I agree. Many, many hours on the drill pad. Our drill team did not have rifles, that adds another element of difficulty. The Cadets were great. I appreciate all the time and practice that have put in. They have learned discipline and self control. Those skills will follow them them the rest of their lives. Instills in me that there are good youth in this world.

I was at the military school in Zaria and handled my first rifle at age 10, first firing live ammunition at age 12. The benefits of starting this level of rigor at an early age are immeasurable.

One of the most amazing and fantastic military display I've ever seen seen in all my years, our people just have such uniqueness in them and i think that's what they're all afraid of, but we will prevail.
Extremely well disciplined and well trained young men. They could compete against our high school drill teams in the U.S.A. They used silent commands which takes a lot of practice. The FAL rifles they used are heavy and long.

These aren't even military officers. They are military secondary school (high school) students. Drills of commissioned officers will amaze you even more.
Nigerians are great soldiers. In WW2 they served with great bravery in N. Africa and Burma. My husband was born in Jos and likes to boast he is ' Dan Hausa !'
Having served myself, and seeing very similar British Army Drill moves (although some not ours). Takes me back to my younger days. Drill was tough work. Many man hours in front of scrap Drill Sgt Majors. You dare not make a mistake. Good drills make a disciplined soldier. Everything we do us drilled into us til it comes second nature. Especially correct weapons drills (not on the square), in maintaining and looking after our weapons. In basic training everything is by the numbers. Once you are a trained soldier its just part of who you are. These young men will always be proud to have served. Like every military warrior in all branches and nations. Good drills lads.

So the peace we (Nigerians) brought to Sierra Leone and Liberia and the sacrifices (lives and money) that our people made in the anti-apartheid South Africa isn't being useful? Why are we always complaining that Nigeria isn't doing enough? Haven't you seen how the Nigerian medical volunteers travelled round Africa and ended the Ebola virus crises while the westerners were busy spelling doom for Africa? Our medicals risked 100% of their lives just like our soldiers. We helped these countries through GOD when they couldn't help themselves. I think the Nigerian government should hire a press team that'll be screaming about all the sacrifices Nigeria is making for other countries so that Nigerians like you who are always complaining that Nigeria isn't doing enough will be reminded that we're doing more than enough without asking for ANYTHING in return! I think we should start that asking that in return these countries must teach their people the sacrifices that Nigeria made and is making for them!

So the peace we (Nigerians) brought to Sierra Leone and Liberia and the sacrifices (lives and money) that our people made in the anti-apartheid South Africa isn't being useful? Why are we always complaining that Nigeria isn't doing enough?
Haven't you seen how the Nigerian medical volunteers travelled round Africa and ended the Ebola virus crises while the westerners were busy spelling doom for Africa? Our medicals risked 100% of their lives just like our soldiers. We helped these countries through GOD when they couldn't help themselves.
I think the Nigerian government should hire a press team that'll be screaming about all the sacrifices Nigeria is making for other countries so that Nigerians like you who are always complaining that Nigeria isn't doing enough will be reminded that we're doing more than enough without asking for ANYTHING in return!
I think we should start that asking that in return these countries must teach their people the sacrifices that Nigeria made and is making for them!
