It's not mature love if there's no respect. Love without respect is just childish infatuation. It doesn't matter if the heart wants what it wants. That's not a healthy way to make an important life decision and get together with someone who has betrayed you. What the FL should have done was cut this guy out of her life entirely and focus on herself. Why does a woman think she has no self-worth without a man? Why does she have to be with anyone at all in order to live a satisfying, fulfilling life? The message here is sexist and unhealthy: sacrifice your self respect.
Absolute worst ending in these dramas when FL is mistreated by ML and she takes him back. No retribution. I refuse to watch these type of dramas. I think there are messages in these type of dramas to young women, whether subconscious or not. Not good.
She is decisive and also follows her heart. She probably decided that facing their relationship head on was better than avoiding it since she can't get over him anyway. Although I wouldn't have taken him back if I were her, I still admire her courage. Under normal circumstances, I would be very upset about a heroine getting back together with a guy who refuses to trust her and face difficulties together with her. Yet, since she has always had an accurate assessment of the things that are wrong in their relationship, I can choose to believe that she will let go at the right time if necessary.
I have watched the whole series. The male lead ignores the female lead for the first half for the scheming woman. Then the male and female lead get back together. Again the scheming woman comes back in the name of marrying the male lead’s brother, then the male lead abandons the female lead and even goes to an extent to break up with her for the sake of scheming woman. Later the male lead pursues back the female lead. The only consolation in this series is that from the beginning the female lead is portrayed as a strong woman who stands on her own, helds her self esteem and reverts back to her successful career after her patience is tested. But at the end, as all Chinese dramas think that a happy ending means nothing the leads getting together here also the female lead reunites with the male lead, which is quite disappointing.

I agree with you. These types of drama are often written by men. I'm a writer and a few years ago I did an analysis of Hallmark movies. Hallmark movies are very popular in the United States and a lot of studios want to copy their formula. They are stupid unrealistic romance. What I discovered was, 90% of their scripts were written by older white men and 10%was written by men of color and a few female writers. It's very difficult for female writers to get their work produced. The industry is controlled by men, who producing films for a female audience and this is the garbage they come up with. It's really sad.
2nd love interest is better. Love sometimes is earned and developed through friendship. Mistreatment and being inconsiderate and ignoring her feelings makes this script stink!!!
