  • Get inside with a jab, then throw a liver shot, and finish with a right hook to the head. Do not forget to go to the side after the combination to avoid follow up counter-punch. Alexey Frolov trains Saadat Dalgatova on mitts.

    Practice makes perfect. It is all about preparation. So many MMA fighters with bad footwork and boxing foundation should watch this. And use your shoulder, not your arm when you swing. This is exactly what is taught in badminton.

    Hello, love your videos. I was wondering following the Golovkin, Murata fight; I saw golovkin throwing so many punches seemingly going around the guard of his taller opponent, jabs also right hand leads finding the target. But when I try this in the ring it seems so impossible, they are punches with little to no setup. How would you advice a right hand is to be hit? With maximum reach, so it surprises or within balance but shorter... I dont know if you will get around to answer but thank you anyway. Great videos again!

    • @mateoforr4021
      @mateoforr4021 2 года назад +1

      Going around the guard is just a long hook. It works well if opponent has high guard with hands on the front side of face. If Murata had deeper guard (hands back more towards ears) then it wouldnt work and GGG would probably throw short hooks cause then part of Muratas chin would be exposed. So it is about adapting to opponent more so then just throwing a hook. Also it is harder to pull that through high guard in amateurs / sparring because gloves are usually bigger so they cover more while defending.

      @@mateoforr4021 Thanks for the reply. What I failed to mention was that what I mostly didnt understand was the lead right (straight) hand that was going between his hands. Very seamlessly somehow. I am sure that Murata is a very well versed in these techniques, so it just seemed like there is some trick im missing on.

      @@TheTransfix There are few interesting points in his straight technique .
      1. when he throws straight he always steps in only with his back foot in kind of narrow stance (leg distance wise).
      What that is allowing him is to cover more ground and faster. If you step with front foot first you will enter too wide stance from which you cannot step further with your front foot without compromising balance heavily. Only way to go forward from that position is to move your back foot towards front foot and then step in which takes more time.(but has its uses, this is all within GGG straight technique)
      But if you step with back foot first like Golovkin, then you can cover more distance with your next front foot step after throwing straight. Similar technique is used in tae kwon do and karate to cover maximum ground with kicks.
      If he doesn't need to cover more ground, then after straight he just sets up his feet (by moving front foot) for next , usually offensive feet position to throw power shots (left hook most of the time) with his balance on front leg.
      2.He uses it for control or to set up rather then as a power shot itself
      He often throws it from the shoulder stepping in, without loading on the shot. Note that he even sticks his straight in Murata guard to blur his vision and semi control his guard.
      What that is allowing him is for murata to not see him stepping in with front foot after straight (cause he steps in with back foot first as explained above). By the time murata can see, Golovkin is ready to throw power combinations if not already throwing them.
      Why he is able to hit that many straights is a different discussion, but hope this helps technique wise.
