Interesting - watching you it looks like Hulk's primary job is to split the team up and keep them disorganized and turning focus so your team CAN focus - as you separate the back lines from the tank and push the tanks and collapse.
I like how even one of the best hulk players in the world does not understand the air grab……. That makes me feel so much better because I was just scratching my head, wondering what I was doing wrong
Someone explained it but haven't tested it. Hulk's body is big, especially as Monster Hulk, so his collision box is more to the left than most heroes. Try aming to the right of the target. Line up his head with the target, not the reticle. Also, Hulk can wall-grab by jumping onto a wall and holding for another jump. It'll charge another jump while clinging to the wall. You can jump from a much better position onto flyers if you face away from the wall-grab.
I just saw someone on twitter saying showing you can(in ultiamate) clap punch and grab for an execute, it only works if the person gets not support but damn its effective

Sometimes it feels like he can just fly higher than you can jump, and like you said, aiming a straight vertical jump is more finnicky (not to mention easier for him to dodge).
For his shield, if the math is correct, you get 7.35% ultimate charge for the shield popping, and 0.29% per teammate that takes 100 damage. So if you shield yourself and your entire team and all the shields are popped then you will get 8.8% ult charge. Given the numbers you get the overwhelming majority of value just putting it on yourself when needed. If an ally is close enough to get it whenever you pop it then that's just a bonus from the looks of it.

Hey, super glad this video showed up on my FYP! I've been enjoying Hulk a lot lately. I'm currently sitting at Plat 2 (solo-queuing only), and while I tend to flex a lot since that seems to be the norm for winning at this rank, I really love playing Hulk whenever I end up on Vanguard. He's even my currently most played hero. My win rate with him speaks for itself too in terms of enjoyment and success. It's incredibly helpful to watch top 500 Hulk players in action, seeing how they approach different rounds, match-ups and modes, analyzing their decisions, slowly building up an understanding of the "why" and "how," and then applying that knowledge to my own matches. It’s been a game-changer!

But really simple to play and everything hes said in guide ive learned from trial and error and just like him consistent knocking down flying enemies is where I struggle but ive gotten a few iron mans and storms w it
@@HashiramaSellsthe thing that makes him hard is the game sense required to play him. Mechanically he is difficult but easy to get used to if you play him enough. The game sense you need is one of the highest in the game. You have to know when to dive, when to peel and when to brawl. You also have to be able to separate and isolate enemies so you can get in 1v1 situations.
One thing I noticed about the stun in Hulk's jump is that the enemy must be an average of 6 meters from the ground, its distance from your target doesn't really matter, so just keep in mind how far your target is from it. floor, I hope I helped :)
here's the trick. go jump and grab the wall above enemy spawn, wait till they all come out, jump down and mess up a squishy and then jump away.. the rest of the game the enemy team will waste time looking for you on rooftops
i recently get a hang on thor, and i'm quite liking it, so i'm looking to maybe learn hulk- If i may ask what's the key difference between thor and hulk? bcuz in a sense they are the same dive/brawl type of tank, which one is better?
HULK has much better mobility and mitigation. You can go much deeper in on flanks and dive whatever target he wants essentially. Because Thor has less mobility and can't block cool downs he has to respect cc a lot more and fight what's convenient.
The guide is pretty solid but I have one issue with Hulk which prevents me from playing him. He as a tank and as a Hulk is nuked so fast that it doesnt even make sense. Every tank in the game has some sort of mitigation but Hulk doesnt except for is weak bubble. I would beef him up with 400 extra HP tbh and making his bubble only prevent from cc. If you think 400 extra HP is much just consider that everyone with a shield has 400 + every few seconds while the Hulk has nothing.
@@Christian-zf7gcVenom’s swing is on a 8 second CD so it makes sense as to why he’s very tanky, Hulk has a leap that can be spammed every second to get in or out.
Is it really that bad to grab someone at the tail end of the ultimate? I notice if someone is in range, I can grab them on second 11 and extend it out while taking out say a tank/support or something from the fight. Really appreciate the guide. Thanks.
Yeah I talk briefly about a few scenarios where the grab is useful in my guide about how to use the ultimate. Basically if you can do it and not die it's fine to use but most of the time you will just feed and it's better to keep HULK form and your life. You can use it to grab certain ultimates if you miss the exile or you can use it at the end to extend it in a 1v1
I really like hulk as a tank, its no comic accurate hulk BUT its low key a perfectly designed mobility tank i think if they could make qol with the charge jumps a little more smooth, I'd be fully satisfied but its awesome to be able to mitigate damage with movement deny ult charge by existing AND be able to protect teammates and frontline at the same time one thing i like about hulk over winston, is that i get benefits for peeling/tanking instead of just using my abilities to live if OW tanks got ult charge off mitigation, wouldn't that be really cool?
Hey, I noticed you didn't really talk about Hulk's wall grab. I imagine that is reflective of how important you feel it is. I've had a lot of trouble finding real use cases for it.
I'm sorry I'm blind to my own reliance on lingo. C9 (cloud9) was an esports team in overwatch before the overwatch league. They were infamous for not stepping on the objective at crucial times in the game. They did it so much that the whole overwatch community adopted the phrase c9 meaning to forget to step on the point. The phrase has become so common that it has grown beyond overwatch and is used frequently in other objective based games.
On controller toggle is almost necessary. On mnk I prefer hold bc I don't have to x2 input while juggling with ULT. But holding it down gets tiring on the thumb for sure
Transform to HULK. You can jump off the map as banner and respawn as HULK or quickly charge HULK form off enemy tanks. You can request a rocket respawn and jump off as banner if you don't have HULK ready.
I play at 8000 eDPI (2000 dpi x 4.0 sensitivity). it should be high enough that you can turn around easily and have good movement, but low enough that you can reliably hit your exiles and claps. I'd say for most players this will be anywhere from 6,000-14,000 edpi
@@allofthat_ow Thanks for the recommendation! I currently play at 1600 dpi and a sensitivity of 2.0. Should I go about increasing my sensitivity or continue using my sensitivity?
@@allofthat_ow I'm a couple of games away from GM 3. Thanks for the recommendation in increasing my sensitivity. I'm currently still using 1600 DPI and a sensitivity of 4. What's your sensitivity for Winston?
in game time on real opponents is the most important! so I would try and maximize time doing that. other than that I warm up for 10-15 minutes in the practice range doing HULK ults in the room where you can summon bots. I summon 3 rockets and just get ult repetitions in.
I just don't understand how to carry on hulk and when the whole enemy team is marking the hell out of you. Like when you play Winston and they're all on hog, reaper, bastion just hard chasing you around the map. Like what do you do, you just have to hope your team does something cause all you can do is just bounce around and try to live.
It's pretty annoying having to charge his jump the entire time. It makes an already messy screen ui more messy. I'll give him a shot. I do wish you touched on when to play as Banner and when not to and tips on timing your transformation.
never play as poopy banner form. you are hulk until you get demeched like d.va in overwatch and then you either jump off the map as banner to get hulk back or farm your hulk form back by shooting tanks
@allofthat_ow I avoided OW like the plague so I'm unfamiliar with it's characters or slang terms lol. So the goal is to essentially jump in, smack and clap, and jump out of skirmishes to heal and maintain Hulk form as long as possible right?

Hulk strongest there is
💪😤
nope meat of hulk hardest there is
Nothing quite like that feeling of tackling an annoying iron man out of the sky😂😂
One thing I noticed about the stun in Hulk's jump is that the enemy must be an average of 6 meters from the ground, its distance from your target doesn't really matter, so just keep in mind how far your target is from it. floor, I hope I helped :)
thanks for the tips!
Great guide!
Subbed. Thanks!
you can take a thors ult away with the gamma lockdown if you time it perfectly i did it the other day probably never again
for the shield bubble, 100% of your shield is converted to gamma, 10% for your teammates
Great video. Didnt even know he had an air tackle. Big thanks.
Great video
Thanks for making an actual guide where you talk about the abilities not just talk for a minute then show 20 mins of vod gameplay
yeah the aerial grab is rough. I think the hitbox is quite small so its subject to latency greatly
Did you figure out the air tackle fully yet? Is it just a left click? Cause ive done it some times without even knowing what I did exactly xd
yeah HULKS right shoulder/chest has been most consistent for me. if you go mid chest or left you tend to slip past them more
You can set your Hulk Jump to click instead of hold to charge. it will charge with just a click. GAME CHANGER! a
yeah for sure! I don't like to double input especially for my ult. but my thumb is getting tired lol. it is necessary on controller though
here's the trick. go jump and grab the wall above enemy spawn, wait till they all come out, jump down and mess up a squishy and then jump away.. the rest of the game the enemy team will waste time looking for you on rooftops
For exile during ult do i have to hit before the ultimate starts or can i hit say penny parker mid charge?
Hulk just works on RUclips !! Dont play him unless you have dedicated Pre mates .
i recently get a hang on thor, and i'm quite liking it, so i'm looking to maybe learn hulk- If i may ask what's the key difference between thor and hulk? bcuz in a sense they are the same dive/brawl type of tank, which one is better?
HULK has much better mobility and mitigation. You can go much deeper in on flanks and dive whatever target he wants essentially. Because Thor has less mobility and can't block cool downs he has to respect cc a lot more and fight what's convenient.
@@allofthat_ow uuuu that's sounds so good 🤔 okay i'm sold, will try on HULK, thank you Sir Hulk!
Main issue is nobody charges his jump while fighting so they can jump out if they need too
I too have one tricked hulk id like to think ive gotten pretty good but sometimes i feel useless without a healer
He's got movement
@DeathDome_ so does Venom
@@Christian-zf7gcVenom’s swing is on a 8 second CD so it makes sense as to why he’s very tanky, Hulk has a leap that can be spammed every second to get in or out.
@@sickandafraid venom dive has quick cooldown and it can be used by climbing with astonishing range so
what key do u bind ur jump to? space?
I really like hulk as a tank,
its no comic accurate hulk
BUT its low key a perfectly designed mobility tank
i think if they could make qol with the charge jumps a little more smooth, I'd be fully satisfied
but its awesome to be able to mitigate damage with movement
deny ult charge by existing
AND be able to protect teammates and frontline at the same time
one thing i like about hulk over winston, is that i get benefits for peeling/tanking instead of just using my abilities to live
if OW tanks got ult charge off mitigation, wouldn't that be really cool?
The #1 person on ranked leaderboards is a hulk main... he's the #1 hulk lmao
good stuff
Hey, I noticed you didn't really talk about Hulk's wall grab. I imagine that is reflective of how important you feel it is. I've had a lot of trouble finding real use cases for it.
Do you use hold to incredible jump or toggle? I understand that some people use toggle, but it seems slower.
cheers
What does it mean to C9 something? I keep hearing this term being used.
@allofthat_ow i really appreciate that comprehensive explanation with history too. Thanks bud, that was really thoughtful.
Do you think that when the seasonal health bosst leaves He will be viable ?
Do you disagree with cc and knockups resetting leap charge? I personally have to disagree with that design.
Hulk should have a ground slam
Thanks for the video, so your saying Hulk is not viable as solo tank?
Is it easier to toggle jump or hold the jump button on hulk?
On controller toggle is almost necessary. On mnk I prefer hold bc I don't have to x2 input while juggling with ULT. But holding it down gets tiring on the thumb for sure
Good guide. Hulk sucks to play with.....he's the biggest bummer of the game for me
He's really difficult and really clunky but he is second best tank in the game rn. I hope they give us some qol changes really.
What about banner form? Any tips for that
Transform to HULK. You can jump off the map as banner and respawn as HULK or quickly charge HULK form off enemy tanks. You can request a rocket respawn and jump off as banner if you don't have HULK ready.
Do you have a recommended DPI and Sensitivity for Hulk?
I play at 8000 eDPI (2000 dpi x 4.0 sensitivity). it should be high enough that you can turn around easily and have good movement, but low enough that you can reliably hit your exiles and claps. I'd say for most players this will be anywhere from 6,000-14,000 edpi
@@allofthat_ow Thanks for the recommendation! I currently play at 1600 dpi and a sensitivity of 2.0. Should I go about increasing my sensitivity or continue using my sensitivity?
@@OTCThermal probably go up. but if your comfortable with that and you don't think its hindering your turning speed then you do you
@@allofthat_ow I can test it out later, try a sensitivity of 4, and let you know if it's better for me! Keep up the grind, brother.
@@allofthat_ow I'm a couple of games away from GM 3. Thanks for the recommendation in increasing my sensitivity. I'm currently still using 1600 DPI and a sensitivity of 4. What's your sensitivity for Winston?
What’s the best way to practice juggling
in game time on real opponents is the most important! so I would try and maximize time doing that. other than that I warm up for 10-15 minutes in the practice range doing HULK ults in the room where you can summon bots. I summon 3 rockets and just get ult repetitions in.
1. Listen to really good guide.
2. Notice low sub count.
3. Confusion.
hello
why is Bruce Banner and Wolverine not available in the hero selection?
how do I unlock them?
"second to only spiderman in difficulty"
looks at the two characters im most interested in playing:
...shit...
@@modifidious7171 yeah you got it! gj avoiding ow very smart decision.
@@modifidious7171essentially, you should never be playing as banner
