Yes. Rail Tavel has improved. But average speed of 103 kmph is nowhere near the speed of a fast train. In Japan, China and a few European countries fast train speeds are beyond 300 kmph.
Let us run well and try ourselves in Olympics. It is foolish to compare it with advanced countries. They are different from us and we had improved a lot.

Imagine comparing normal lines with dedicated high speed lines. Ya'all don't even know the difference ffs. Both china and japan also has normal railway lines which has similar speed as this, the dedicated high speed lines are different, they are generally elevated, india is already building that. These existing lines cannot be upgraded to run 300 kmph speed. It's impossible.
We are building a dedicated high speed corridor, Vande bharat is a semi high-speed train and currently it runs on normal tracks. Vande bharat is supposed to replace regular trains.
Thats impressive. Proactive thinking by IR to address overbooking of the VB train by increasing the rakes from 16 to 20. It is probably an entirely new trainset. Good job guys.

Suspension is better than a luxury Mercedes. But these tracks even when laid well are never going to do justice to this train's speed. High time we switch to standard gauge dedicated passenger corridoor or create our own high speed broad gauge ballastless track.

I am regular user of this train VB NDLS-BSB. I rode the 1st VB on 3rd day of its running coincidently. In my first journey on this train i got goosebumps all over the journey. It felt amazing at that time, i thought india has suddenly moved ahead so much. Only problem which i don't consider much of a problem on this route is , Tracks after Prayag till vns. Trains slows down after Prayag and runs mostly at 90 , some place with 110 max. If it maintains 130 on that route too it will reach VNS from Prayag in max 1 hour 15 minutes. But it has never been Late to Vns. Its a Gift to ppl of vns prayag and kanpur

subway line 18 and 22 in Guangzhou, China, are running 160km/h between some segments. It's started daily service in 2020. It's subway run in the city. Beijing and Chengdu also have subway run 160km/h.
I agree - the journey is great - good service - i recently went from Himachal and got off at Ambala where train stops only for two mins - it was such a huge problem to get off - i had to jump - with no help getting off by staff - lucky I didn’t fall or my foot go under the train . It was scary for me as a senior citizen That was my main complaint - other wise great service .

I’m currently in Africa, and I’ve just finished watching this video. From what I’ve seen, the level of development in India is pretty similar to that of a few African countries I’ve visited. The question is: why do countries at this level of development so often get compared to China on RUclips?
Considering the fare and the onboard food served I thank my God I don't have to travel by trains anymore. Oh for those spacious 1st classes with attached baths and toilets and the Brandon dining car services. Tea was tea, breakfasts were the real stuff - porridges, eggs on ham or bacon, toasts, marmaldes - lunches and dinners equally 5 course meals. Not to forget the beers for lunch and a bar at dinners
Great to see a modern train service in India. Just one other observation, the height from the platform to the train floor is too high, looks like about 350-400 mm. Too high and posed difficulty in lifting luggage on board and also for alighting.

If u dont take food I think fares r right. THe Marquee train from NDLS to BSB was Shiv ganga Sleeper , (it was like rajdhani for vns) . Its cost 1200 Rs - 3AC evn during congress days, During congress days it always run Late. started 7 evening from BSB , 8 oClock was its arrival at NDLS but always reached 10 or 11. Modi came- Its travel time reduced a Lot, now it starts 10 o CLOCK night reached 7:30 most of the time except winters. This VB reduces time further to 8 hours Dot- Costs only 1400 rs means 200 extra w/o Food. I think its worth it

It was built in 18 months using old technology. Only new thing is the paint colour.

With the vibrations of that lovely coffee , one can presume that ride quality needs to improve. Of course , problem may be with track laying quality
Vibration are only because of tracks not train because same train was running smooth on new tracks
These tracks are not dedicated tracks like their are for bullet trains. Both passenger and freight use these tracks.

Delhi-- Ghaziabad--Modinagar-Meerut- RRTS Trains run at 180 KMPH top speed- managed by German Rail.
