This is a big one for me - it was the first video you released after I decided you would be my AoS Lore Purveyor of choice when first getting interested in the setting. I've now watched my way through to this point, and I can say with confidence that your videos are great! Well delivered, good length, and with the focus in exactly the right place: why is this cool? Thanks for all your hard work, and I'm looking forward to getting properly up to date some time this year 😃
Best wishes, positive thoughts, and prayers for your journey. "Culture is not your friend." Terence McKenna Personally, I've been listening to a lot of Alan Watts and other philosophers. Been listening to the Dao De Ching, read by Wayne Dyer, at least once a week for a while now. May you find what you are searching for. *Spoiler Alert:* You already have what you are searching for. The destination you desire to be at, you're already there. It's all inside you. Peace. Love.
I found some of my friend's old Warhammer models from back when we were kids recently, with a whole battalion of unbuilt Bretonnians. Been using them for some seriously fun conversions with the Flesh Eater Courts. All shambling in ancient armor and rusted weapons, but completely convinced of their splendid heraldry and luxuriance.
Woah, I used to work near that crow roost (like ten years ago or so). Calling the sky black with crows isn't an exaggeration. Also, thanks for talking about the Blisterskin, I'm honored! It would be awesome to hear about one of the Idoneth Enclaves that focus on Namarti, like, but not necessarily, Dhom-hain.
It's wery hard to keep an army unite - you need logistic, economy, supply, command hierarchy and so on. But there is one thing that can solve all theese problems - it's madness!
Great video! Been a big fan of yours for awhile. It was interesting what you were saying about your personal relationship with your faith and religion. Even when religious institutions and figures highjack Christianity for their own ends, the faith itself and the love of Jesus Christ will not be diminished! Please don’t let people stop you from having a personal relationship with God!
Flying vampire beasts make me want a unit of Vargheists for my Soulblight real bad. As for Subfaction, I'd love to see your take on Har Kuron and all the Druchii forces that comprise its armies. How would they interact day to day? Are there similar forces in Ulgu? Do the Daughters run everything, or would the Dread Lords of the Order Serpentis also have a commanding role?
Blisterskins feel like they would grossout nurgle followers with their sunburns. Also subfaction idea: undergut ogors, they stand in stark contrast to their home realm
I’m sorry to hear you walking away from your faith but I’m glad you were able to use it to compare your personal journey with your thoughts on this army. Thank you for your take and ideas! Also side note lol, I was wondering what possible motivation or loot Gloomspite Gitz could get from fighting Khorne demons other than stopping them from wiping them out lol XD
Okay that finally made sense of the Flesheater Courts to me, cos i just couldn't wrap my head around what they were actually meant to be. The miniatures don't really seem to sell the idea all that well - like why are the basic troops all weird gnarly undead monsters when they're meant to be insane messed up cannibals but still essentially living humans? That new Ushoran model though, wheewwww i need it
Would love to see GW expand this army a bit, though I’m a Chaos player these guys have some of the best lore around. Would definitely build an army of these if they were to get a bit more love
Flesh-Eater Courts are probably my favorite faction. I *love* that aesthetic of ruined finery, degenerate royalty, all that stuff - I *live* for the aesthetics of ruin.
I don’t know if there is enough GW or any lore for khorks. Orks that follow or love to fight against kHorne. Would love to see if it’s possible to do a video on them
This was awesome Doug! Especially appreciate the personal connection you shared with this lore review. 🙌 Can you do the Celestial Vindicators for the Stormcast?
When one of them are struck down and destroyed do FEC creatures go to the same afterlife as the knights and other noble warriors they see themselves as? The curse is a delusion so it would only seem fitting to me. Not sure if this is explained in the lore.
@2Tough I have the newest tome available but I do not remember reading anything in there about that. I am going to double check. One thing I read today was interesting: Stormcast Ordinators have scryed into the minds of some creatures of the flesh eater courts. They can see how their intent is actually noble and curse is creating the delusion and all the savage violence. But do not see any clear path of redemption for them. Even if you broke the curse what would you be left with? I suppose if you tear someone's grandma in half and drink the blood, not many are going to give you the benefit of the doubt no matter the delusion.
@2Tough Found our answer! Page 13 of the most recent FEC battle tome. Under the sub heading: "No rest for the wicked-The underworlds of Shyish are carved out of the collective belief of myriad mortals. A give culture's conception of the afterlife is formed from the raw amethyst magic of the Realm of Death, and it is to this land that souls of that culture go upon their death. The Mordants of the courts, despite their deathly pallor, are living creatures possessed of souls, and in the depths of their insanity still hold to the beliefs of their old culture regarding the afterlife. So it was that when a new court was formed, the afterlife into which its mordants passed when they died remained largely unchanged. Courts who believed themselves to be pastoral fiefdoms had underworlds in which spirits dwelt amongst lush fields, spending days rearing herds of livestock and nights making merry with their fellow honoured dead. Similarly, Mordants who saw themselves as gallant beast slayers spent their afterlife slaughtering endless series of monstrosities holding aloft the severed heads as commoners showered them with flower petals. Many of these underworlds were reserved for those who lived pure and just lives, cleaving to chivalric codes and resisting temptation. Conversely, an afterlife of torment and penance awaited those who strayed from the path of honour. But in their deranged minds. Mordants saw themselves as paragons of virtue, shielding the weak from evil while remaining untouched by corruption. This could not be further from the truth, yet their unshakable belief in the nobility of their actions ensured that, upon death, they pass blissfully into an underworld alongside the other souls of their decayed civilization. The necroquake in Shyish sent so much death energy everywhere that it ruined that for them. They carry their current existence with them Terrorizing the spirits there and sometimes are so deluded they rise to fight with the still living counterparts. SO historically yes they would go to a noble afterlife but now the answer is no due to necroquake.
I love the FEC lore. Their psychic delusion is so powerful it can start to warp what opponents see during the battle

Holy moly that sounds cool when you finish can we see it?
I wonder if the Blisterskin ever allied with Firebellies. Perhaps their delusions would make them see the Firebellies as saints of a sort.
Please do the Gristlegore (FEC) or the Avengorii Dynasty (SBG) next! What goes better with the spooky season than giant undead monsters!
Great call outs!!!
i feel like gristlegor gets enough attention.. lol
@@josephzipprich775 Do you mean on tabletop or lorewise? If you mean tabletop, that's not really relevant here.

If they have enough lore, I'd like to see a video on Dracothian's Tail, and exploring the relationship between Dracothian and the Seraphon.
Great suggestion! Just saved this to my to-do list!
Just found you this morning and have been building miniatures to your videos, keep it up man I am enjoying the content
Definitely a cool concept for a faction.

I like the lore behind the FEC, but the thought of painting all those little guys gives me a fit
Hey man, your lore videos are the best on RUclips. I wouldn't know a thing about AOS if not for this channel.

Absolutely loving the subfaction focuses!
I would love to hear you do Blessed Sons from Nurgle some time
Great suggestion! Just saved this to my to-do list!

Im loving these new sub faction videos id love to see some coverage on the tempest lords for SCE!
Just saved this to my to-do list! :)
I hope they do something more with the ghouls, maybe another death and destruction army
yes! I was hoping for more flesh eater lore!
Flesh-Eater Courts are probably my favorite faction. I *love* that aesthetic of ruined finery, degenerate royalty, all that stuff - I *live* for the aesthetics of ruin.
I love the Flesh Eater Courts Lore. :)
All my favourite factions

What was the denomination?
Clan moulder I think hot a lot more lore this time in skaven battletome so it might be cool to check them out

I will absolutely be looking into this when the new book drops!! (Assuming it has lore on it, but I’ll draw conclusions regardless)

I crave a new destruction video or another death faction.
Thanks for sharing that bit of personal lore Doug! Wishing you luck upon your journey
