I am a single father with 3 sons. Their mum walk away and leave them with me at 3, 4 and 6 yrs old. They are now 23, 24 and 26. I struggled emotionally, and financially to support them, but, thank God they're all working, and the last one is the 21- 30 road tennis king in my country. Giving them up for adoption would have been suicidal. I love my sons badly
As the daughter of a single father, y'all aren't given enough credit for the sacrifice you go thru as well to love on your children. God bless you and my dad.
I am adopted and grew up knowing my birth mother and I feel that I am better for it. I was far more well adjusted, and I didn't ever struggle with the feelings of not belonging. Tragically my birth mother was murdered shortly after I turned 10 years old. And there are no words to express how grateful I am to have been given the opportunity to know her. My adoptive family is the family that I was meant to belong to. My birth mother was the vessel to give me life. She loved me. I have never doubted that for a moment. And I loved her. I love her. That will never change. Even now, 31 years after her death I still love her and celebrate her. And I love my mom. So much. She loves me more than herself, just as my birth mother did. I know that because she allowed contact. It takes a very strong person to do that. I wish more adoptive families would choose open adoptions. It doesn't have to be like this familys situation. Mine certainly wasn't. My birth mother had to set up visits in advance and they always happened at my grandparents home. And visits didn't occur regularly. But they were enough.
Im adopted and grew up not knowing until I was in yr7 high school as a 14 yr old , a teacher telling me. My so called parents never bothered to actually sit me down and to say to me anything about my existence. I had an elder sister and a younger sister none of us were biologically connected. My childhood wasnt idyllic by any description, the only apologies that came were from aunt's who said ' we knew what was happening but there was nothing we could do about it as there wasnt any external support or networks they could approach to help me' . I eventually tracked down my BIO mum I was about 25 then subsequently my BIO father, regrettably he passed away before we could meet. My BIO mum and I are peas in a pod. I got to meet her side of the family in Nov 2011 as she was getting remarried. On the girls night out the night before one of her very best lifelong friends approached me as I was buying a drink, which I had paid for and the barman had just passed it to me. She said you could only be a cousin to the family due to my striking resemblance to Bev ! My reply was oh yes we are related but you best ask Bev how. As soon as this friend returned to the table she asked me again how we were related, at that point I got Bev's attention and asked her if she could explain to her friend our connection, She stood up and her friend then asked her again at which point she got everybody's attention and asked me to stand as well. She started by saying I have all introduced you to Carla however what I havent advised or disclosed to any of you is that Carla is actually my daughter and she promptly sat down again. I would like to say things evolved from there in a positive manner but I haven't had much involvement with my BIO mum or a close knit circle of friends since her wedding the next day. I was 46 1/2 at the time closer in age to some of her friends that she was. Life is lonely for me and Im in this void now as a 53 1/2 yr old where I dont belong. I have a total of four 1/2 brothers and sisters from both my bio parents but their is a generational gap in that. In the words of Tina Turner if I could turn back time I probably wouldn't be where I am now. I dont have any life friends, no husband after finally getting out of an abusive marriage (27yrs) Two sisters I never see or her from one living on the other side of the world in Canada that other over 900 klms away who is a total wrapped up in herself narcissist ( Like our adopting mother) I just have NOBODY. Lonely lonely lost and lonely. :-(
My 15 yr old gave birth to a daughter. We were in a position to help and ended up raising her. My daughter has been her mommy of the heart and that baby is 38 and has been the joy of our lives. I applaud all the love in Hannah’s decision and respect it. Btw, the father died in an accident when my granddaughter was 10 and had been in her life completely.
as an adoptee, to hear these adoptive parents view and why they chose to do what they did (open adoption). that’s truly incredible and so heart warming. taking the kids into consideration
I also am adopted and I think it is so wonderful the child does not have to grow up wondering about his birth mum. I wondered about mine for so many years
i find it disrespectful that the lady interviewing hannah interrupted her and asked how her boyfriend died. i know she was probably curious but she could've at least waited until she was finished talking.
Oh get over it....I swear you people on RUclips have so many opinions it's ridiculous. You wouldn't have that ridiculous opinion if it were in the 1970's 1980's now would you? Of course not.
I am glad she did it. I was thinking the same thing! When there is a burning question in your mind it is hard for some people like me and I guess Megyn to stay focused. We are all different and do not do things the same. I did not think it was rude at all. Embrace people’s differences and stop being so judgmental!
@@evelina2363 : This was/is the 'story' of how and why the mom gave Taggart to another family...it isn't a story about her OR the father or their relationship...it's about Taggart!
If you go look at the women's recent video she posted on RUclips, (about her baby's father, their relationship and everything), she said he also agreed about giving the baby away. It's not that they didn't love their child, they were just young and not ready to become parents. They wanted their baby to be happy in a big loving family who knew how to raise children properly.
This is better than neglecting the child and bringing him up in unfair conditions just because you wanted to keep him. This is the most unselfish decision she can do
Exactly what I commented on the few posts before this she wasn't selfish she could barely take care of her self. She did what's best for him not for herself
Every child can become somebody one day when properly guided by an able-bodied adult. Future adoptive parents are trusted to be that able-bodied adult. They are entrusted with nurturing that precious baby during his critical developmental stages. You know you'd only be planning selfishly in vain if you had kept him like many have done before in history!
What ‘unfair conditions’? Is not like she is living in a 3rd world country with no parents grandparents that could help you bringing him up. Your not the only teenager that gets pregnant in the world! Even really poor young women around the world bring up their children even if they have to prostitute themselves
How do you know the child would be neglected? It would be more challenging... but seriously, it is sick and wrong to assume a young single mother would automatically default to neglect.
My husband and I adopted twice. I am unable to have children and we have a beautiful child from Korea and a handsome son from here in the states. We are so lucky and thankful for Mothers that allow us to love their children also. God bless you
@@marymemlendon5522 I agree but what people need to focus on is fixing a horrible system that doesn’t allow adoptions so people go to other countries to do it. The foster care system abuses children much worse than with their birth parents a majority of the time. Then we can honestly say its the best option for the children.
My GOD, that tore me apart. Especially the picture of Hannah and Emily crying together. I can't even pretend to understand how difficult that must have been for everyone involved. I'm so happy they went through with the open adoption.
i thought it was very rude when she asked “how did he die” like?.. she could have been more respectful and said “may i ask how he passed?” or something along those lines.
This birth mother is amazing!! What a beautiful act of love to give her son what’s best in life. And the adoptive parents are also wonderful. You have to be very solid in yourself as a person and parent to offer that kind of close relationship with the biological mother!
I have the upmost respect for Hannah and all the birth parents that make this heart-wrenching and life changing decision. It is not done lightly at all. I don't understand why people shame these families so much.
Try doing the DNA ancestry and 23 and me. I have a friend who found relatives and parents that way! Just need to find either a parent 50% same DNA. Sibling (Around 25% to 40%) Aunt's or Uncles (18% to 30%) then cousins will be less. Even if your bio parents aren't in there, siblings, aunt's, uncles and cousins can still help you find them. Hope you try it!
My brother was adopted, I have thought of him every day since I learned of his existence. I have nothing to offer him but my love, but I really hope I find him.
Emma Brown, may God bless you moment by moment. May God guide you to be able to meet your mom. Praising God for the Angel mom around you. And Blessing your family group. Giving you a Blessing Huggies from my heart. 🙏💖🙏
I am a birth mother and placed my daughter up for adoption back on August 1, 2013. Watching this video brought me back to the day I delivered my daughter and only having 48 hours with your baby. I felt every second of this video as if I was reliving my own moments with my daughter. I've never cried so hard in my life than when I had to hand her over. 💔
I bet it was hard. If you don't mind me asking... Did you regret it later? Any advice for those considering? Did you have an open adoption? Or do you have any contact now?
@@mandyerickson2997 It's be almost 9 years. In the beginning it was extremely hard, mainly because people expected me to "bounce" back to the life I had prior to getting pregnant/placing her up for adoption. Where I live I don't know any other woman who has made a decision like I did, so it was hard to find people who get my experience, but I've found birth mom support groups that helped a lot and continue to go to therapy. There is always the "what if" scenario that would replay in my mind, and there are days where it is still hard, mainly specific events like her birthday, Christmas, when school starts/ends, and just many mile stones you have to miss out in is probably the hardest. But for anyone considering adoption, I think they should check out their closest adoption agency and see if some birth moms would be willing to share their stories, same goes for women who chose to keep their children. There are rewards and hardships on both sides, every woman's experience is different and valid, but at the end of the day she should feel like she is making the best decision for her and her child, because once you make the decision it can't be undone. Legally speaking, my daughter is a "stranger" to me, because her parents make all legal, medical, educational, financial, etc decisions for her. But regardless of legalities I always look at her as my daughter as well and my first born (I don't have any more kids right now, just her).
And why did you feel you needed to give her up? That it was the best decision for you both? (Don't feel like you have to answer if it's too hard. I'm just curious.)
I became pregnant at 17. The father didn't want the baby and wanted me to get an abortion. I chose LIFE though and I also chose to raise the child myself. It wasn't easy...but luckily, I had the support of my parents that helped me tremendously. Still, it was a HARD road and looking back now, I was literally just a baby myself still. But I knew there was NO way I could give my baby up for adoption. Don't get me wrong, adoption can be a BEAUTIFUL thing, but as a mommy myself...I just don't know HOW they do it. Granted, I wasn't' able to give my daughter EVERYTHING. She didn't have the perfect home, best clothes, or lavish vacations. But, she did have A TON of love and she never went without the things she needed. Today, she is a beautiful 23-year-old college student studying to become a teacher. I've asked her if she felt she would have had a better childhood living with TWO wealthier parents who could have given her "more" than I did. She looked at me like I was insane for asking such a thing and said she loved me and wouldn't change her life at all. She was happy, she was loved, no matter what, I ALWAYS found a way to take care of her and to get her what she needed. Again, not easy...but today, she is truly my BEST friend and I can't imagine it ever being different now. NO matter what a young mom chooses, it's not going to be an easy decision and there are going to be pros and cons to both. It's a very PERSONAL choice though and I applaud those strong mom's who choose adoption over abortion! Btw- Taggart is ADORABLE.
My same thoughts I am here with my child and the support of my parents.. It's hard extremely hard. But I find the way the take care of her while studying, I have even taken her to my classes. I can't buy her luxury stuff I do breastfeed her and save lots of money and use cloth diapers.. I find so many ways .. We don't know what's behind this woman what she has gone through so who knows... For me personally I don't get how would you feel after your breast fills with milk waiting for a baby that you have given to someone else. I didn't love my child in the beginning but I learnt how to deal with the situation and like her when she was 6 days old and love her when she was 5 months old..
Shawnie Campbell Good for you, and very well put...as in this day and age (unless you are in some god forsaken territory, or a third-world starving country)... love, really, is all you need. Or rather all THEY need. There are plenty of charity shops (thrift shops) for clothing, etc. Libraries for books. And cooking from scratch is easy and inexpensive, so there is always a 'way'... if you want to keep your child. The immature (and manipulative) girl in this story is looking for someone to take care of both her baby and herself... and it'll all end in tears (sadly for the vulnerable adoptive mom).
Shawnie Campbell I’m 22 just had my daughter and am I a single mother of 2. 💕 the fathers chose not to be in their lives and I tried keeping them around, they didn’t want too so I let them go and gave it up to God and am now putting this in his hands. My son is almost 2 and my daughter is happy and healthy! I love my little family and I am so thankful that I didn’t give either of them up. I felt like I wanted to give up my daughter when I was pregnant with her, but I am so glad I didn’t because they changed my life for the better❤️❤️❤️
My boyfriend said abortion I’m now 31 weeks pregnant and he’s thanking me for not doing threw with it ( as a mother make your own decision don’t let anybody else make it for you 💯
I was adopted at age 2. I love that you made a video. It is so heartwarming. Being adopted you really don't know where you belong. I have traits like my biological family and you bring on traits from the family that adopted you. It is a hard road to be on. I never bounded with my adoptive mother. You are a beautiful strong women!
Me too. If they contemplated adoption I would offer to raise my grandchild until they were more ready. Now I have two adult children and one still a teenager and I always told my children that they needed to be careful to not create a child they weren’t ready for. I have told them all that when I became pregnant with them they were such a joy to me and that they and my grandchildren deserve the same joy not for the child to feel like a burden. So far so good.
What a wonderful, unselfish gift you gave your baby as well as the family that adopted him! I am proud of you, someone I don’t even know, but you chose life! Thank you! Your baby deserved that.♥️
This is an amazing story I hope other adoptive Mothers see this and apply it in their own lives.. The more family a baby has to love it the happier it will be.
WOW 😮. I was adopted in 1968. Ohhh how I wish this was a concept back then !!!! I absolutely applaud BOTH mothers ! What tremendous love and strength you both have that of course can ONLY be God given ! ❤️🙏🌹💞
Oh my goodness these people are amazing! The emotional welfare of the children comes first. You don’t see a whole lot of that these days. I hope they’re all doing well ❤️❤️❤️
What beautiful, amazing people! The birth mom and adoptive parents. As an adoptee myself, I wish more people would be open to this and maybe more are. I just know how much more emotional pain I’ve suffered through my life because of all the secrets and my natural questions being pushed aside and never answered. It’s been excruciatingly painful for me. I applaud this wonderful story and all involved❤️
Thanks for sharing, I have an adopted son and we are trying to tell him from young he wasn't in my tummy I heard that is the best way in the long run as hard as it is
Thank you both for sharing. I was adopted the day I was born and my parents talked to me and my 5 years older, adopted sister very young. Now we are all grown and happy... I wish the same and more for you and everyone else in this type of situation!
However I believe there is a difference between answering questions or allowing contacts and leaving the door open for the birth mom to share the son’s life “every time we are free”. Just a thought, I have not experienced any of this so I really don’t know anything about it
Thank you Hannah 💕 Thank you for giving birth to your baby, for respecting his life. Thank you for the happiness you brought to a loving family who received him. You were brave, knowing people would judge you for your decision, but followed through with it. God bless you, the baby and the adoptive family. 💕
Wow, Hannah, you are a remarkable woman! Well done! You did a wonderful thing for your son and for the couple who adopted him! Your love for your son is incredible!
Lucky Larae You are so right. If the birth mom was brave she would do everything possible to take care of her own child. I am an adoptee and you are tight on target. Thank you for understanding
I don't know how to contact you through YT but I will ask my son when i see him tomorrow..If he knows how he will show me.I do believe that my mother was broken down at the time.
Angela Carleton Brave??! You mean manipulative (as she knows full well what she is doing). And let's not forget attention-seeking. To post something so personal (such as this) is questionable. It's one thing to film onself expressing one's love for a child (that you are just about to give away), but let's be honest, that film should be kept discreetly for when the child is older, and NOT for RUclips. No, this is nothing more than attention-seeking. It's all about HER...rather than the baby.
My daughter did just this. She made a beautiful video for her sweet girl and it was the hardest thing to watch her do this. But, she did what was best for her child and i couldnt be more proud of her for that. Its an open adoption and our sweet Shiloh Grace has two families that absolutely love and adore her! Shiloh turns 5 years old this March and its been a blessed 5 years!
When young kids were too lazy to use condoms or didnt want to go to the doctor for abortion thats what I would call irresponsible and dumb and shouldn't be supported by saying this to society thats okay. Thats not okay!
So killing a baby is responsible? That is just the most idiotic statement. Adoption is giving that child a chance in life instead of just destroying it. Thats what is irresponsible and just dumb (in your own words).
The grandparents of the boy wanted to raise him I think that's very unfair to them that the mother of the child decided to give him up for adoption and the grandparents not only lost their son but grandson. Don't biological grandparents have any rides? It is a very sad story actually
If they wanted to raise the baby then they would've, and I'm sure she also would've passed the baby on to them, since in her recent video she said how kind and loving they were. However, let's look at this in a real perspective here. They're practically his grandparents, and won't be around for very long (statistically speaking by looking at life expectancy rates). Some people have their grandparents around until they are old enough to make their own living, many don't. It would be heartbreaking if his only "parents" who raised him passed away while he's still in his teen years or is financially unstable on his own. Plus, when people hit their senior years they tend to need more care for themselves than caring for others. When the father's parents become seniors it'll take much more effort to care for him (depending on how old he'll be when they become seniors).
SO SAD , the baby is so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ HANNAH MAY GOD GIVES YOU THE COURAGE & STRENGTH YOU NEED So proud of the adoptive family to let you see your adorable son
They're angels that want to have their cake and eat it too. Such angels especially when there's no mental issues drug addiction or a mental condition or homelessness involved they're just Lazy irresponsible wanting to live a carefree life and still be in babys life . Whatever works though because This is a healthy Relationship so far but who knows in the future Or maybe I've judging wrong and this could be the future of adoption Norm who knows Is only time will tell😇
Precious little boy!! And precious adults!! Thank you Hannah for giving Tag life a thousand times over!! May God our Heavenly Father continue to bless all of y’all!!🌺🙏💙
When she said “WE KNEW THIS IS WHAT WE WANTED” I not ONLY smiled but felt her emotions of how right this IS! THANK YOU FOR ADOPTING YOUR SON AND FOR ALLOWING HIM TO KNOW HIS BIRTH MOM! BOTH ADOPTIVE PARENTS, BIOLOGICAL MOM AND THEIR NEW SON’S SIBLINGS ARE GOING TO BE SUCH A LOVING FAMILY AND I PRAY MANY MORE FAMILIES FOLLOW SUIT! I PRAY OUR FAMILY GROWS THROUGH ADOPTION AS WELL IN A FEW YEARS ONCE WE ARE IN OUR FOREVER HOME.......AMEN! THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE CHILDREN NOW YOUNG ADULTS ON THAT PANEL FOR HELPING THE TRUTH BE SHARED BY SO.......MANY!!!!!!
Gosh, the adoptive parents are truly amazing! They even kept the name the birth Mum gave him, they must be very secure in allowing an open adoption. I am adopted and do not feel easy about open adoptions. Personally I think it could cause confusion and insecurities. My only curiosity with my birth family is who did I look like, nothing else. I am a qualified nurse, married with four children (now adults) and couldn’t have done it without my parents support and love and cannot see the benefit in knowing the birth family.
A lot of adopted kids have issues with adandonment and identity. Its good for them to know their biological families but I dont think seeing their birth families often is very good either. Maybe once a year or so should be enough or a call every now and then espeically when they are older and going through changes. Its really useful for doctors and the parents tho to have a full medical history and be able to ask the birth parents questions about that if any medical issues come up with the child. The same with mental health issues as those are also partly genetic. In general its best for the child, they wont grow up wondering why they were given up or who their bio families are and wont feel so abandoned. But deffinatly not to the degree of keeping the pictures of their birth families on their night stands(unless they were older when given up for adoption due to their parents deaths, in that case pictures and the like should be kept because a child needs to grieve and remember their parents)
The birth mother is very young. People change so much by the time they are 25. I think this situation is going to become difficult for her as she gets older especially when she does settle down and has more kids.
I agree, she'll always have some degree of regret as she ages. You're right you do change. When she has more kids that's when it will sting. It's human nature.
Yes, it is difficult and always will be. This is my story. It has become more difficult, but I wouldn't change where he is because I knew that it was the right decision. I still have no regrets, but it is hard. You always have to make hard decisions in life. Just because something is uncomfortable or difficult, doesn't mean that it is the wrong decision. But happy news! I get to take him on our first date next week!
No she won't because at the time she couldn't do it by herself. She knows he will have a better life and get everything he needs. She loves her son and she's doing what's best for him not for herself she's not being selfish and gonna keep her son and give him a terrible life when she can barely take care of her self.
I was adopted when I was 3 years old .. I now have a 15 month old baby girl of my own and have an enormous bond with her to which I can’t imagine being with her until she’s 3 years old then saying to myself ok I can’t do this anymore.. got to give her up for adoption... sucks but some people really can’t handle being a parent .... they all have a reason
My older brother was a 30 year old was healthy, worked out...went to sleep one night and his heart just stopped. Same painful autopsy reveal that it was just natural and sudden. It makes no sense...we all only have so much time
I LOVE ❤️ love, love, how the birth mom and the interviewer and adoptive parents use the term "place for adoption" and not the derogatory term _give up_ for adoption. This is the only other person/people that I've heard use those positive terms. I've been waiting for this for 21years to hear other people speak like this!! I am a birth Mom myself and this is truly a decision, an arrangement for what is better for the baby. That's giving life!!!
Wow. I contemplated adoption, but once i got further along in my pregnancy and i felt those flutters and kicks, i realized that my baby was alive and this was all seeming real to me! I fell in love with my daughter! And i could never give her away.
PLEASE GO WATCH HER UPDATE VIDEO!!!! she talks about the adoption and how it was EXTREMELY HARD FOR HER! the baby is almost 3 year old now. The adoptive parents have an extremely OPEN relationship with all three of their birth mothers!!!! She actually babysat all three of the boys on multiple occasions, she visits her son OFTEN. She considered them all to be her family. The updated video is on the birth mothers channel which is Hannah Mongie!!!!
All these comments about "better with Birth Mom", as if DNA has anything to do with being "better". In my humble opinion, there are far too many people out there who should keep their DNA to themselves...
Any child is better with her mother, as long as the mother shows that she is capable to love. And in this case, the natural mother is beyond capable. So even if this looks ok too, actually it looks wonderful, at the same time she could have taken care of him.
Yeah I agree. My step mom is my mom, and my birth mother abused me to the point where I had to get a restraining order. A mother is not the woman who carried you in her body but in her heart.
I am Heart Broken father watching this young woman giving up her baby for adaption. Makes me re-lived my past when my wife and I gave up our youngest son of four to my brother in law and his wife. The few weeks of him being with us due to his skin yellow color when he was born; required us to bring him to sun shine early morning and breast feed during these period of time. We we're broken when he was taken from us! Even knowing he's only living few miles away from us in the hands of my in law, but still today I still cry when I think about him. He knew us and is now serving in the Marines. Thanks be to God!
Giving a child up for adoption is the most wonderful gift one person can give to another. When they realize they couldn’t care for a child the way a child needs takes a huge amount of self reflection. I don’t think they should be criticized.
I am just seeing this. I am a nurse. This is a beautiful moment of the love all three have for a child. The way they have chosen to make a family with the birth parents is heart warming. In hearing about the passing of the birth father, please consider having Tag checked by a pediatric cardiologist to ensure that there is no hereditary genetic issues. This can easily be resolved or watched. Thanks for showing such loving maturity in order to give Tag the best childhood with people who love him.
I think Tag is liking the camera. ❤️ I'm an adoptee and didn't have open adoption in the 50's. I was able to locate my Father and Mother. Father had already passed but had a relationship with my Mother. My adoptive parents always spoke as I was adopted, no secret. They are my Mom and Dad always. Extensions of my family are adopted side. Including my siblings I knew nothing about. What a joy! I wasn't the only one. Enjoy your blessings! ❤️
He's not an ad on Craigslist. She didn't put him up for adoption, she placed him with his parents. We need to get rid of terms like "put up" or "gave up". It's PLACED.
No it's really put up. As someone who works in the legal field and works on adoption, see kids especially babies are PUT on a list. Then prospective parents go to churches or agencies and depending on their finances ask to be put on a waiting list so when there's a kid available it's their turn to take that kid. Or they get a booklet of newborn babies and choose if they're picky choosy. Like believe it or not A LOT of adopting parents don't want to adopt anyone over the age of 1 and only want white babies.
BubblyBlondeBrunette _15 It's not put up, or gave up. Most parents aren't "giving up" their child or "putting them up". They're making adoption plans. As someone in the legal field you should know the process of adoption and how adoption plans work. "Place" and "placement" are the proper terms. I think you're mistaken as you think just because there are lists and what not, that the term put up must be used. You can be placed on a list. But most the time, that's not even the case. There are exceptions. But now, even for unborn infants, adoption includes adoption plans. These people are placing their children with families who they find fit. Or an agency is placing a child with a family that seems fit. Placed is the proper terminology. Not give up, or put up. Again, it's not a Craigslist ad. Sure it happens where it seems more like human trafficking than adoption. But a majority are parents who place their child, or who, are placed by an agency. As for potential parents being on lists, that's irrelevant. That has nothing to do with a term of "placement" vs. "giving/putting up". It's the child we're talking about. And even in these lists, the child is placed on them. Not "put up" on them.
My son just passed December 7 2019 and he left behind two sons and 1 daughter and a daughter on the way we are here to support her emotionally and financially this is the last link to my son and I will give my grandbabies they love that there dad would of gave them and to make sure to let them know that there father loved them dearly
I had my daughter age of 16 yes old far away from home and her dad passed away . I look after my daughter the best I can . Today she's 32 yrs. And I am very proud I raised her and love her ...
I was thinking the same thing at first, but the didn't play the whole video or any personal parts of the video. Just the begining clip so that we could get the idea/emotion of it
I think maybe bc the father died so suddenly she wanted to make a video to make sure her son knows that she loved him very much and wanted him but circumstances weren’t there. Honestly I would have done the same knowing my baby’s father passed away suddenly. Life is fleeting and when you are face to face with the reality you make certain decisions.
I think open adoption is the best way to go. Although I personally could never give up my child, this was a beautiful story that I feel will work out for all. When Tag is older, he will know Hannah as his mother and fortunately, will have grown up knowing and loving her, so neither will have missed out on all those special moments over the years that so many adoptees miss out on.
I can't believe how many are suggesting that Hannah was upset with Emily when Emily answered the question of, "What will Tag call Hannah?" Emily mentioned a couple of suggestions, and as her sentence was trailing off she said "whatever", as in whatever he's comfortable with. In finishing that thought (or sentence), Hannah said with a smile, "Whoever", in agreement with Emily. For those trying to throw shade or create drama where there isn't any, go back and watch it again. Hannah was not annoyed or irritated! These woman are both more mature than most of those who have commented!
The only thing that would worry me is what if the kid I have put in an open adoption wants to come live with me when they are 9 or 10, and I am better off financially? Omg, I would just be torn to bits to have to tell them no. I admire these brave parents for loving these kids and doing the absolute best for them.
When I was 19 I was talking to a girl for about a month before we met up properly and got together. Abit of a crazy story but she was actually pregnant, but during the time I was with her you couldn't really tell until she was roughly 7 months gone. Some say I was stupid but I decided to stay in the relationship and see her around 2-3 days a week. I practically brought her daughter up for two and a half years before the relationship ended and she prevented me from seeing the child. I can tell you from that experience that the love you have for the child is absolutely ridiculous. You expect to be distant from the child but you end up seeing them as your own. It tore me apart when I couldn't see her anymore, fast forward a little under 2 years and I know have a daughter of my own who is absolutely precious to me.
She is strong, I could not have let go of the last piece of my baby's father. So selfless, so much love. God bless you & your very special family. 💙 btw I was adopted when I was 9 years old, I wish my birth mom would have been as selfless as you so I could have had at least a decent childhood not filled with abuse. NOT SAYING THAT SHE WOULD HAVE ABUSED HER CHILD, WANNA MAKE THAT CLEAR.
That's tuff what you went through as a young child, it's nice you were adopted, and created a family, with your new parents, unfortunately I stayed with the person who gave birth to me, wasn't easy.
cant imagine giving my baby up & ive never had kids- i truly feel for the mom ugh so so selfless i cant even fathom im to selfish id make it work no matter what but she is very realistic she knew what had to be done i hope the adoptive parents never stop the contact for an open adoption.
Wow! That baby's biological mothers facial expression when the adoptive mother said he calls her Auntie Hannah! She had that whatever look on her face!
Please realize God is sovereign and is always working for good in our lives. Trust that God had your best interests at heart when you were adopted. Perhaps you could seek out your birth parents. Today the laws have lapsed a lot and there are reunions all over the country. Godspeed in whatever you decide and where ever life takes you.
Giving your adopted child his bio family is a HUGE gift to these adoptees. My cousin was adopted and never knew until her adopted parents passed away. She was so traumatized because the life she knew wasn't real if that makes any sense. People that shield these kids from their bio parents and family is very harsh on them emotionally when they find out because they will. You are being very selfish. How wonderful for this family.
Thus story is so beautiful! I love how this couple explained their views and how they want their children to know where they came from. Honestly I think the way they have chose to have a open adoption and go about it is the best way possible. Their children will never have the questions that so many adopted children have. They will always know who their birth mother is and they will always know that she loves them and she did this bc it was the best decision. They will never felt throw away and not loved.
I couldn’t do it I had my first child at 20 and he was a preemie at 27 weeks that was really hard! My boy is now 38 thank God yes I raised him finished college and all!
I feel bad for the grandparents on the dad's side. They lost their child and then they lost the last piece of him that was left. That's heartbreaking. Glad the child has a loving family with great parents.
U r a great man! WOW not many r like u today
To u ar e strong Man indeed
God is Really Good..
You ar e a blessed man
I salute you Sir I don't know you but I love you and thank you for sharing !
Thank God for you. Your children have a great father. Im sure they will be just as strong and loving like you.
As the daughter of a single father, y'all aren't given enough credit for the sacrifice you go thru as well to love on your children. God bless you and my dad.
I have a friend who had an open adoption with her son many years ago and she’s still part of his and his family’s life today.
That is beautiful, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s a beautiful thing to share!
God bless you, & thank you for sharing. I'm sorry for the loss of your mother.
@@CarlaMWard-
I am so sorry, I hope and pray that it will get better.
I wondered about mine for so many years
Try again, but in English this time.
i find it disrespectful that the lady interviewing hannah interrupted her and asked how her boyfriend died. i know she was probably curious but she could've at least waited until she was finished talking.
gracie paige she does this to EVERYONE. I can't stand her.
Jayy Dee oh dang😕 she's disrespectful 🙄
Ikr! Just because she’s the interviewer doesn’t mean she can be rude
I can't imagine giving up the only part of what's left from the love of my life.
I agree...She does not speak much of the bio father...nothing on their relationship, nothing on her loss...
Exactly
@@evelina2363 : This was/is the 'story' of how and why the mom gave Taggart to another family...it isn't a story about her OR the father or their relationship...it's about Taggart!
Right. He’s all she had left.
💛👏🏻💛👏🏻
God bless you
This is so much better that abortion.
I'm so happy they went through with the open adoption.
i thought it was very rude when she asked “how did he die” like?.. she could have been more respectful and said “may i ask how he passed?” or something along those lines.
ciyarah eliana No more ruder than giving your child up for adoption.
ciyarah eliana exactly what I thought
She said “May I just ask you, how did he die?” I don’t really think it was rude, but we all have our opinions.
@@brianjohnson1360 she was doing what she thought was right for him.
Brian Johnson she wasn’t being rude by doing that, she did what’s best for him.She was single and would never be able to raise him by herself.
This birth mother is amazing!! What a beautiful act of love to give her son what’s best in life. And the adoptive parents are also wonderful. You have to be very solid in yourself as a person and parent to offer that kind of close relationship with the biological mother!
Beautifully said.❤️
I have the upmost respect for Hannah and all the birth parents that make this heart-wrenching and life changing decision. It is not done lightly at all. I don't understand why people shame these families so much.
I’m adopted. I don’t know you mom but I love you and hope to meet you one day. I thank you everyday for your decision.
Hi
Thankyou for sharing your story. X
Do you get to see or talk to her?
And why did you feel you needed to give her up? That it was the best decision for you both? (Don't feel like you have to answer if it's too hard. I'm just curious.)
My son will ALWAYS know how loved he is! He is so amazing. I gave him life she gave him a life.
As the daughter of a single dad I am blessed that he sacrificed the best years of his life for me. I am thankful for him everyday.

I would have given him to the fathers parents. Thats all they have left of their son.
The grandparents of the boy wanted to raise him
I think that's very unfair to them that the mother of the child decided to give him up for adoption and the grandparents not only lost their son but grandson.
Don't biological grandparents have any rides?
It is a very sad story actually
@@veronicadamico7976 why would the grandparents have more of a say than the mother? She made the right choice, and he's with the right family.
It is a open adoption he can still see and know his bio family and she can still see him. You cant judge on something like this it's just not Right
If they wanted to raise the baby then they would've, and I'm sure she also would've passed the baby on to them, since in her recent video she said how kind and loving they were.
U r right. Her family or his family couldnt support one child? Thats a shame.
Such a beautiful blended family. They are amazing people all of them.
I'm amazed of their love and respect for each other.

These people are amazing.. putting your child's happiness above all the many selfish emotions.. God bless these folks!
@S W "People always project their own emotions on situations" - YES! You could apply this statement to almost every comment on RUclips. So very true.

I am really happy that she is still apart of his life
I was adopted when I was 3 years old ..
This is the most beautiful thing, that I have ever seen .
This is what love is !
❤️💜❤️. I cried, so hard, throughout this whole story.
I just love this!! 💕 that family is just such amazing people and it takes courage to raise those kids the way they’re doing it. Wow!! So amazing. 😊
umm anyone else think the death of the father sounds strange
marie villarreal not really, because people really do die in their sleep. Now the cause of it idk
Two months ago my dad died in his sleep, too. Nobody knows why. Unfortunately that's not that unusual
Yea because he’s still young. Maybe he had a disease.
marie villarreal maybe a over dose n the family doesn’t want to tell the world what happens
My older brother was a 30 year old was healthy, worked out...went to sleep one night and his heart just stopped. Same painful autopsy reveal that it was just natural and sudden. It makes no sense...we all only have so much time
I LOVE ❤️ love, love, how the birth mom and the interviewer and adoptive parents use the term "place for adoption" and not the derogatory term
_give up_ for adoption.
This is the only other person/people that I've heard use those positive terms. I've been waiting for this for 21years to hear other people speak like this!!
I am a birth Mom myself and this is truly a decision, an arrangement for what is better for the baby. That's giving life!!!
Hannah is brave! That took a lot of love and strength!
Wow. I contemplated adoption, but once i got further along in my pregnancy and i felt those flutters and kicks, i realized that my baby was alive and this was all seeming real to me! I fell in love with my daughter! And i could never give her away.
Well you couldn't and well done but she felt it was best for her child.
I am so proud of you.
I wish more birth mothers were given the support they need, or at least the ugly truths about the American adoption industry.
meet the gal who found out, to her blessed relief, that her mother was a woman.
I don’t want my kid. Being a single mom is embarrassing
Link to video?
This was filmed in 2018, there is no updated video.
Victoria Mares more info please!!
Sunset_Myx yes there is go look at her channel she made a video 3 months after this one
It’s on the birth mothers RUclips channel
incredible mother
It takes a lot of courage to do this. God bless you.
Unconditional love here. We need way more people like this.
All these comments about "better with Birth Mom", as if DNA has anything to do with being "better". In my humble opinion, there are far too many people out there who should keep their DNA to themselves...
DharmaOfDog 🙌🙌
I agree!
Any child is better with her mother, as long as the mother shows that she is capable to love. And in this case, the natural mother is beyond capable. So even if this looks ok too, actually it looks wonderful, at the same time she could have taken care of him.
It depends on the case... not all.
There's birth control. No one should have a child they don't want. You could be giving your gift to awful people.
Well I also did not like the wording that the dad use about receiving a child
Not "put up" on them.
no. hard no. we are not objects. we are not placed.
At least it's not as horrible as the old "gave the baby away"!
I love this concept and the adoptive parents , so much love and genuinety from them
My son just passed December 7 2019 and he left behind two sons and 1 daughter and a daughter on the way we are here to support her emotionally and financially this is the last link to my son and I will give my grandbabies they love that there dad would of gave them and to make sure to let them know that there father loved them dearly
I so sorry to hear of your loss.
How wonderful, you have grandchildren, from your son .
I have sons and would exactly the same.
We done Grandmother x
@@wandarask8444 thank you and yes we would
How sweet that babies mom is. She was not selfish and wanted what was best for the baby.
Wonderful, you all did the right thing and Tag is so adorable! Blessings to your beautiful family. ❤️
I had my daughter age of 16 yes old far away from home and her dad passed away . I look after my daughter the best I can . Today she's 32 yrs. And I am very proud I raised her and love her ...
I'm confused why she released the video publicly? Wasn't this perhaps a video she made to pass onto him when he gets older or a personal thing.
I was thinking the same thing at first, but the didn't play the whole video or any personal parts of the video. Just the begining clip so that we could get the idea/emotion of it
She released it to show the reasons parents give their children up for adoption.
True, she clearly was not cut out to be a Mom. Way too selfish.
I cried watching this what a strong woman
I think open adoption is the best way to go. Although I personally could never give up my child, this was a beautiful story that I feel will work out for all. When Tag is older, he will know Hannah as his mother and fortunately, will have grown up knowing and loving her, so neither will have missed out on all those special moments over the years that so many adoptees miss out on.
Hannah you are so brave. I am proud of your choice. Adoption is such a beautiful thing.
Just look at him he is just gorgeous!! Lovely to see not just open adoption but a close expanded new family even x
Thank God I kept my babies. It was hard but God was with us thru the entire way!
I'm so happy she knew and did what was best for him
The only thing that would worry me is what if the kid I have put in an open adoption wants to come live with me when they are 9 or 10, and I am better off financially?
Bless these mothers for making the right decision, and for bringing life into a home.
This makes me cry
Wow! That baby's biological mothers facial expression when the adoptive mother said he calls her Auntie Hannah! She had that whatever look on her face!
Homeschool Royalty gosh, WHO IS SHE?
@@kaiyazierk1126 Who's who?
Homeschool Royalty i think she meant who you meant by “she”? the adoptive mother or biological mother
@@monikaaaaaaa01 Oh okay. I meant the biological mom's (blond lady) reaction to what the adoptive mom (brunette lady) said.
She did actually say whatever.. in an annoyed way.. I hope they really get along as they are portraying on the show..
That melted my heart. How precious.
What an awesome idea you had to help your son later in life! I am an adoptee full of feelings of rejection my whole life!
Very brave people, all. Not many could take that step. Wonderful result.
They have no right to the child, he's not their property.
@@xxx-ie9icNo he’s not their property BUT he’s their grandson who could have raised him plenty of grandparents raise their grandkids
You get to a peace within you of understanding of what your decision is
She did a selfless act. My daughter did the same thing. To give a child a good future. It’s selfless.
