I had it my femur Doctor took years to diagnose correctly, the pain I had for years affect my mental state. After proper a diagnose operation many sessions of antibiotics over the years and four sessions in hospitals. I had a massive abscess operation to drain it, then couple years later I got blood poisoning, three day of intravenous antibiotics finally finished it off. That's now 50 years ago, I had bad sessions of Tonsillitis when younger. Plus a small motorbike accident 2 years before I started with intense pain in my leg. So not sure what started it off but Doctor were slow to diagnose correctly, which we had internet them so much information sharing.
Thank you for your videos. I need my Doctors to understand this . I have pain in my back hips and knees. Im in constant pain. I think it came from a fall I had but before that I had a spinal tap. I believe my personal believe is it happened years prior with the spinal tap and it became chronic from the fall in 2017. I did have the operation in my spin. I cant work because the pain is too much for even daily activites. Standing and sitting and walking are not improving. I have no idea how to get my Doctors to understand this. Im not getting better.
Thnx for this I m diagnosed with this and it is in the chronic stage( learned that from you). I've been dealing with pus discharge for almost a year and was wondering why the doctors at Hartford hospital wouldn't operate after the x-ray showed and confirmed this all. But after your video I see now that I'm chronic and not acute so getting a MRI and waiting on surgery is not them not giving a fuck about me but them checking and assuring me the better chance at keeping my ankle. Thnx again from America god bless
Not surprised tbh. I had it in my vertebrae and my back pain kept getting pushed off as something else by doctors and once I got to the point I couldn’t get out of bed anymore, my mom took me to the er again and basically insisted on an mri. It had been active for at 6 months and 2 of my vertebrae were basically dissolved from the inside out. I didn’t need surgery, just IV antibiotics for 6 weeks. But most specialists I’ve seen have said that it will likely hurt for the rest of my life. Kind of a real bummer. Happened when I was 18. But yeah American healthcare sucks. Best of luck with your ankle! And I’m sorry but did you mean puss was coming physically OUT of your body? For a year?? That sounds awful, I’m sorry, mine was just like an abscess on my spinal cord. Hope you’re already on the road to recovery ❤️🩹
My mother has been suffering from pain below the knee since 20days a week ago after we did MRI it was diagnosed as acute osteomylitis and our doctor suggested two of oral antibiotics which are used to treat blood infection and told to use for about 15days, she has been using these since 5days but didn't get relief. Can someone suggest to continue the dose or can we consult other doctor for second opinion. My mother is 50years old, she don't have diabetes. How many days will it take to get relief.
That’s how I got for the past 17 years. Had a near fatal car accident and shattered my right elbow and had open fracture and caught it that way. The pain sucks.
Keeps coming up on mri but being ignored as too rare apparently. Just been in hospital with lung infection and sepsis too had sepsis numerous times in six years since diagnosis with RA and associated ILD
Where you ever able to get the bone infection treated?? It breaks my heart when people can’t get proper medical care when the technology confirms it you should be getting treatment!!! Upsets me so much!!!
@@madeinhisimage3447 nope four mri’s showed the same thing, I’ve been having spasms in my spine for years which is why I requested further checks but the doctors decided it was “probably nothing to worry about” 😂 crazy right? There’s been so much of that in my healthcare it’s really no surprise I’m so sick, everything was ignored till they had no option but to treat.
Thanks to you ,,,,my question is. I have been operated the second time of chronic osteomyelitis but it's not healing,,,now it's four months,,, please advise me what next.thanks
Hey, My friend is sufffering from chronic Osteomyelitis in right lower leg bone. He got it when he was 12 years old, And the infection became active after 13 years again now. The doctors said that doing a surgery can be harmful as the infection tends to reoccur. He is in severe pain, The painkillers are only affective for several hours. Is there any way to atleast control the pain ? Please reply.

It's a tough one to treat, I know, I've been fighting it after a great toe ulcer (over a year). You have to fight it with prolonged antibiotics = rather then 2 weeks it's best to stay on them 4 weeks (orally); the sooner the start, the better. A broad spectrum bacteria antibiotic is selected such as Amoxicillin Clavulante three times a day. It that does not win the battle then IV antibiotics might be used for 6 weeks after they determine the exact bacteria, via a bone culture. I consulted two doctors. One was more aggressive with antibiotics and other suggestions---I'm glad I compared.
Can this occur in a false joint? My mother had a titanium knee replacement back in 2018 and went on to develop "Cervical Myelopathy" which led to stiffness in her left arm, and has now developed further, to the point she is completely disabled. Over the last 6 months, the same knee began to ooze a yellowish puss. This has not gone away, despite many courses of anti-biotics. And from what I have read, could lead to "Sepsis" Is this, if left untreated" lead to death? I am really worried about this.
My SON is paralyzed and has been told he has Osteomyelitis in his Tail bone area, and that he needs surgery, but we have been to so many Doctors, and cannot find a Surgeon that will help us with this, dies anyone know a Doctor we can see!!! I don't care where they are!!! PLZ HELP!!!!
Amanda Drummond where are you located? My brother is paralyzed had an open wound on his sacrum which turned into osteomyelitis. We’re in Boston. It took us 2 months to actually find or insist he be seen. A wound not treated with osteomyelitis can grow staph, pseudonyms, and MRSA!! He had all three. The bone must have debridement done. Scraping off the dead bone.. he must be on a course of iv antibiotics, he must have blood work and a bone culture done. This disease can be fatal if left untreated! Call a patient advocate if you can’t get a doctor or hospital to do something. You have to fight for him and be strong...many weeks went by before I insisted he be admitted to Tufts medical center. This is an infectious disease issue as well as an orthopedic one!! Good luck

@@olcapone3039 I’m so sorry you’ve been having to live with this infirmity for sooo long. One other thing you can try to keep the pathogens in check in all that area that is so vulnerable to infection is to use pure essential oil of oregano and frankincense in a carrier oil. Oregano oil is a natural antibiotic and there have been times that I’ve been really close to needing Antibiotics for eye infections and if you place a drop or 2 in one tblspn of carrier oil and add 5 drops of Frankincense and use the mixture all under your chin to the glands in your neck and apply it 3 times a day and on your jaw line it will get whatever is brewing in there under control. The trick is DONT stop as soon as you feel it’s getting better. Continue for at least another 5-7 days thereafter and keep a close eye on any returning signs of reinfection.
