I don't think anything sticks to silicon. I don't think silicon sticks very well to cured silicone. Sadly paint would just flake away, without pores and texture to grip to. Paint has to absorb into something to really stick.

I really want to make these! I'm thinking about making a mold of some inserts I have to support my arches (the current design is flat-footed). I feel like the silicone would very easily hold up to the pressure and would support my foot without being too hard. This sounds like a ton of fun!

you can use a hot glue gun and make zig zag patterns on the bottom of the soles so that you have more grip :)
