    Unfortunately, I don't think Dabo and Clemson will get back to dominance until he embraces the changing landscape that is the portal. I personally think the portal is a terrible addition to college football, but nonetheless it is here and many programs are finding success in utilizing it.

      They didn't need it before when they were winning nattys, they used to be able to develop offensive players now they can't they can still develop guys on the defensive side of the ball, it's a coaching issue at the position level, bad wr coach, had a bad o line coach too before this offseason when we hired Matt Luke after firing the other guy

      Dabo will only embrace it if he can find a way for it to help him in his mission to help craft boys into Men. He will never support the idea of a kid trying to get a short term gain of a little NIL money at the expense of his long term future. 99.5% of the players will make most of the money in there life time from from the degree they get from collage not playing football. If they do not get the degree they end up worse off after football they when they started.

      The problem is the acc is considered a second class conference now to the Big ten and the SEC. You basically have a pretty good Florida state program and you have Clemson which has been sliding back other than that teams like North Carolina and Miami really haven't proven anything. Look at the Big ten now you have Michigan Ohio State Penn State Oregon Washington and USC. And the SEC has a lot of top programs as well to fight through in the ACC you barely have to beat any good teams to win the conference That's not good

      The problem with the ACC and Clemson and Florida State is let's be honest it's a very weak conference there's no depth at all. Look at the Big ten this year. You have to fight through Michigan Ohio State Penn State Oregon USC Washington that's ridiculous and look at the SEC you have to fight through Georgia Alabama and the other good teams there. Somebody in the Big ten could have three losses but still go undefeated in the Big 12 or the ACC That's what I don't like about this 12 team playoff thing. Why is it fair that some teams play a gauntlet of a schedule and other teams play one or two top games all year it's ridiculous

    • @PhilsHobbyRoom
      @PhilsHobbyRoom 6 месяцев назад +2

      As a Clemson fan I think you need to look at some of the schedules for the teams in the big10 and the sec 🤔 some have it very easy. People always go on about the acc being so weak most teams or just as powerful as others and win a lot when playing other conferences. You don't never hear people like you whine about how weak the big12 is and most of that conference couldn't beat the acc so stop say people are weak

    • @johnmandock56
      @johnmandock56 6 месяцев назад

      @@PhilsHobbyRoomI agree the Big 12 is terrible. Schedules need to be balanced though that's a fact. I'm not a Michigan fan but go look at their schedule this year and go look at Georgia's schedule and Alabama's and Oklahoma's and stuff like that and it's just not fair compared to some of these other teams that could go undefeated and any one of those teams I just mentioned would beat those teams

    • @ROUGHNECK75
      @ROUGHNECK75 6 месяцев назад +1

      Are you kidding me about Oklahoma? Oklahoma won the big 12 championship 6 straight years. Texas never did that. Oklahoma is 7-3 vs Texas the last 10 years. Oklahoma been to the CFP 4 OUT 6 times. Oklahoma is ahead of Texas. And Texas lost a lot of players on both side of the ball. Why would Oklahoma fire BV? Haven a top 5 recruiting class or top 8. That 3 years straight . And Oklahoma won 10 games last year.

      @@ROUGHNECK75 Did you even listen to Mr. Pate? This isn't about coaches on the hot seat, it's about coaches (and programs) at an inflection point. Joining the SEC certainly qualifies as an inflection point.
      Oklahoma's schedule is BRUTAL this coming year. There's of course the Red River Shootout, and they also have to play Houston, Tulane, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama (at home) and play AT Auburn, Ole Miss and Missouri. The only easy games are Maine and Temple.
      This isn't the Big 12 anymore. And I'd feel a lot better about Oklahoma's chances if they still had Dillon Gabriel. I'm sure Jackson Arnold will be a nice player when he's a junior or a senior... but right now he's a freshman. Unless you have Patrick Mahomes level skills, SEC teams eat freshman quarterbacks alive.

    Dabo Swinney is an animality. The man built a powerhouse not too long ago. He seemed to push back on the direction of college football. You can't win this way. He needs to fully embrace what's going on right now and built a staff that can take advantage. That means sending some people on their way and bringing in people that are on the cutting edge. He can't just sit there and reject what is happening and expect to keep winning. He will just run himself and the program down. He needs to step up or retire. He is already a hall of fame coach. It's time for him to stop complaining and get on board if he wants to keep up a level of success.
