NOMAD Modern Leather Case & Folio for iPhone 15 Pro/Max: Fabulous Horween Leather * 8 ft Drop Rated!

- Love leather? You're going to be crazy about Nomad's Modern Leather Case and Folio! The Horween leather on their higher end cases is traditional, old school leather, with a rich leather aroma and a luxurious look and feel. It comes from one of America's oldest tanneries and their old fashioned tanning methods result in leather products which will wear beautifully over time. Just a pleasure to use! But these cases aren't just lovely...they are also rated for an 8 ft drop, so you can use your phone with confidence. The cases are lined with microfiber, they feature aluminum buttons for a high end look, and of course they are MagSafe. The Folio version has slots for 3 cards as well as a pocket for cash and it features a clever magnetic closure strap which is easily removable. Overall, just great products from Nomad. Negatives would be the low protective lip around the screen and a slightly loose fit on the phone.

Nomad always have fab cases not much lip as you just stated . Nice review and content as always 😎🇨🇮
Thanks, Mary! Yeah, I'm always kind of surprised at the low lip that Nomad cases have. However, they have been in the case business for quite a while and have apparently determined that this design provides sufficient protection. And it does result in a lovely, slim feel in the hand. And that leather!! Love it. Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for your support as always, Mary! ❤️
That non-existent lip has always caused me to shy away from Nomad leather cases. I wish they would add a lip similar to what they have on the Rugged case. Also, I’d love to see them clean up those bottom cutouts. All that said, I’ve been very happy with their Rugged case.
Glad to hear you've been loving your Rugged case! But yes...I'm also a little puzzled about the lack of lip. An odd choice by Nomad, but they've been doing it that way for years...
I hope they never change it, I love the fact that the case is flush with my flolab screen protector. That along with the shape or taper if it, makes such a beautiful look and feel. This case, this year, for me is perfect, love it!
Hi hope your well, as you have reviewed these nomad cases & also the Ryan London leather cases which ones would you say are more premium & quality, I have had horween nomad cases in the past but Ryan London is new to me. Which one would you recommend? Thanks
Hi @Nej89! The Horween Nomad cases are more premium in my opinion. I just love that Horween leather..the look, the feel and smell are all top notch! But the Ryan London cases are nice as well...just not quite as good. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!!
Are you planning on reviewing the Ryan London? There are very few videos on it even though it’s commonly being labeled the best leather case for the current iPhones.
Hi @CastroJordan! Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have any current plans to review it, but I will reach out to the company and see if I can get a review sample. 😊
Good news! They sent me out a couple of review samples. They look very nice so far. Thanks so much for suggesting them, @castrojordan!
Nomad didn't send you the leather magnetic back? 😮☹
No, sorry! I did this review quite a while before that new 'case' came out. It sounds cool, if not very protective. Hopefully I'll get to review it in future...
Thanks for watching!
Nomad cases don’t have much lip it doesn’t bother me I love my horween case just ordered the sport case and rugged case can’t wait to get them. These cases are not for major protection again doesn’t bother me. Their buttons are fabulous the best buttons I have ever used
Hi Alicia! That Horween leather is just really special. There is so much disappointing leather around these days, but the Horween leather really stands out. Definitely worth the $20 upcharge to go with the Horween version, in my opinion. And yes...those buttons are really nice to use. High end look, as well. Hope you love your Sport and Rugged case!!
@@TheTechReviewerthanks Kristin I agree completely with you. 🙏🏻

Do you find it difficult to use the phone with the folio case on the iPhone. Also, how many cards can you realistically place in the sides credit card pockets and behind?
Hi Christopher! I think it comes down to personal preference in how you carry around your stuff. I always want to love folio cases, but they drive me crazy after awhile. The cover feels like it is in the way. But some people just love that case style. As far as how many cards you can realistically fit, you can put quite a few cards in the folio cover, but once you put more than one or two, it starts to look a little bulgy when you close the cover. And the more cards you put in, the bulgier it becomes. I just tested it out with 3 cards in the slots, and 8 cards in the slide pocket behind the card slots, and with 11 cards inside, the magnetic strap will still close around the folio. However, it was seriously thick. I don't think I'd recommend carrying so many cards. Hope this helps!!
@@TheTechReviewer Thank you so much for the reply. Sincerely appreciate it.
@@TheTechReviewer Best reply from a creator with the Nomad Folio case. This is the first time I learnt that you can actually fit 11 cards with this case. Thank You for the info!
Do these MagSafe cases affect the compass?
I don't believe so. I've never noticed any issues. MagSafe is a feature which is built in to the phone, so it wouldn't make sense for it to interfere with other phone features...
Hi madam, What are your top Folio cases for IPhone 15 Pro Max apart from NOMAD. Please 🙏 let me know..
Hi Kiran! So, it doesn't seem like that many brands have folio cases. The Nomad Modern Leather Folio is fabulous, but in terms of the competition, this is the only folio case I've reviewed so far for the iPhone 15 series. In previous years, I've been very impressed by Vaja's leather folios, but I haven't seen their products for a few years. You might want to check them out, though. Beautiful leather (and correspondingly high prices)...made in Argentina. It looks like they have moved to a modular design with a detachable folio section...that can work well assuming the magnets are strong enough, but can result in a thicker case. www.vajacases.com/collections/v-mag-for-iphone-15-pro-max
Madam, thank you 🙏🙏🙏 so much for the reply. I have my Leather Folio case of Horween leather ordered just a few days ago. I'm not sure when it'll reach to my city Hyderabad here in India 🇮🇳 Just waiting for it. 😊
Hope you love it, Kiran! And I've heard nice things about Hyderabad!
@@TheTechReviewer🙏🙏🙏 Thank you madam.
Has anyone used a stand for this folio case? I would like to add a travel stand with it.
I haven’t tried any, but it is MagSafe, so you should be able to use a MagSafe stand with it. ZAGG has some nice MagSafe stands, for example. CASETiFY does as well…

😊
Nomad cases are overrated. Personally, I’d choose Ryan London or Andar if I were into leather cases.
Hi Mark! Thanks for taking the time to comment. Ryan London is new to me...can't comment on that. But the one Andar case that I checked out several years ago was not close to the quality of leather that you get with Nomad's Horween cases. Of course, things may have changed with Andar in the meantime...my experience with their products is extremely limited. Also, in my view, there is a pretty major difference between the standard Nomad leather and the Horween leather. The Horween is far more premium and definitely worth the $20 upcharge.
hi, what strap would you recomend?
Are you looking for a wrist strap or a crossbody strap?
@@TheTechReviewer That's the answer I was looking for. Horween leather it is than.
Lots to love with Horween leather. Such a pleasure to use❤️
!
Thanks, @gokwolf!
