I’m sorry. I’m not really sure what the question is. The old exit signs didn’t have the side lights on them. We showed a comparison between the old style and the new style. This was in an older building where the exit signs in a power outage were powered by the battery in the adjacent emergency light. These new exit signs have their own back up battery. However we kept the existing emergency lights anyway because having a redundant back up didn’t sound like a bad idea. I hope this cleared it up.
When shutting of the breaker I noticed it was labeled 125/277 do I need to attach the red wire to the black one coming through the wall and cap the black one on the light?
We were not connecting them to the 277 so you would need to consult your manual . I am sorry this is a late reply. Just now getting around to all these comments! Enjoy the New Year!
Exit signs can be called exit lights, cuz they are just light fixtures with exit lettering and exit lettering faceplates, and illuminates red or green (in Chicago, Canada, or any other foreign country, they illuminate white)
The old signs were quality... but functional? They were not working as intended and the battery systems would not support the outdated lighting systems. These new ones with lithium and Led technology were easy to install and I am proud to report that during our last power outage they lasted for hours upon hours. Almost 10 hours. I am very satisfied with this new product and are glad we made the upgrade :-)
They are not Lithonia Lighting “ripoffs” the actual combo was made by Jiming, but Lithonia Lighting rebranded it, also the ones they installed was Spectsun’s signs (which was also a rebranded Jiming but more better quality).
Why do my lights turn on when plugging in the red/black light cable to the battery wire harness as you did. My 2 lights stay on all the time!
Pretty good video with clear instructions
Why would you install a exit sign combo right beside a emergency light
We are removing the old lights. But good eye...
Oh okay
What happens to the old exit signs you replaced
They were retired after 40 years of faithful service...
Why did you also install a generic than a new dual lite.

@@SkyManagement I think he’s asking why you replaced the sign with a cheap bad unit rather than a more expensive higher quality unit

The dual lite signs did so much better
if you replace any more old signs, a future tip is to sell off the old units. you can get a good buck, as people really want those older signs
We do that with some upgrades. Never thought of it with the exit signs though. I’ll have to look into that next time. Thanks :)
There was absolutely I thing wrong with the old signs.
0:17 exit lights💀💀💀💀

Always nice seeing high quality, functional signs being replaced with generic trash 🙄

I always hate installing these things because they're so flimsy and cheap!
Those models are ripoffs to Lithonia.
Unsure what you mean but they work. I will look into the brand you suggest...
@@SkyManagement you should look in to dual lite
@@Dominantbro Dual Lite is overrated imo
@@queencitysirens8755 yeah it is
