A very nice selection of gorgeous looking books Dave! The 3 issues of Lomax was actually titled Police Action, and it was a split book with 10 pages allocated to the Lomax N.Y.P.D. feature, and 10 pages for the Luke Malone, Manhunter character. I thought the title had some good potential as they weren't any other crime/police comic book series at this point (love the broad range of genres of the Atlas/Seaboard line). Police Action is also one of the rare series of their line to have kept the same creative teams, and same direction for the whole short run. Luke Malone was drawn by none other than Mike Ploog, but the sad part is that his art was ruined with very poor inking by Frank Springer. So, while I still think it was one of the most underrated series of the line, I always have mixed feelings when I see a cover of Police Action.
Fantastic haul Dave ! Love all the silver and bronze variety . Sweet Joker Batman cover . Always nice to see those great Archie comics getting some love . I’d never seen that GK Captain Venture book, and Doctor Solar is always a welcome addition. Wonderful ST issues with Kirby and Ditko and ditto on the Disney books . Are you getting the George Wilson art book that’s coming out this year? Thanks for sharing more of your great collection 😊
Shannon, thanks for watching. I do plan on getting the Wilson book, but have not ordered it. They keep pushing the date back -- I just noted on Amazon it is now scheduled for October? I think this is the second time they have rescheduled? Beginning to wonder if it is doomed?
@@spinnerrackstudios I know, It seems like it might go the way of the Charlton Comics documentary that was supposed to come out years ago and we still haven’t seen 😳 My son and dinlaw preordered the Wilson book for me as a Christmas gift and it was supposed to come out next month but Like you , I saw where it had been pushed back to October
Another great assortment of killer comics! I love the Captain Venture particularly! Ive never seen this one before now! I dig the Bob Hope series. There's just so many great covers in the run. Im putting together a Gold Key live stream in August. Would you be interested in guesting?
Mike, would be happy to be on the livestream, but it depends on the date. August is shaping up to be very busy. I am taking a week of vacation in August, and also my sister and I are talking about going down to Arizona in August to help my elderly parents pack up and move. So, there is a good chance I may not be around. Thanks on the comments about the comics. I have two short boxes of assorted books I pulled a few months ago for the Four Color Fossils show, but with the demise of that show, I will be doing my own videos of them.
