Hangar 9 Ultra Stick 10cc - Horizon Insider Flight Talk
Back in the depths of winter, we decided to build a 10cc Hangar 9 Ultra Stick LIVE on our RUclips/Facebook channels. We had a terrific time sharing the experience with you all finishing the build in roughly two hours. And then we went silent...
...until now! Today our Ultra Stick takes it's first "proper flight" with corrected center of gravity, control throws, and climate! In this episode of Horizon Insider, we bring in the aircraft Product Developer (Ali Machinchy) to provide some additional background on this fantastic airframe. Finally, we finish off the video with a couple quick flights by intermediate pilot extraordinaire, Kyle Roberts.

Running a dle 20 with a 14x7 3 blade prop on mine and absolutely love it.
Did you have to add any weights??
No weight at all, just servos in the tail. I also have the full span ailerons so two less servos in the wing might be helping.
I’m starting to build mine tomorrow. I got a 20cc stinger for it. I got the bnf electric one and now I’m excited for this one

Running mine with a Eflite Power 60 - 16x10 APC - 6S 5000 Roaring Tops -AR637T.... Unlimited V! and Truly Incredible!
Now if you guys can bring back the Carl Goldberg Super Chipmunk ARF 40-60 etc, now that's also an awesome fly, and a huge acrobat ;D
@@old-rcplane-phart This is a very strong setup... loads of thrust , as I forgot to mention, I'm also running a CC Talon 90 to push and tame the amps for the prop... works flawlessly... GL on yours and enjoy, Cheers!!
I’ve been building and flying Ugly Sticks since the 60’s, Kraft Originals, Jensens, Cardboard Sticks, you name it, chopped wings, Tri-Wings, Bi planes....They are failsafe...I have several on my rack right now. Gas, electric,anything but rubber??

Classic Style Plane like that deserved to have a Classic Glow Engine.
Would it be possible to build it as a tricycle gear? Also, would 8s be enough for the 30cc version?

can it hover with a power 52? I was thinking of making it into 3D and using a power 60, 80 amp esc and 6s set up
I know this is an old video, but I want to see a live 30cc Ultra Stick build with a gas setup.
You mentioned that in the first parking lot text flight it was nose heavy. I noticed that you moved the elevator servo to the rear of the plane. Did that solve the CG issues or did you make any other changes from the original build?
That was all that was necessary!
The 30cc model I hate it!! Only 3 flights..ready to sell!

You bought out pro-line! They were overpriced and cheap to begin with now there going to fall apart before you can even paint them....... sad days!

@@horizonhobby that sounds fascinating! I have flown up to 62 CC 1/4 scale but you know I got the jet bug lately...
Needs to be a foamy version available as well. And not made in China.
