I don't know why I dropped "Card" from the title of this song when talking about it. I guess, it's late when I film these and I don't always completely/correctly interpret my shorthand in my notes. I apologize for the oversight in this one; I hate making mistakes like that.
Don't think about it 👍 If you're interested in more norwegian music here is a "one hit wonder" It actually reached #37 on the American 100 billboard singles list. I just love the piano in this 🎶 One 2 Many - Downtown m.ruclips.net/video/-rbMt2-U7TU/видео.html
This was from morten’s first solo album. Gave him a chance to kind of not sing the same way he does for a-ha. This was also during the 7 year period when a-ha unofficially split up, they returned with summer moved on at the Nobel prize concert. Yes as suggested brother is a recent morten solo song. Very good.
This song is based on a true story about a Norwegian girl who ran away from home. She had a dream to become famous in the usa, but she could not realize her dream, was raped, took drugs and became a prostutist. She couldn't go back home because she was ashamed. She wrote a Christmas card every Christmas that she never send. Eventually she committed suicide and all the Christmas cards were later found in her apartment. Many songs from Morten's solo album Wild Seed are based on true stories such as "Half in Love, Half in Hate" ruclips.net/video/GrX79-K5_-8/видео.html
@@CousinRyan Yes it is really sad. Morten told about the story when he was in a TV show in Germany to promote his Wild Seed Album. Listen to " A kind of Christmas Card " is therefore always very emotional for me.
I've got this single but haven't heard it for a long time. I'm not sure about the song/lyrics, but I love Morten's voice, of course. My favourite Morten song is Do You Remember Me, but the only 'video' I can find has been put up by the a-ha official site. It only shows concert footage, but I'm not sure if it would get blocked. Another of my favourite songs from Morten's solo work is 'Heaven's Not For Saints'. He performed it at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996 (when the contest was hosted in Oslo). I remember recording the show on VHS tape from the television, so that I didn't miss a second of seeing Morten! (He was also co-hosting the event).
I saw that year of ESC too. Rather funny he presented it, as he and a-ha stated never ever wanting to represent Norway at ESC. Maybe the experience when presenting it was too awful 😂
@@mountainsong73 I think successful musicians keep away from the ESC. Whenever anyone well known represented the UK, it was a disaster and ruined their reputation, so everyone is cautious!
You asked for more solo material by Morten Harket... Would love for you to watch 'Brother', which has a very interesting videoclip Thanks for your video's, I love them!
I will put it on the list! Thank you!... Right now my request list is backed up about three weeks, so please don't think I forgot, it just takes a little time... actually, I do forget things often, but not this one. 😂😉
@@CousinRyan I watch all of your video's so I'm sure I will see it come by one day 👍 Off topic: do you really own a 3D printer? Have to see that in action, it's so cool!
@@mountainsong73 I do own a 3D printer... I've got a few things I've printed out that I'm gonna make videos about. I've actually got it running right now. I'm printing out a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters. lol It's printed in separate pieces, the last piece is the body which is what's printing right now. I procrastinated because it would take the longest; almost 2 and a half days. Haha It's only about 18 hours in right now, but will be pretty large as far as my printer goes. 😁
@@CousinRyan I saw your unboxing and assembly video recently. Was surprised at how little time it actually took to make it work! I know my head was spinning when I saw all those parts 😎

Woah! That's pretty crazy and SAD! 😒 But that's cool that he bases a lot of his songs on true stories!
