I get jealous of the thumb throttle on the Apollo. Wonder why trigger throttle even exist because I can't think of anything good with trigger throttle to be honest.
When using a thumb throttle you cant wrap your entire hand around the grip. On bumpy roads or downhill etc i like to actually have a hold on the scooter, ive got 3 extra fingers to wrap around if im using 1 for the throttle, there is only 1 thumb.
@@Futurebound_jpg It makes sense but I feel less in control if I really hold the handlebar to stay on the scooter so to speak like you don't hold the steering wheel to be still in the car if that makes sense. But what I really don't like with trigger throttle is the awkward position you have to place the brake handle if you want a good throttle position and vice-versa. I mean the position for both throttle and brake will be a compromise because it's impossible to have both in a good position, at least for me. Also I want to use my index finger for brakes or at least be ready with it which I can't in the same way with trigger throttle. Anyway I guess it's a preference thing in the end. 🙂

With IP54 water resistance, it's honestly not great. I used my Phantom in all conditions this year but it took some significant water damage over time. I didn't ride through puddles or anything, but rain and wind and road splash can definitely get in there. Granted, I did leave the scooter outdoors overnight during the summer/fall, but I kept it indoors during the winter. Water damage caused the complete failure of my rear motor this winter, and also damage to the battery, controllers, and more. Repair costs would be over $1700 CAD to replace the parts. So what I've learned: If you're hoping to use a scooter in variable conditions, you really want IP55 as the minimum for water resistance. IP55 is rated for water splashes from all directions without taking damage, which your scooter will certainly be taking if you use it in the rain. Sadly there aren't a lot of IP55 scooter's on the market, but the Nami Burn-E 2 is an expensive example. IP56 is even better as it can take a water jet from every direction, and Apollo's new City or City Pro would provide that and probably last a lot longer than the Phantom. However the City Pro comes with 2x 500w motors which isn't in the same class as the Phantom, so if you're looking for something that can keep up with local traffic, it might not be enough.

The downside is you're looking at a trigger throttle instead of a thumb throttle, and the build quality isn't as impressive as Apollo's. It doesn't have the nice center screen or the regen brake control from the upcoming Apollo City or upcoming Phantom v3. but it's also less expensive and it can still hit 60km/h with 2x 1000w motors (less than Phantom's 2x 1200w but still probably good for commuting).

I am looking at purchasing an electric scooter and wanted it to be as future proof as possible.
After watching a ton of your videos I’ve come to the conclusion that Apollo is the brand I should get but, as a person who hasn’t ridden one in 30 years, I don’t know which one to get…the beginner Air Pro or the best they offer the Phantom V2?
I do own an ebike that tops out around 22 miles an hour and im okay with the speed.
I am a bit heavier @ 225 so I wasn’t sure about the Air Pro’s weight limit being able to deliver max fun/capabilities.
I welcome any feedback and can’t wait to jump on the scooter revolution! 😃
I would recommend the Apollo phantom version 2! If you get a beginner scooter it’s just a matter of time until you will want to upgrade , phantom has good
suspension , speed , build , etc to keep you happy for quite a long time
