Did you see that guy in the still photo? It appeared he just strolled off the bus almost granny style under no big hurry at all. My platoon spent 3 weeks in the receiving barracks! It was the most hurried place I ever saw!
12 weeks full of fun and adventure…
I am a once upon a time USMC Staff Sergeant who stood on those yellow foot prints. Same for the DI’s in this video. It is a continuing wonder to me to consider the transformation that occurs after the shock of stumbling off that bus for everyone who earns the Eagle Globe and Anchor.
I keep waiting for Gunnery Sargent Hartman to show up
That was a movie. This is a nightmare.
Gunnery Sargeant Hartman (R Lee Ermy) was a marine and drill instructor in real life back in the late 50s early 60s. So you know it was brutal for him.
Unfortunately, the new corps wouldn’t allow someone like Gunny Hartman to show up, it’s becoming too woke.
They're using their own cellphones to make the arrival call? Interesting, it's usually wallmounted payphones in every other clip I've seen.
Look at those clean grapes! 😂
The must be paying extremely well to find so many guys signing up voluntarily.
Funny, those of us that went to Parris Island, always thought the first thing Hollywood Marines received were there sunglasses USMC '68-'72 Sgt. OORAH!!!
I went into MARINE CORPS. Bootcamp in December of 1987. The only time we saw WMs was when I served mess duty at H&S CO., at 4th BN, where the MARINE Female recruits were. We did not speak or have any interaction with them at all. When I arrived
When I arrived to PARIS ISLAND, MCRD, SOUTH CAROLINA on 28 DECEMBER, 1987, it was around 0200. We were kept up for a minimum of 48 hours without any sleep. I was delivered to 3rd BN, I CO. PLT. 3023. My series was the first series to go through the BASIC WARRIOR TRAINING under MARINE CORP. COMMANDANT GENERAL AL GRAY. BWT then became MCT later on. There was no stress cards, no time outs, no woke mindedness, straight up an ass whooping and if you couldn’t hack it then you would pack it up and be recycled or booted out of MARINE CORPS. BOOTCAMP PERIOD. This Military of today is a JOKE. They allowed politics to get in the way of our Country’s Military and with that is failure. With AI on the brink of existence our Military numbers are going to be replaced with AI.
I lost track of how many times I heard “Do you understand?” I don’t understand why, I just did.
Stepped on those footprints 28 yrs ago. Semper Fi
That’s crazy they just graduated it’s been 14 or so weeks
Things have changed. 1967 when I went thru 3 or 4 had been knocked down before you ever got to the hair cut. Lol and Nam was the real thing
Every other recruit got knocked down by the time our receiving DI's got through with their "greetings". Oh, and there never is/was a correct response to: "do you like me?" 😂. Not even a non-response(which I dumbly opted for). Good memories now but definitely not so then.
Wait…they’re allowing them to use their own smartphones to call their families during recruit drill training?!?!?…wow, didn’t even notice that 😯😏😌🤷🏾♂️
stepped on the yellow footprints MCRDSD 14Aug63 Plt.263 USMC 63-67
Me: December 13, 1956. MCRDSD. Best thing I ever did in my life. Semper Fi!!!

DI: SDGG UUJ XDED HUH! FGHHG GHRRF SSSJM! DO YOU UNDERSTAND!?
Them: YES, SIR!
bro I have a hard enough time as it is understanding people when they speak normally. I would be the dude constantly elbowing the guy next to me going "what did he say?"
That's special treatment compared to years ago.
God help us all.
Daylight? I got there at 230 in the am, stood on the yellow footprints, marched into the reception hall then got my head shaved…….then was made to scream until I lost my voice on the first day……
What's with the folding arms?
Idf training no lowering standards between women and men. Having a female greet you in today's Corps? Sad!
What the hell happened to my Marine Corps? PI 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, H Co, Plt 3091 - 1977
How do they keep from straining their vocal cords.
The new Woke Marine Corps
Sucks!!
War is a racket -Smedley Butler usmc turned dissent against rogues, lies of war, propaganda, capitalism greed
What does that mean?
Who's the DEI officer?
Not for nothing but I don’t find any of the DI’s the least bit intimidating if that was their goal. Then again I’m not that young.
It's not your age. These female DIs are NOT intimidating.
Is this San Diego? Parris Island always arrived around midnight.
Today's Marines have a soft, easy touch.
Thousands have tried, but only the very best are selected.
Females Drill Instructors are ridiculous 😂😂😂
Does anybody know who the female Sargent is?
I went thru Parris Island Aug - Nov 1982. You'll NEVER convince me that mixing male and female DI's is a good idea.
