. And maybe I will get in touch with you before then, because I would certainly still have some questions. Best regards from Switzerland Dora Kunz

I've known about Bilal's shop for over a decade but that was the Best interview (or article) I've ever seen. I can't wait to visit.
He’s pretty cool huh?😁
