I remember being new to MvM and I equipped the gas passer once and that put me on the equivalent of a government watchlist overseen by tacobot.
I’ve never played MVM other than a few boot camp games, but I still feel terrible for you. Imagine being such a friendless piece of garbage that instead of just playing with 5 of your friends, you create bots to ruin the game mode.
If you equip something bad like the volcano fragment, you get kicked
If you equip something effective like the gas passer, you also get kicked
So tell me, why?
@@xdarin_ Meta player just want the most fast game possible, and create a "meta" who totaly forget skill of player, choice for weapon/ augment. I see sometime a sniper do so many dommage and be so much better to demo or pyro for kill medic. One time i see a spy on mvm ( very rare) with more dommage do to the heavy and the engi !

Last time I played MVM, ran into one of these people.
Tried explaining to the guy that I had 4,000 hours in TF2 and had played a bunch of community MVM so that I knew what I was doing but he stilled tried to kick me for refusing to play Botbash meta.
Vote fails. He and his friend leave the game. Two new guys show up.
One of the guys who defended me that game got an Australium Force-a-nature.

Imagine trying to kick someone for not playing the meta on the easiest Two Cities mission.
I just go pill demo nowadays on Bavarian Botbash because I tend to play with friends who know what they're doing and it works.
I did get a guy complaining that I wasn't doing my job properly with stickies once while I was playing pill demo, on a tour alone, still have a bit of conversation in my profile from that.
The Botbash meta isn't even that good, lol. I haven't even heard of that meta since 2017. Two Cities missions are so easy they can be played with any comp. The bare necessities are an engi and scout.

I had a moment like that ! The guy was mad i was playing pyro , tried to kick me , failed then he went airblast pyro and just airblastes the bomb to the hatch . He got kicked after that stunt .

Aside from Demo being a perfectly valid way to shut down annoying enemies, especially uber medics. Sniper can do it, but not everyone is comfortable, or wants to, play sniper.
Isn't the meta just any of the three uber killers.
I just played a match with one of the nicest, most supportive, and definitely good teams ever. After coming from a match where my friend was berated because he is new to mvm (and tf2 in general) it's a nice refresher

i never had a bad experience in Boot Camp, but Mann Up is hit and miss. I got booted last round one time because i didnt vote right on a kick. I joined late and somebody was harassing the sniper for cheating and i voted no. Sniper got kicked anyway and i thought everything was cool till last round came around. Booted.
But just this morning, i played Mann Up with a gas passer bro and everybody was chill.
It's sad that some people still treat new players like garbage. That kind of behavior is what makes new players quit early. These same people always complain that TF2 is dying, yet they don't realize that they're part of the problem.

After like almost 100 tours, I've learned that the best way to play MVM is just to play what's fun for you, and maybe switch if your team needs it. There are always going to be players policing you for no reason, so just keep server hopping until you find a server who is willing to work with you. People who play like tacobots are a minority and don't themselves have fun, so find people who actually ARE trying to have fun. The most fun matches I've ever played had like six scouts, three engies, etc. Aka servers just memeing and not taking things too seriously.
I'm fine with any class as long as the team has 1 engi and 1 scout. But I understand where the policing comes from, people have jobs and don't wanna waste their small amount of free time playing with an uncooperative team.
As sad as it is, you can't go into mvm thinking you play what you want, you have to be able to listen to players and do what needs to be done
High tour players explaining how it makes financial sense to spend thousands of dollars on MvM tickets instead of just buying an Australium from the steam market (it clearly doesn’t)
People with insane tours like 1000+ are surely going for a golden pan. They certainly aren't playing MVM for fun, seeing as how toxic and sad they always seem, lol.
86 tours on Two Cities here and I can agree that it doesn't make financial sense at all to put money into Mann Up.
But I'm still gonna do it because it's fun and I like gambling only to be disappointed after killing robots.

@@pocketmania1850 the aussie rate is the same across all tours, so technically the best would be mecha engine cost-wise and skill-wise, since expert is a completely different beast than the advanced tours. issue is that most people play two cities so it's not often you'll find a mann up round of anything else, and two cities gives killstreak kits, which can be worth something more often than botkillers.

Also the first mvm experience when I got back is fucking wholesome they're all very kind.
There are 2 type of mvm hightours. The ones who blame and full of themselfes and the ones who talk about random things and are actually really chill and actually helpful

As an average mvm player i can indeed confirm, that this is true.
First MvM experience in 2012 was way more different than what I've seen during the MvM Anniversary Annihilation event this month. Had a dude going mad at me cuz' I missed 3 bucks on the first wave when robots annihilated the whole team and made progress, or that one guy who used the n-word often because we were stuck on an expert wave for 20 minutes 👍
Here's a good line from a friend of mine.
"Scout is only good if the rest of his team is good." You can't always manage to collect money efficiently if your team is being steamrolled by the robots, and a very good example would be Hamlet Hostility, Rottenburg, where the first two waves are aids.
I play medic in mvm, I say nothing to my teamates in voice or chat. I just heal and try not to die.

i once was playing your average manhattan game as engie (aroun 6 tours), doing my job, the buildings well placed when i suddenly got kicked on the final wave aftr like 50 mins playing since the start. Ever since I've been discouraged of playing mvm

MvM is better played with friends, Boot Camp usually has awful players and Mann Up has the toxic ones.

Kinda ironic that these high tours want everyone to use the meta weapons and setups, but when someone uses the best weapon in the game they get upset. You never wanted to have fun in the first place, why get upset because someone is using the meta weapon for their class?

After almost 100 tours I've met tons of the usual toxic players/tacobots, but the weirdest one I've ever met was a high tour who was actually getting mad because our team wanted someone to switch to Engineer. He kept calling Engineer a "crutch", that we didn't need healing/a dispenser, etc. He left when we kept losing bc we had no Engineer. Gambling addictions legit mess with people's heads. I'm glad I still think MVM is fun. Those people with crazy amounts of tours seem to have no joy playing this mode and so they take it out on the people playing with them like the antisocial psychos they are.
Why in the goddamn would someone want to not have an Engi on their team the dispenser and teleporter are literally essential for the team's ammo supply and mobility.
I remember one time I was doing kinda bad (shit happens lol) but that one medic with unusual kept complaining that trash like me always gets australiums, so he kicked before last wave. Butthurt tryhards smh

It was almost like mvm was a mode where you could test and see what works and what is not ideal. Imo any weapon that makes other people's job better its fine. And the only reason they hate the gas passers is that the demo mains get super mad when there not carrying the whole tour. Narcissistic assholes love to come here to this mode. I got kicked for saying good luck have fun.

My first MVM experience was me with some friendly guys willing to show me how to play MVM! Honestly the nicest MVM players I’ve ever met!
My problem with this is wouldn't you want your glorified pull of a slot machine to be easier?
MvM from release to about 2019 was a ride almost every other lobby. So many flame wars, so many good memories, in an MW2 lobby kinda way

I just can't understand why MVM high tours can go through hundreds of tours and not get even a little happiness when someone gets off the Meta and enjoys the game? Talk about being literal slaves to the system lol.
It's not a game to them it's purely gambling and the faster they get through it the more chance they have to get their shiny gun. New players playing with them is like giving a crack rock to a child and having them stand in a room with a junkie who hasn't had their fix in a few days.
most high tours (other than the boosted ones) do go off meta. Its just that good high tours can play anything so well that it makes it seem like it is also meta.

I still dont understand why these MvM tryhards think the gas passer is terrible, with the explode on ignite upgrade it basically becomes a rechargeable sticky trap.
They don’t like it because it’s “too” good. They want everyone to use the best, OP loadouts but as soon as you are the top scorer you get kicked (usually on the last wave).
gas passer is like having someone queue as a tank in wow and actually play dps while constantly dying and making the rest of the team pick up scraps. if the player isn't braindead, sure it'll be fine. pyro playerbase is unfortunately that, so they're 99% a detriment and worthless. not like that stops people from completing tours, just makes it take way longer. I just requeue after the first wave of a pyro player dying 25+ times and negative damage scoring because it's more of a headache to deal with than to find someone playing something normal without being obnoxious lol.

Play bootcamp trust me you will find detonator pyros, gunslinger engis and shotgun heavies all the time and no one gets kicked because no one cares it's really funny

I played Demoknight the other day and people complained that I wasn't using stickies.
So yes, you're right in 99% of cases. Just, unfortunately, not 100%.
Also Blutsauger Medic with resistances and milk syringes has abysmal damage but is almost unkillable. Have fun with that info.

MVM is the gamemode you play when you are too toxic for real tf2 but not toxic enough to play League of Legends.
Not everyone's like that but it certainly does feel like that's the kind of people you play with sometimes.

True tho. I've played a lot of Mann Up and I gotta say that most of the high tours just instantly leave upon joining, and while I do encounter toxic people, it's not every mission.

when it was my first mvm tour there was those 2 guys i was kinda new to the game (still same) and they almost votekicked me for being a "bad" doctor even tho i saved their lifes

how to be the best/coolest person in mvm in a few simple steps
step 1: pick meta loadout
step 2: belittle anyone who doesn't use meta loadout
step 3: say "i have more tours than you" whenever anyone doesn't do what you say or argues with you ( this establishes dominance and lets them know how skilled you are and how much you dont need them)
step 4: deliberately sabotage the game when steps 1 through 3 doesnt work.
step 5: bask in the pool of how cool and right you are about everything after leaving on wave 2 of mannhattan
step 6: find a new game and repeat
My literal first mann up game I had this demo with something like 1800+ tours, you could basically smell him through the screen. He was mean to everyone, complaining about every little thing. I basically told him to touch grass and he stfu for the rest of the game. It was pretty funny

Everyone literally always berates Pyros. My first time on MvM, I went AFK for a split second and came back to the entire server having a go at me for not changing class.
Mann Up is so fun until people start arguing against each other. I've had a drunk person playing Demo in a Rottenburg mission before we kicked him for being inactive for an entire wave and generally being far too british in chat whilst threatening us.
I've had a fair amount of good and bad times in Two Cities, lately been trying to get better as Demo and Sniper so that I could virtually play any class (except Spy for obvious reasons) and still assist the team well.
Playing MvM is really fun, but not as random and chill as Casual. That certain mentality of "we're up against AI" really spark that competitive nature in people.
Of course Casual is casual. The losers that pay for tickets in MvM are subscribers to the sunk cost fallacy therefore they're going to be try hards. Play Competitive to see *actual* competitive nature.

I've always wanted to complain about Pyros who abuse the airblast. Yes, it's an inherently good tool for stuff like pushing the bomb back, but abusing it makes it harder for Demos, Snipers and Soldiers to do their jobs.

Had a sniper get mad because I was airblast giant scouts back to keep them from getting passed. Sentry took them out but sniper who prob can't hit a pvp headshot felt the need to get pissy. People you never wanna play with are the sniper mains they are the worst because mvm is the only mode they can hit a headshot and they'll let you know if they can't hit them.
Hey, I’m a sniper main and I understand I am not the best at getting headshots. I don’t blame my team or get upset, and I’m actively trying to get better at the game.
To be honest, airblast spam in mvm is very annoying unless youre airblasting the robot into the grinder. It makes the robots harder to hit for heavies (they do less damage when the enemy is far from them) demos who made a sticky trap and well, the snoopers who cant hit shiz.
@@feefre in two cities *or any mvm map in general* your heavy shouldn't be far aways anyways he should be as close as possible to body block at that point it's the heavy fault for not being in position and demo is pretty nullified now because of the gas passer playing demo only fun now for doing off meta demo knight on last wave.

This is absolutely true, especially about the 'average mvm player' in question playing medic. Literally today I was playing MvM and had a medic with 39 tours say they were going to "castrate me with their fingernails" all because I was trying to move my exit teleporter to see if their was a more optimal spot to put it.
It was literally like fifty seconds till the wave actually began... I wasn't even doing something that would take that long.
No matter though, cause talk as much shit as you want, I still got a australium after my third tour, fucko.

Played mvm boot camp a lot recently to avoid the bots (I know ironic). It is really chill, but due to all this talk about no more bots I might hop back into casual soon.
There's still bots in Casual, just that they can't crash the server anymore and they'll usually get kicked fast enough unless you joined a bot-infested lobby.

MVM is super toxic, I play as medic, and if I even mess up a single action, the whole team will yell at me, they tell me to Kill Myself and then they kick me.
