I had some of these about 20 years ago. They were vintage then and made by somebody else back then. Very cool though. I’m glad someone is making these again.
I found the box that it came in, with the packing inside gave one of the best sounds out of the multitude of elements I tried. That includes the ceiling tiles that are supposed to be the best. The ceiling tile is dense, and requires a larger exciter than I bought. Anyway, I wound up using a small round paper mache box and a half round piece of Styrofoam that I got from Michael's. The sound is decent for music, but the hollow box sound comes out when listening to people talking. It's a work in progress :)
In theory they should all do 20 - 20.000 hertz +/- a bit maybe. But it is highly dependant on what they're attached to, especially on the low end. Big cardboard boxes for example tend to have a lot of low end, whereas a square piece of xps has very natural sounding highs and mids. These exciters never really get too low though. This is a little late, I know..
I keep thinking these would be so perfect to use as Dolby Atmos surrounds. No need to bounce sound off the ceiling if the ceiling is the actual speaker. One of these days I'm gonna find out.
@@PartsExpressOfficial Oh no, im not using this particular model. Its a brand called headwave tag. Same tech but more compact, wireless, battery operated, and weatherproof. Specifically made for helmets. ruclips.net/video/rNBc88eGJS0/видео.html
These would be great to supplement a soundbar for surround sound in an RV. Use the exciters for the back surround speakers. Space savers extraordinaire!
Thanks James. Two of these (295-222 Exciters) will be hooked to a Royal Rife Frequency Generator, that generates cancer killing frequencies. The two exciters will be taped to the woman's abdomen to induce the frequencies directly to the cancer cells. I hope this works.
Sounds like these do better the larger the surface area is. I've ordered the 40w 32mm bass shaker and the DAEX25 pair to install in my warehouse. Definitely thinking after this video that sheets of thin MDF are going to give me the best sound quality and projection.
Nice video! Can you also provide links to purchase the white connectors and other material you need to set this up. Do you need an amplifier or can it take sound input directly from my cellphone?
What parts would be necessary to build the amplifier? How would we power it? I teach a service project class in middle school and this is perfect for one of my students.
There is a lot that you can do with exciters. You may want to call one of our technical advisers to talk you through and set you up with what you need for your class. Info Below 👇 Email: Tech@Parts-Express.com Phone: 1-800-338-0531 Hours 8am-6pm M-F EST / Closed Sat & Sun
Would you consider these a viable alternative to home theater speakers if put on bigger panels? I know it all depends on the material and size of surface but do you think they can get pretty loud? I imagine these beautiful 2x4" wooden panels on each side of my TV producing good sound quality but I only see them in applications where they dont get very loud
I think the frequency response would be wonky with these as-is. With wood panels , I assume there will be a huge bump in mid to mid-bass frequencies. So maybe your 2x4 panel with an added tweeter and some crossover network to tweak the sound would work. The thinner the panel the better the response will be according to some of the RUclips vids I have seen. It makes sense since you are vibrating the substrate. The less dense the substrate (wood panel in your case) the easier to get it vibrating. Good luck!
I really would love to hear the quality of sound on a Displate? That would be amazing if someone can hook us up so we know if our system can also be art.
Just a guess, but that would probably sound pretty good. Exciters are really good on large sheets of material and so its reasonable that a Displate would resonate well.
Hi. Is there any model that can be strapped to body (chest) and simulate low frequencies like an on a concert or near big speakers. Like you can feel the vibrations that you can't hear kinda like subpac or woojer from kickstarter?
You will need an amplifier but DJs usually use these to throw silent raves even. Its pretty awesome! Part numbers on our website: 300-388 (16 ohm) 300-386 (8 ohm) 300-389 (4 pack of 16 ohm) 300-3880 (optional mounting ring)
Most exciters are 4 ohms, so if your receiver is compatible, it works better than the headphone jack. They make the 8 ohm ones too, so look at the specs before you buy.
Haha..should I..?..I mean i do hate these people ..do those things work that good because I'll do it and record the reactions that happen as they come to my apartment door
It depends on your level of expectation. However, I can tell you that most people that hear them are like, "Thats way better than I thought they were going to sound." Especially in the loudness factor. Why don't you try a few and be creative to see if if its worth investing more.
ok..thats sounds like good advise ..thanks ..Im gonna start with one on every ceiling in every room because i hate them flat footed bastast**ds the most then i"ll decide on the rest of the walls
I'll buy the biggest Watt version of these and attach it to the wall against my noisy neighbor at the apartment next time they are too loud lol BTW so what will I need to power them?
We have seen both really good and really bad when it comes to exciters. Its all about experimentation. We find that a lot of people really enjoy the creative side of speaker building just as much as the statistical side. While we believe it CAN be, even if a room doesn't sound as good as it could with conventional speakers, having a home theater where the walls ARE the speakers and it is completely invisible is worth the dip is technical quality. They are definitely a polarizing product for our customer base :) But we think they are pretty cool!
***** I didn't say they were Bad. I said it Depends on the Material. Now granted I am hearing them through my TV Speakers and not them actually. Using these combined with a Sub or Two would probably be the right choice for some people. The Folding Chair was Shit but PROBABLY could be made to sound Decent if Padding was added in the right spots to stop them sounding so Damn Tinny. This would get the Highs and some MIds, The Walls, more Mids and Bass, Subs The Punch of the Bass.
Exactly. We really want people to get excited (pun intended) about the versatility. Hopefully people will show us what they can come up with. There are so many possibilities, lets all just have some fun! :)

Styrofoam insulation sheets probably work better than ceiling tiles
Hmm, what is the frequency range? Is there some sort of standard test fixture to compare models?

This was my first thought as well
transducers are AMAZING!!!
So sad they are underrated. I use them on my helment for motorcycles. ITS AMAZING!!!!!
We would love to see a video of this! Let us know if you make one!

Does That Also Make your Hand into a Speaker as Well ???
Seems like the link on your description doesn't work anymore
Can I plug one of these into the line output of an audio interface or a powered mixer?
What part/model of speaker do you have there ? Thanks
massive glass window would look cool oak wood flooring could sound nice, hard woods in general should be good
bolton368 video speaker

Even a speaker can become a speaker!
Even someone's asshole can be a speaker
Ye
even a speaker can become a speaker. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How many volts does this need to work?
I want to fit one of these and a tiny Bluetooth amp board inside a display cube.

2:05 That's some serious trash music 😂😂😂😂 love it ❤
On the side of a Refrigerator?
What if I attached it to a floor standing speaker box?
Better try it and find out! SCIENCE!
How many ohms are typical transducers such as this one ?

What if you put the exciter on your forehead? 🤔
OUCH!

Will it induce the brown note?

Will a home audio receiver be enough to power the exciters?

Cell phone compatible?
The exciters need amplifiers to work. As long as your amplifier has Bluetooth or some way to connect to a cord to your phone, they will work.
I want one!!!!
This seems like a good way to annoy loud neighbours
hahahaha
Its bone conduction
Even your poop becomes a speaker!
Can a chicken nugget be a speaker?
probably....lol
Sound Quality depends on type of Material. The Folding Chair Sounding like Shit.
I started following this channel because I thought they where about high-fidelity audio, I had a thing like it can not replace anything ;)

how loud is that shit?
Whats the dub step song?
you should have used music we're familiar with.
no
Most of your stock is on back order....so I can't even order what I want lol
I'm buying a few dozen and sticking them to the inside of my garage door, hopefully I piss off a few neighbors.

Can I turn my girlfriend into a speaker?
Yes!

put them below her belly button and guess where the sound will come out from 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
