I've had mine installed for over a year. Still works perfectly. You do not need to remove the gear shift bezel to install this radio.

How do you feel about the radio is it still good or did you change it? Would you make the same purchase now?

Badass and great video. Have you had any issues with ringtone volume? I bought the desaita headunit and the ringtone when I get a phone call is allways on max volume. Any other buggy headaches with your headunit? Again, my Desaita one is full of little bugs and occasional twitches.
And how accessible are the small storage boxes under the screen? You know where the 12 cigarette lighter usually is. I generally use those a lot

I just had this unit installed a few days ago. It was working great for the most part, a couple little hiccups but nothing major, and just now the screen went black and won't turn back on. Do you have any experience with this issue by chance?
Very cool. Where did you get the digital display above the radio where originally it was just a digital clock? I’ve been looking for that to replace the digital clock in my trd pro..

If you had to back up in an emergency i suppose you could use your mirrors or turn your head around and look like people did for 100 years.
Yeah that’s my solution to the problem lol. This is the first car I have had that had a backup can I think.
That's part of the reason I back into parking spaces and my garage. I want to be able to fly outta there if I see the bat signal and have to save Gotham...again! 🤣
Where's the USB port, and does it do fast charging? I had to add a fast charging USB port to my stock setup (same location, plugs into the cigarette lighter in the back), but this would remove it I think.
Looking to get into overlanding and plotting out my planned upgrades. I'm really considering getting a 4Runner model with the MTM camera system. Any clue if this is compatible with more than purely backup?

@@MrKgw911 nah, never did. I saw another video of someone installing their own 360 camera setup and it working, but that’s it.
But I’m happy with my 2023’s CarPlay so I probably won’t bother risking it.
I bought this unit for my 2013 4runner, my problem is... it doesn't turn on the cold air, do you know why?
If I have the Manual AC, will the dual climate control feature work on this? Or do I have to have the dual climate control on the stock head unit? 2016 TRD Trail
You have dual climate control in the 2016? Is it a limited? According to their website it should work. My unit is set up to do dual climate but I only have the single climate control.
Hey Mr Ox, would you please comment on something I am unclear about: Does this new unit now take a manual HVAC control set and make it settable and automatic dual climate or still one climate? Also, hard to see, but are the cubby slots below and all not covered up by this? Thanks
Yeah the cubby slits get mostly covered by this but are still useable just gotta reach under. I never had dual climate control but it may do that. I’m testing out Diasata now as this unit had some battery drain issues.
Would you be able to have an update video short or long form to how the unit is holding up?
Unfortunately I don't even own the 4Runner anymore. Ive heard some good and some bad with the unit. Some people have no issues and a few had a parasitic drain.
Did the new unit improve your camera display quality? Or is it the same?
Same. The cameras are all pretty awful lol.
Where the shop i can go and install that Head unit?
Does it interfere with the 4-wheel drive shifter at all?
No, I’ve been able to shift no problem, I have the TRD shifting one. Not sure about the other trims that have the knob, kinda forgot where that’s located on that SR5.
Does the unit come JBL sound system capable?
Does it come capable to incorporate the 4 camera full circle display as equipped in 22 Limited 4Runner?
Not sure I don’t have the limited. Didn’t even know the limited has that until just now.

@@OXFOOT Thanks for your reply. I bought my 22 4Runner last November and am just now learning a bit more about the vehicle. My last 4Runner was a '98 model, drove for a couple of years, so I haven't kept up with them since.

I have a beef with my 2022 4Runner and how it handles the USB drives. 1st: it only handles up to 32gb in the drive, and the FAT32 format. 2nd: The unit doesn't know anything about how the files are on the drive. I downloaded several audio books and it wouldn't play the chapters in sequence. Had to do quite a bit of work to get the FAT sorted so it would play them correctly. 3rd: If the car isn't in Park, and you try to browse the USB drive, it hops back to the 1st file on the drive and you can't select the file or album you want to play. 4th: I haven't gotten anybody to figure out how to get the Android Auto to play files off my phone. It'll play one file, then stop. 5th: It's a pain to have to hook up the USB cable to my phone in order to use Android Auto. Any insight you have on this with the new head unit is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I don’t know much about the android operating system or how this unit works with it.
I hadn’t used a USB drive with the unit so unfortunately I’m not sure about that one either. Have you tried reaching out to their customer support about it? They’ve been pretty quick about getting back to me about any question.
Be cool if you do an update on this, see if you still like it, bugs? I have a Dasaita, which is a wide aspect. Screen responsiveness is not great, and I cant do split screens, but other than thats is good.
I don’t even own the 4Runner anymore. I actually was thinking about switching to the diasata in my new truck though. I’m possibly just going to get a car play plug in that goes into my stock head unit though.

I don’t even have the 4Runner anymore. I had an issue where it killed my battery once but there’s an upgrade you have to do if that happens. On my tundra build I probably won’t even upgrade the head unit.

Do your steering wheel controls work?
Yeah it plugs into the factory plugs. That’s true of all brands that I know of.
Is the steering wheel controls compatible with it?
Yes, everything works as it does with the regular head unit

It doesn’t really change. It’s about the same. It’s pretty awful on both screens lol.

I just have to say it. He does not like that if there was a 911 and you had to back up. You dont have your backup cam right away. LMAO. Who uses a back up to back up. Mirrors and eyes. SMH
