Robert Forster Maybe you don’t realise that you’re only listening to the edited version? You do know the full version goes for over 7 minutes right? I’ve recreated that in fine detail. Loving this update of this Sparks classic. I would love to hear you cover the whole album which although had only six tracks was groundbreaking in '79 when Sparks met Giorgio Moroder.

People forget how important this album was for electronic music. They were the first rock group to stray into the disco forum and they went to the man at the top, Georgio Moroder, who had been churning out huge global hits for Donna Summer the previous 4 years. The No 1 song album is just being rereleased on double coloured vinyl so this would be a good time to get twiddling with your nobs Mr!! Be great to hear the results!! 😁
hi parralox. did what you suggested and had a listen to the original. as i am a musician and singer i do know timings and such but cannot see where the change occours. it does get more intense with more backing but the timing remains the same throughout. i would say the second half of your mix is more like the original speed. i know you may beg to differ and that is your perogative but lets agree to dissagree and enjoy the music. carry on with your great mixes.
It's not a matter of prerogative or differing. It's a cold hard fact. The original song starts at approx 125 BPM and then transitions to 150BPM at about the 330 mark. That's a difference of 25 BPM. You really can't hear that? LOL
