Currently testing this display as well but I 100% agree with you coming from someone who has the 45" LG OLED UW I sure wish this AW had a remote. Side note to anyone who already has nice external speakers even though this monitor does not have a 3.5 mm jack out you can get audio out of the downstream USBc port on the monitor and run that to external speakers. Sadly I have only been able to get this to work on the Displayport and not through HDMI though
do you have the lg ultragear 45? thats what i have and ive been seriously considering downsizing to this or the gigabyte aorus 32 4k with dp 2.1 when it releases. how does the aw compare to the lg 45?
12:30 you're right, i wont ever understand why some manufacturers go the extra step and slap an anti glare on a crisp oled gaming monitor when gamers usually sit in darkened rooms... I have a glossy next to a matte monitor here and the difference is day and night.
Yeah, I don't fully understand the people who say that the anti glare doesn't make a difference. I absolutely don't think it completely ruins the monitor, but it is a big difference for sure.
I am absolutely in love with mine. It is so beautiful. I have yet to find the best settings for it though... Ive been messing with HDR for a couple of days now.
Wow it is the third gen qd-oled panels/monitors and delienware is still using this bubble protector for extra scratches instead of a normal one - like samsung did on their g8-34, g9-49 qd-oleds. nice 1300 dollars monitor - buy and pray.
Ordered mine on release as well but have to wait till the end of month for delivery being in Canada. Have a C2 42 Oled and plan on using the AW3225QF along side my C2 as a second monitor. Nice review and thanks for showing the option menu.
Great review man I love having the option to watch a more simple straight to the point review. I ordered the 27” AW. Ik I’ll like it because I’m coming from the Matte 27” LG. I wanted to know if playing games that aren’t 4k compatible on console bearable or not. Because I play a variety of console games. Ofc I’ll use 4k sometimes but this will help me decide on 32” or keep the 27”
Hey there, iv watched many videos on this monitor and nobody will show how the monitor scales when you give it a 1440p signal. Obviously 1080p can take 1 4K pixel and scale to 4 pixels. What happens when u go 1440p, please explain this.

nice I am waiting on the dualmode monitors oled 480hz 1080p 4k 240hz either the LG 32GS95UE or Asus PG32UCDP I dropped the lg 45'' 240hz oled for a odyssey neo g9 57'' and its the best decision I ever made the brightness really shows in hdr content and it gives me that visual upgrade above 4k close to 8k what I was wanting so now I do not need a 8k display
Compared to the Neo G7 which is brighter, and which does your eyes tend to look when you compared them both. I have the neo g8, should I upgrade to the AW3225QF?
I have neo g8 too and wondering how good is qd oled vs mini led in picture topic. Neo g8 is great, but not perfect for me as first of all is aggressive matte finish followed by backlight bleed and blooming
I upgraded from a Neo G8 and even though the NG8 theoretically has more brightness, it's EOTF for HDR content is so bad, but the AW3225QF follows it perfectly, and of course the true OLED blacks are hard to beat. HDR ended up looking BRIGHTER to me. But I never ran them side to side.
@@tallguyericreviews Thanks for the reply, So is it a big jump compared to the two, Neo G8 or AW3225qf. I have the lgc1 next to my neo g8, and my neo g8 can still beat it at times due to the local dimming pop. Just wanted to know how big a jump it is and if it's worth it.
Any experience with the HDMI 2.1 flickering that takes place when GSync is enabled? This is a commonly discussed issue on Reddit right now with this particular panel. I am forced to use displayport, which suffers from VRR flicker, but it's at least useable with GSync.
I have one of these on order. I will use it to play MW3 with my newly built by me, 4090/7800x3d. It is replacing my Samsung 32" Odyssey G7 240hz. Almost went with the 27" AW2725DF at 360Hz/1440P. But decided I'll see what fps I can get at 4k. I currently get around 270 fps pm my G7 I hope to get around 150 fps on the AW3225QF If it's too low...I'll get the 27" AW2725DF instead.
Is this overkill for console ?? I ordered this was supposed to get it today but got delayed till the 29? Is this purchase a W or should have waited for asus LG samsung ??
All of the QD-OLEDs will be roughly equivalent. The LG one will be WOLED which has less vibrant colors and a matte display if you're into that. I'd say stick with the Alienware as they have the best burn in warranty out of all of these.
The purchase issnt overkill. You’ll still get the nice HDR, the great color OLED offers, and you’ll be able to take advantage of 4K 120hz on console with hdmi 2.1. It’s a W, and LG Samsung with likely offer the same if not very similar package to this one, so you wouldn’t be losing out on something big.

They're about the same brightness. But the Alienware has better blacks, a less intrusive coating and definitely feels faster/smoother.

Great vid! Are you able to tell your settings you have for this monitor. Thanks!
when you turn off the monitor the blacks looks gray compared to lg woled, is it only on camera ?
It has a purple hue to it when the monitor is off and there's a lot of ambient light.
I bought a neo g8 for a good price a month ago. I'll keep it until prices decrease on the new OLEDs.
can you get audio from the ps5 by plugging a soundbar into the HDMI eARC port?
I would imagine so.

Unfortunately I don't use gsync. I have seen a lot of people with this issue though.
Is it better than GP27U?
Love your intro lol
It's honestly my favorite part of making reviews haha
Hey! I just got the neo g8 about a week ago do you think it's a major jump that it would warrant me returning the g8 to get the Alienware?
I honestly think this monitor blows the g8 out of the water. Perfect blacks, no scanlines, faster motion handling, and better hdr.

Not anything noticeable. It's noticeably better for text than any other OLED I've tested.

How loud is the active cooling fan near the vents
