Also, If you have memory seats you can push the unlock button 1 2 or 3 times depending on which memory your seat is saved at as well.

I also have a 2002 vw beetle.. this reprogramming key fob process, also worked GREAT for the 2002 vw beetle. thank you.. now I have 2 fobs for the car..
I'm the one that needed a spark plug removed. I got it out and told you the tool hack/trick I did to remove it!!!

What was the second keyfob you used, one from eBay etc.?
I have only one key but i locked it from the inside and did what he said in the video and it worked. Hope this helps 👌🏻

I have tried everything to re-sync my key fob on my 2001 Audi TT Quattro to no avail. I have one fob and one "Valet Key". This worked lickety split! Thanks, the locking the door from the outside with the Valet Key was the...key!

This was quick, simple...AND IT WORKED!!! I watched 6 other videos and even the presenters seemed confused. I tried to emulate their disjointed instructions and had no success. This method was well explained and worked on my 2001 VW Passat....first time.

Does this work with keyless keys too? For newer 2017 audi s4 avant- specifically? Have two keys. One works but need to reprogramme the other. Also, which key are you reprogramming? The one in ignition or the one in door?

Well, my friends, each car has an owner's manual and the steps to synchronize the key fob after battery replacement are included. 2001 Audi TT Roadster manual: press the Lock or Unlock button on key fob; within 1 minute lock/unlock the driver door. PRESTO. Job done. I just did it. Whatever crazy steps this dude is doing in his car, well, I only know about the 2001 Audi TT. But it sounds crazy.

Thank you, this worked fine on a cheapo knockoff fob from Amazon. Only problem I can't resolve is the Trunk button doesn't seem to be recognized? It's odd. Lock/Unlock/Panic worked fine however Trunk does nothing. It's not the car as one of the original fobs is still around and that fob can pop the trunk fine... I guess it's sending the signal wrong for that one button? Have no idea. The LED flashes red too so the button isn't broken physically.

'm still trying to figure out how to do it with a straight keyless. I have a key inside the fob for the driver door but the ignition doesn't have a key hole to insert.
Worked perfectly on my 2004 TT.
It worked on my TT also but it pre-programmed the good key at the same time. So I'm still left with only one key programmed. Tried it several times, but it just swapped the program from one key to the other

Thank you! An Audi dealership in Los Angeles (Van Nuys) tried to get me to buy a new fob and wanted to charge me around $100. I had already bought a new battery and they knew damn well how to fix it, they just wanted to scam me.

My local VW dealership charges 135 for cutting a key and another 135 for programming it. Not too bad actually if you can find an honest dealership like that.
But programming a second key only requires one fully functional key, as far as I can tell from these videos. I don't know why people keep asking "what do I do if I have only one key?". You only need one fully functional key to program another but you'll have to get one cut BEFORE you start programming it.
I was just quoted $450 for the key and $99 to program it my my local Audi dealer.
Do some research dude. You will save hundreds. Also check locksmiths in your area on google maps. Call them and discuss your issue.

Can I re-program the key from my 2006 A3 to my 2006 A6? I totaled the A3, but kept the keys. The A6 I just bought only has a valet type key w/ no remote. If I have the key re-cut, can I use this method to use the old remote on the new car?

Hi Craig,I tried this out it worked perfectly only one problem ,The functionality switched from the working fob to the non working fob ,so I still only have the one working ,I cant get both to work ? Any ideas?

Hi, when I follow this procedure, the key in the ignition was programmed as showed in your video but the key that was put in the door lock, doesn't work anymore. Every time I run this procedure, the programming switches from key to key. Unfortunately I can't get both keys programmed. Similar phenomenon if I follow your other video to program the key with only ONE key. Each time the other key loses all functions. Do you have any other solution for this? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for this works for me but only for maybe two weeks or so then, I have to do it again. New battery on fob. Also you don’t say what button to press in the ignition key. I try them all and eventually it works.
How do you program a key that's never been programmed. Someone on an Audi forum said they did it but everyone says you have to have audi do it and they want a hundred and fifty bucks plus 200 for the FOB. They say the cheap ones you buy on the internet wont work.
This is trivial but that is a gorgeous CL Class right next to you. I own a CL55.

Question: my old key fob shorted out. If I buy a new one and program it, and put the switchblade part with the key on the new one, will it work in the ignition?
You need to make sure you transfer over the transponder chip. The transponder is responsible for starting the car. The remote merely locks and unlocks the door.

It's not working for me. Does one of the keys have to be already programmed? He doesn't say which button to push on the fob that is in the ignition. I have tried both the unlock and the lock button while the key is in the ignition and nothing flashes and there is no action on the Locking or unlocking of the doors
