I set up auto feedback early or mid 2024...mine is set for after positive feedback... mostly just because I have had some belligerent customers...but they almost never leave me feedback anyways so has been kind of a non-issue

Glitter, as we know it , was developed in the 1930s. People have been grinding p various metals to produce reflective surfaces for thousands of years.. On Antique Postcards, I think, the reference I have seen is Mica, one of these minerals. Someone else may know more.

I do very well with RPPC trolley postcards, the smaller town the better. There are amazing RPPCs from San Fran that I can't get $5 each for. Then there are small town NY ones I sell for $100+

I use your SKU method and ma grateful for it. But I don’t always give the buyer a new sleeve if the one it’s already in is still in good shape. I remove the SKU stoker though. The stickers I use come off very easily with no reside. Thanks for all you do for us resellers!

I don't find that deckled edge helps me sell the cards but I try to put in in the features, title or condition in case a buyer is surprised when it arrives.

Hi again Mark! We just had another member of the Pisha family pass away here lately. The Pisha family is from Mt Clemens and the surrounding areas and you may recognize the name from the early photographer who printed a lot of postcards from this area of Michigan and eventually from all over. The Shinn family started here, too, as in Cobb X. Shinn. They published a lot of Cobbs sketches on lithograph printed postcards, and his company was substantial, too as he traveled and spent time in many towns and cities. This town, Mt Clemens was a very large, world wide attraction, a Mineral Bath & Health resort town. The baths brought in the nightlife and there were theaters and saloons, bath houses and hotels and everybody and anybody mingled. Most people came from small town farms and hotels and meals were cheap and some people never saw an electric light before and Mt Clemens was covered with them. Imagine seeing a light come on instantly with the flick of a switch, an elevator, a motor car and taking a hot bath in water nobody has used first! Well the water dark and very stinky from sulphur gas that made the silver coins in my pocket turn black, still in my pockets. I was there and I smelled it! By the way, Mt as in Mount Clemens was named as a center for the Pony Express riders to change horses, “mount” and ride off toward the next town. The Kellogg brothers were both here and started their fortunes here. I suspect people did feel better by taking a bath daily instead of weekly or less! Many stayed. I stayed in a boarding house when I was 18. The town died in the mid 1970’s and much of it was torn down and cemented over as Urban Renewal. Paramedical medicine replaced the health craze. I’m glad to see part of it, before it was gone.

I use your system of sequential SKU numbers in individual sleeves (your labels!), but I also put a divider in every 50 or so and label the tab to slightly decrease the lookup time.

Your sku method and labels have made this unorganized person very organized. In fact, all my vintage/ antique booklets, maps, trade cards, menus, advertising ephemera, etc… I use this method/ tags from your Ko-fi store.

I use the divider option with a slight variation. I use #6 envelopes which I can fit 35-40 cards in each. That way I can put my letter+number on the front, the date I paid for them and how much It cost me. My office where I pull the cards is upstairs whereas my inventory is on the 1st floor. This allows me to grab the small chunk and bring it upstairs to pack without having to bring the whole box. Plus if I drop one, it's only a handful to go through. I condense/merge tabs only when I get down to 5 or less cards per tab. I'm doing that right now and I would agree it takes a long time to do it all. Note - continentals are too large for the envelopes so those are just 50 per tab.

Hi Mark, I label each box, for example Box “E,” then I label each card with the designated Box letter (E) and the card group number, such as “E25.” 0:05 That way I know exactly which Box it came from and which group of cards behind Divider 25. This helps when I have pulled a number of cards from several boxes because the box letter and the group number is written on the protective sleeve. On cards I don’t have sleeves for, I write the letter & number very lightly with pencil. If the Box letter isn’t written on the card, along with the divider group number, it’s would be difficult but not impossible to return the card into the correct place for me to find it when it’s sold.

The number method in my opinion is the best and I’m glad I found you early. I started out alphabetical and there is no way that would be easy with a large inventory

I am glad I found your channel early on in my postcard business so I could adapt your Sku system method. It has worked very well for me. The only difference I do is instead of numbering the boxes 1 through whatever, I have a changeable label on the front of the postcard box that I write whatever Sku starts that box. When i do my consolidating like you do, I change the label if needed.

I do not do end and sell similar so my cards have the same listing number, I use the last four of the listing/item number that's the order numerological in the box so on the custom SKU I just put card box one or two etc and then I'm done I can grab any box and can add to it the number where the card goes in the box is just the last four of the listing number even if I have doubles of the same last 4 it's not a big deal I just look and see which card it is it's between two different pictures

Hi Mark! Great video! I enjoy manufacturing as a subject and I started my career as an Engineer at the Cadillac Motor Car Company, Detroit Clark Street Plant in the early 1980’s! It was on the first postcard you showed. That plant was adjacent to the Assembly Plant on Clark Street. The Engineering Building was on Scotten. I was all over the site, daily as well as all over the country, checking on my fleet of 11 test vehicles, mostly being tested at the Transportation Research Center in East Liberty, OH and EG&G in several places in Texas plus the Hercules Automotive Division (and missile site) in Cumberland, MD. I learned a lot when I was there. My wife and I went over those same rail way tracks in the early 2000’s and the entire area was leveled, an acres big area of flat concrete. Everything was gone. My grandfather pulled his horse drawn catering wagon through the huge, arched doorways in the early 1900’s.

Just before watching I finished a 1-2 day inventory project .. now that have a new house I reintegrated all my bulk cards (10, 20, 100+ quantities) in with my regular postcards. Back hurts, I am tired, but it looks good, it will make pulling those cards even faster, and I should never have to do it again!
