    I'm sure you will laugh at this. I have all these postcards that are not worth listing. To get rid of them I've been using them as Thank You notes. Not only with the postcards I sell, but everything I sell. Hoping to get people interested in postcards. So far in my feedback I've received some nice comments. I'm hoping this might bring them back because they know they might get a free card.

    When shipping check the cost at Pirate ship. Many times ebay and pirate have the same exact price, but not always. ebay only offers USPS Ground Advantage and Pirate has USPS Ground Advantage Cubic I put the same info into both 12 x 9 x 6 & 12lbs 6oz. Ebay came up with $22.01 and Pirate came up with $12.13 (west coast to east coast)
    I knew there would be a problem ahead of time so I calculated shipping before listing knowing my carton was well under one cubic foot.
    The hardest part, when listing, is telling ebay how much I want to charge for shipping. I have to make up a new "shipping policy" every time I do something different. I have to enter 2 or 3 times and wait. It was so much easier before ebay thought they knew better.

    Hi Mark, I have a poll question for you. How many cards do you ship together in the ecoswift "Best Envelope"? I usually only go to 9 cards at around 2oz or I think the envelope feels too thick if you go to over that. I would do ranges 1-4 postcards, 5-10 postcards, 11-15 postcards, Other please explain. There's also the $20 limit to consider for eBay standard envelope, but you could go to USPS Ground Advantage and still use the envelope to ship over 3oz.

      There are many videos that do a very good job of explaining. You can go to RUclips and search for "How to Print eBay Labels". also some of the other basic eBay processes you will need i.e. setting up your store account etc. Most of these channels are dedicated to eBay learning and the videos are already out there and if I do one it could be a few months or so.

    Hello, very interesting video ! Could you please tell me where to buy semi-rigid transparent sleeves in USA ? ( the ones that are thicker and you show in the video for more expensive postcards ). I live abroad, but the Post Office limit for a cheap postage in my country is just 20 grs, so I cannot use a thick outer envelope. I would like to use a common envelope and a semi-rigid sleeve inside, ( to place the postcard ) so as not to surpass 20 grs of weight. I will be very grateful for your help !

      @@SMPostcards Thanks for replying ! I looked at the link you provided, and those top loaders seem too thick. Are they made of vynil or similar ? . I am looking for semi rigid, ( not plastic rigid holders ), as they would add much to the weight. The ones I mean are made with transparent thin plastic or something, and you can somewhat bend them to an extent, but they prevent the postcard from being broken. They are sorrounded by an outer border with what looks like "sewing" marks. I have seen european sellers use them a lot, but they are rare in USA, so my difficulty in finding some at appropiate prices. I wish I could send you a picture of one ( I still have some in stock ), to give you an idea.

      I use the Eco swift 6.5" x 4/5" Rigid photo mailer, I put the Postcard in a 2mil Sleeve and then in the mailer. No need for a top loader I found with those photo mailers that I see. The only time I put Postcards in a Top Loader is for Higher Priced cards and mail those in a box.

      @@SMPostcards Hi, thanks for getting back to me !. I think I have seen something like "Eco" mailers at Ebay. They are outer white envelopes made of thin cardboard, aren´t they ?
      I hesitated to buy them because I thought they would add much to the weight, but perhaps I am wrong ? Do you know how much do they weigh aproximately ? Consider I have to add the weight of a postcard, which is around 5 grams, plus a thin poly sleeve. Do all the materials including the postcard weigh less than 20 grs in total ?

    • @SMPostcards
      @SMPostcards  5 месяцев назад

    I’ve run into a large load of postcards and I’m someone who doesn’t sell postcards regularly. I’m wondering if it’s worth it to have an eBay postcard store specifically for selling this load of around 5,000 postcards in your opinion? I sell a variety of items on a variety of platforms, just looking of your input. Thanks in advance.😊

    • @SMPostcards
      @SMPostcards  2 месяца назад

      It takes time to list them and most will take a long time to sell. People that do not do postcards regularly or will continue selling postcards. I recommend lotting them up and sell them that way to another reseller or collector. Look on eBay for Postcards lots and you will see how they are sold and normal prices they get.
