Pioneer DDJ-SX and Looping Functionality in Serato DJ

Quick run through of looping functionality in Serato DJ and Pioneer DDJ-SX. Looping is similar to Serato Scratch Live. You can engage a loop withouth it auto jumping to the loop like it does in Serato Itch using Vestax VCI-380

No, you can just set the loop length you want and hit auto loop. Or if you're familiar with pioneer, you can set in and out loop points.

if you have ever used pioneer cdj1000s, it is similar. while it is in the loop, you can either hit the loop in or loop out button and then use the platter wheel to adjust. if you hit loop in button, then you are adjusting the beginning of the loop. if you hit loop out, you adjust the end of the loop.

On the front of the DDJ-SX, there are switches to select the input type. You want to make sure it is on PC

which effect do you use the most? i usually use echo the most, either set to 1 or 1/2 count, about 90% on, feedback at 50%, and low cut at about 10 o'clock. i normally leave the fx assignment on the channel on, and then engage the effect on the fx bank.

Do you have to hold shift to set the initial loop like on the traktor 4Ttrak ? On the Numark V7, you just have to hit the 2, 4, 6 or 8 loop size to set the initial loop. I hate having to use shift just to set the loop.

Is there a way to cut the beginning half of a loop instead of the last half when pressing the "1/2" button?

Can someone please tell me which version of Serato this is on the video. I've downloaded Serato 1.6 from the website and there is absolutely NO AUTO LOOP like there is on the video (circle symbol with A in the middle) like there is on the software in the video.

Hey mate how exactly do i get those "parameters" buttons to work? pressing the shift didn't do anything. is my unit broken?!? and also when changing the tempo, how do i make it have a bigger range than ~10BPMs?

Nice video, but how do I shift a any size loop. On my ddj sx I can only shift the whole loop backwards and forwards but not to a specific size? please help.

Hey Wsup This s dj/vj TDK from 97.9 and Beamers, Did you do anything special to make MixEmercency work ? I just loaded Serato dj but it doesn't work with ME. I don't have mty controller yet, or do I need it for ME ?

also when i press a hot clue button, it returns to the original spot it was playing at when i let go of the button

Check out the links I just added in comments for videos to see how you get ME to work with Serato DJ.
Essentially, you open up your applications folder, right click on Serato DJ, click on show contents. Make a copy of Serato DJ and rename it to Serato SSL. Copy this file into the contents of Serato Scratch Live.
You want to launch the copied version of Serato DJ inside SSL.

when the loop is active, all you have to do is hit the double or halve button
