Lovely reading, easy on the ear. I have read this story many times but have yet to actually enjoy it. I love gothic horror and supernatural/psychological tales but I can't get behind this one, sadly..
The last section lends great support to regarding the story as a psychological study of the governess' mind. If the ghost were real or if little Miles were in communication with the ghost, the only way to account for his death is to admit that the ghosts and their evil ways have conquered the young boy. But it seems more reasonable to assume that the ghost was visible only to the governess, and through her psychotic imagination, she simply frightened the young boy to death.
Wow, the idea of her frightening or smothering him to death never occurred to me. I am as bewildered by this story today as I was when I read it years ago. The ending is truly shocking.
It’s very ambiguous iv often had to re read the novel & watch “ the innocents “ to understand why ? I feel Miles death is his only chance to be free of Quint
His governess believes that Miles and his sister are being controlled by the ghosts of their former governess, Miss Jessel, and her lover, Peter Quint. Perhaps Miles dies of fright after seeing Peter Quint's ghost, as he gets increasingly agitated throughout the scene.
Based on Henry James's chilling novella, Britten's The Turn of the Screw tells the story of a governess, desperate to protect her children from evil as they experience strange encounters at a remote country house.😮
I'm going to have to keep rereading this just because I want to see where she thinks the kids are conspiring against her 😂 and also how the ending lead up to what we got. It just seemed to me like miles randomly had a heart attack because of the sweating and stuff but idk lol

What do you like? Do you prefer Walpole's Castle, which is mentioned in the story?
So thankful for these uploads

I've always thought she smothered him. She holds him so tight, he can't breathe

it also killed her, though it took longer
This is a robot. One of the better ones but still clearly a robot.
Thank you so much !
This a fantastic rendition ❤
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this!
So happy you did this story. Thank you.
My favourite narrator! I became lost in the story toward the end. Miles just dies? From what? Bizarre ending and confusing story.

@@EM-lz9kg thank you! It's weird for my brain when I'm listening and all of a sudden the story ends abruptly and makes no sense 😊
