I have a "Lucille." I've had her for about 10 years now. She spends most of her time in her plush lines case because I don't want her to get all scratched up. I don't want no "relic" Lucille. My Lucille is not for sale and never will be. I'm almost 67 years old now and when I pass on, Lucille will go to my Brother In Law who is a Luthier and I know he will take good care of her. I still play and sing but I just wish I could play just half as good as some of these guys on You Tube and that includes you Brian. You should have given Lucille a good workout in this video. Oh I love to hear someone play who can really make Lucille scream. I'm not that person but I sure wish I was. You guys have a great day now!
I bought my Gibson "Lucille" in 2006 and I love this guitar. I will never ever sell her. She has a sound thats out of this world. I don't play her a whole lot cause I don't want to get her all dinged and scratched up. My intent was to take her to a BB King concert and have him autograph her and get my picture made with BB and me holding my Lucille but sadly, BB passed away before I could get that accomplished. IMO, Lucille has an even better sound than a Gibson LP and that is saying something.
I like to think that in the guitar spectrum there’s this one Gibson BB King Lucille 355 with 2 tones 2 volumes 2 pickups, T6 Tail Piece, 6 way Baritone Switch, and Stereo jack output with no F Holes for feedback, and in the other side the Gibson Tom DeLonge ES 333 with 1 volume, 1 pickup, 1 jack, everything else is in between
@@stratocastermaster9 If it’s Gibson, Custombucker > ‘57 Classics > T-Top > 490 > BB1 > BB3. I had BB1 and BB2 in my 57 Historic LP and couldn’t have swapped fast enough, not just sound but touch. Anything less than Custombucker I put in Ox4s, Fralin Pure PAFs or Throbaks in that order
@@stratocastermaster9 which is crazy since Alnico V is higher output and typically the harsher magnet than A2. My starting point is a pickup has to be asymmetrically wound then A4 or A2. If A5 only short mags, but personal preference I’d take an A3 first - even in bridge
@@CenterThePendulum All depends on what tones you are going for. If your going A3 then your basically after the clear less bassy tones. Iv done the magnet swop thing tried them all. Apart from alnico 8. And not every version of the same grade magnet sound the same , charge / rough cast / polished ect.
The 'tone selector' thing sounds awful to me; just increasing a nasty treble each notch. I love all of Brian's videos and I'm sure this is a sublime guitar to play.
MrMjp58 I have one on my es137 custom and don’t really use it. My understanding is that it switches between different cap values. In practice, it just makes the guitar thinner and thinner as you move it around. I find that in the middle position you can get some thin funky type sounds, but it’s very niche.

hey dont forget the ground up and glued together sawdust crap that the fretboard is made out of. I would NEVER buy a guitar with anything other than a solid wood fretboard but hey thats just me
Probably the classiest guitar I've ever seen. If I ever make good money, a Gibson Lucille will be in my collection.
you can do the same thing with Epiphone's Lucille
at half the money .
LuckyB .. I’m sure if you had the money you was choosing the epi over the Gibson .

2 years later how is she?
Nice words My2ube....I wonder how much a Gibson Lucille will cost now?
Let me buy it 100 dollars
My2ube You spent a shit load of money on something you can't even play? That's like buying a Rolls Royce and not knowing how to drive it. LAME! 😂
Mine arrives Friday. When my last gig is done it will go to my wonderful son 😉
I'm a Strat guy, but I have one of these in a 2000 model. It is Classy & a nice change once in awhile. RIP Mr King
the tones you can have on this is just insane
Digging the rhythm tone dude got at around 3:00 after tweaking Varitone switch. Pretty cool.

Hi there
Lucille is only black?
I was lucky enough to get mine signed . My priceless piece. And I play it all the time on gigs.
Love the Colors
Love those awesome funk chops my brother. Reminds me of the 80's, a wonderful time for good dance music and just a wonderful time to be alive.
Iconic Guitar
dude thats from today. thanks, best one i've found so far
Man oh man I wish I had the money to buy that beauty
Nice chops. Great sound.
That guitar sings man! Definitely a 335 with more tone and vibe than I've ever heard.
Can you please do bends like BB King with Vibrato. Please use the BB KingSeries L-5 Amp cranked up to 9 like BB did. I love ❤️ this guitar 🎸
Sounds Great
:'( it sounds so pretty, my pockets are even weeping

It's June 2020 and I don't see these for sale. Also Epiphone stopped selling their version. I actually want a Lucille.
Thanks for showing me how to use the varitone switch I've been interested in this guitar for a while now.
You don’t know how to move a simple dial ????? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
How does the varitone switch work? What does it actually do? Is it capacitors pr resistors? Before or after the potentiometers?
what's the name of the u are playing sounds awesome
hello, what is the best thickness of strings to put on such a guitar? room?
How can you tell what year it was made? and which is better made China or Korea?
I see why BB liked it
Im not a bb king fan but these guitar makes me
A custom shop Gibson with 490s seems so odd still
They have the strongest mid range. Burstbucker ect. Are not really any better just different.

is it versatile in terms of if is it good to play things such as hard rock and that stuff other than jazz and blues?
Jesus MedinaP Bro Lucille was built to play jazz and blues. You better off with a strat or tele for anything else.
Dave Grohl has either a 335 or a similar model to it and he plays some heavy stuff with it. cCheck it out !
can i play deathcore with this guitar?
asr 01 naah wont work well :/
Lol
But, does it Metal and Djent?
Michael Gira

Epiphone bb king guitars are just as good and alot cheaper
