- When New Zealand faced up against Australia in the 2011 World Cup Semi-Final, a quick start was much needed. Step forward Israel Dagg, who’s magnificent run and offload created an early try for Ma’a Nonu as the All Blacks got off to the greatest start you could possibly ask for!
What’s the best early try you can remember? Let us know in the comments.

England in rwc 2019 semi,
Pumas' Matías Moroni vs. Ireland, RWC 2015 Quarter Finals.
John Leslie, "kilted Kiwi", scored a try for Scotland against Wales in the first ten seconds of a 1999 5 nations test.
Harry Randall scoring within 15 seconds for Bristol Bears in last years Challenge Cup final win against Toulon
Parkes in the 2019 grand slam, great try but it meant so much and boy did we celebrate!
bro, that offload tho 🥵
Can you think of any others that come close?
Israel Dagg was very under rated
@@fergmccarthy no it wasn't. Go watch another replay of it.
@@fergmccarthy lol. It wasn’t. Did you even watch the match?
@@WorldRugbyloads in League
still the most enthralling game i ever watched live, the first 20min felt like 40 min of intensity exhausting to watch but really entertaining.
Dagg had an awesome ability to go through gaps by virtue of throwing himself off balance in a manner that was difficult for would be tacklers to naturally defend against. It's a fine example of "Body English".
Izzy Dagg had some wicked moves such a mean player.
The support that nonu had back in the days was amazing
Sad that Dagg did not get the recognition he really deserved.
He’s a World Cup winner so he definitely has some recognition go down in history as the starting full back in that 2011 Team
We saw him, we saw the effort
This type of ABs play seems like a life time ago
Wont see it again soon
@@neilpieterse9614 they can turn it around for sure
@@AdrianKerr Forsure they can but if there is a will from players to win for Foster remains to be seen
@@neilpieterse9614 Foster is an anchor!
Donttttt cryyyy for me Argentina 🎶
When the AB's were great and feared! They need to get that back into their game
Man, I miss the 2011-2015 AB era. The greatest of all time.
Arguably also cause everyone else was rubbish, sa aus, the brits & now the French started rebuilding & getting back to being class
@@kurtsudheim825 Nah, that was a great team, took it to another level.
Israel dagg is my favourite all time favourite full back him and israel folau
This is one of the best rugby plays ever. Respect from 🇮🇹❤️🔥
Imo Izzy and Ben Smith's performances at 15 in the 2011 and 2015 RWCs, were probably the best I've seen anyone be at 15. And I know Cullen is probably everyone's first choice at 15 for an All Blacks all time team, but they were standout performers in stacked All Blacks sides.
I fell in love with Ben Smith's game. He did EVERYTHING well. And he wasn't a jack of all trades master of none type because good god he was a dangerous player with ball in hand.
Ma'a Nonu! What a legend ...
Probably the greatest 12 ( second 5/8) ever
Greatest try ever, Gareth Edwards for the Baa Baas, and it was early in the game too.
Miss this era
I support the ABs and greatly admire the Wallabies.
This was the Bledisloe opener in Sydney in 2000.
The ABs scored three tries in five minutes and three minutes later got the tally to 24-0.
Then came the fight back.
By the 73rd minute the score was 35-34 - in favour of Australia.
However, more drama was to come …
Said by some to be the greatest game ever played.
One of the best try's Ive ever seen! Beautiful running and an amazing pass!
Knees made of steel!!!
The way nl handles the ball is incredible
I love it when the AB beat the PHOMS!!!!
Israel Dagg at his swashbuckling, classy best!!
that goose-step killed many a lone defender 😎
And what a time to do it. 2011 RWC. Semi final
Did the TMO have a look at the foot on the touch line??? Looks like it was out.
They did and he got the pass just before he touched the line. The commentators couldn’t believe it
2000 All Blacks v Wallabies in Sydney, can't beat those first 6 minutes.
Israel dagg was the best 15 in the world that year I reckon, guy was on smoke
Indeed foot was in touch but thing is we can't reversed time
Nope
foot was off the ground. it was checked .
The last one handed pass, was the best, he's lucky he didn't get sent off for that aggressive elbow, after the play!!,
As an ardent All Blacks fan, I still don't know why they didn't look at this in ultra slow replay to see if a foot was in touch
Cuz you can see pretty easily
Probably the same reason why they didn't check the french forward pass back in 07?
Because those were the days that referees didn't question the AB's 😀 It wasn't allowed!
@@fergmccarthy And todays the day that even twits like you prove they too can have a voice even if only in the comments on a RUclips post.😜
@@jordanclark8508 You must love Wayne Barnes
Rugby is my favourite sport now.
Tana Umaga 2000 Bledisloe Cup game for sure.
This all blacks lineup was my childhood
South Africans love and respect the all blacks ❤❤❤
As a man of adoring science over sports I have no idea what is going on.
But that was a great pass though 🤣
Dagg!! Nonu!! Greats
That dummy was class 😱🤯
Dagg was pure silk.
Manu Tuilangi 1.34 England vs New Zealand
Manu sucks against us. England only beats us every 8 years anyway lmao
@@bumwees2865 Tore New Zealand to shreds almost singlehandedly in 2012 mate
@@soundscapemusic8980 once in his entire career.. Is that supposed to be a gloat?
IZZYDagg is a solid Natural man !!!
No one:
The kids at recess
Those were the days of the best team of all sports of all times!
Shocking Ozzie defence, 2 players went up to take same man. Huge no11 error
When the assist is better than the try 😎
We all love an assist! 🕺
I used to see tons of offloads from this old All Blacks team 😂😂😂
This sort of All Black play seems a very distant memory
#15 is the Larry Bird of Rugby. He knows precisely where his teammate is.
Le 15 fait un sacré boulot sur cet essai!
Dagg was on another level that year
Nice pass
He went out
Israel Dagg, one of the best to ever do it
Absolutely stunning try. Doesn't matter what team it is.
My favourite era of AB rugby
Ki EXPERTISE 😮UAU TÉCNICA SURPREENDENTE😁🏈👊🥰
Dagg was a awesome player
That was like the fend that the All Blacks did last night to South Africa
Dagg all day, miss you Izzy
Moves like dagger
Dagg jus the man, animation off the chain chur maori
Epic running and nice try
Rugby is good
Give it to the dagger 🗡
Soccer is Soccer
Football is Football
Something about South Africa n New Zealand producing electric rugby❤
New Zealand.. Yes. South Africa? He'll NO
Just wanna ask if took the ball to behind the bars is it called Touchdown or what??
Image how long the ref and TMO would have looked at Dag’s foot and the touch line if that try was scored today.
He was an awesome fullback. Dagg and Cullen are my all time favourites.
2011 RWC
Dagg,nonu, jane, awsome combo!
Best team ever
Foot was in touch
Best team in the world
Not a patch on Gareth Edwards for Barbarians v NZ 1973
Het is een mooie try
Best World Cup ever!!!
What was your favourite part?
GREAT PLAY BY A B
No try Dagges foot hit the touchline
Cory Jane was brilliant in this match .
Would he have got your man of the match?
@@WorldRugby he did .he was the man of the match .
none better than Dagg🤝🏽
Cullen ,Ben Smith,
Bro this just like football with no padding and easier
In his day Izzy was a mystro
Me parece a simple vista que al momento de dar el pase toca la linea
When Aussie didn’t play in hideous orange
I don't understand how this sport works 😭
What's the deal with all the cropping? I keep thinking it must be my browser, because nobody would do that on purpose.
Great game this one.
That needed least 4-5 replays
Isso é incriveu😂❤
Impressive
Almost forgot to watch it today
Amazing
Dagg's foot was in touch though. No try
Perfection
Foot in touch. 😃
Blind girl 😃
no where near
Heel inside, toe over line but not touching
Once upon a time, there was a great team called the All Blacks,,,,,,,
Sorry, does India have a rugby team? 🤣😂🤣 stfu punjab
