Yes!! A woman here where I live, who had been harassed and stalked by an ex for several months, was killed last night by him, and then he did the same to himself! She had been trying to get help for months! She went to the police, to lawyers, and to court! Nobody was able to help her because of the current laws in many states here, including this state! Until the person actually really hurts them or kills them, they cannot do anything!! She had a restraining order, which means absolutely nothing, because these kind of unhinged people do not care, and a piece of paper is not going to stop them!! He had told her that if he can't have her, nobody will!! She left behind 3 children!! The stalking laws are changing, but not near fast enough! So sad!!
