In my early 20's, I dated a man like Nick (at least the version of himself he's describing in that podcast episode... something I never imagined Nick to be like, since he always seemed upbeat and positive). Even though I personally don't believe in ghosting people for no reason, I absolutely had to ghost that man because I was afraid of him. That man was so in my head that he felt like he was under my skin. He was the textbook definition of a narcissist (a word I do not use lightly AT ALL) and had manipulated me to tolerate and see mental & emotional abuse as "love" or as "normal". I was being controlled. There is no talking it out or breaking up with people like that. You try and he'll flip it back on you and find a way to convince you to stay. You have to ghost. Often, we are responding to a person who likely escalated the situation, then turned around and tried to demand that we calm down an attempt to control how we responded to their disrespect. Been told my whole entire life that I have a memory like an elephant, and most of the time those comments came from people who did not want me to remember unfavorable Situation from childhood. In psychology it’s well-known that people who suffer with complex PTSD or grew up in those types of environments often remember and great detail what was done to them. Same can be said if they unfortunately find themselves in a relationship that mirrors, toxic family relationships. The body remembers. It’s a little too easy of a fallacy and reach for people to often claim women’s emotions get the best of them and cause to lose all logic and reason.
Emotions are there to protect you against abuse. People that use the argument that your being emotional or not thinking logically are just gaslighting you so that you can continue accepting their abuse. Never allow that ever. Listen to your instincts, your emotions and your body. The subconscious never lies.
I think it's about knowing how to regulate your emotions so that you can communicate clearly, logically, and effectively and make better decisions.

You are spot on. In fact, NC has double the amount of “baby mothers” as Cam, but only three more children. It is pure manipulation & game for him. Also, NC started off fatherhood in a marriage. Cam has never married, so I don’t believe he started off consciously baiting women. Not all of these women seek loyalty or love, much less marriage, or commitment especially when they know the person isn’t capable or willing, and some of them know exactly what they’re getting into, and what they want out of it. He’s a narcissist. In short. That’s how he thinks off bat(to manipulate situations to get what he wants). He speaks in a way that suggests that he only does this when he really wants a woman but in reality it’s whenever he approaches any woman.
What he was describing is mirroring.
Which the therapist is correct about. A woman who is emotionally mature will see through this fast. Mainly because he lies like this off the dome. He thinks in the moment. Because of this when further interaction happens you get caught in a lie easily without even realizing you got caught.
External validation(seeing if the person really is who they say they are outside of their circle of influence) is also another easy way. People will just be honest about what they know. Why lie for him? Why tell you fantasies they fell for without even realising it’s a lie?
If they have a strong ego, i.e. emotionally mature and very aware of themselves, he will run into trying to persuade them to do what he wants and failing. He will try to guilt them, fail. Try to convince them they are something they are not, fail. They will be rubbed raw by his interactions and start to challenge him. You see how he behaves when he is challenged.
The main problem you had with him is assuming that he is arguing faithfully. No. He knows what she means he’s just trying to scurry around it. He is extremely insecure, which is why he refuses to present a true self to anyone. So calling him “low functioning” hits a nerve. He feels he has to argue it away.
Btw, “oh I know I want to get married and i’m not about that” is only scratching the surface. Remember nick would be approaching to HEAR what you want and then mirror it.
You are not behaving like that so you wouldn’t understand that. He is not strategizing. His “strategy” is very shortsighted, so as long as you’re LISTENING as you interact with him. You’re not seeking to divulge yourself before him, you’re actually interacting with him for multiple sessions for ling periods of time, he will end up losing.
It’s not that they’re “willing to trade for wealth” it’s that as a woman, men approach you. So you have to review offers. Nick Cannon poses a huge and rare offers. So they’re likely to listen. He had multiple kids with their mom, did not marry her, and likely cheated on her, then the relationship ended and he rinsed and repeated this behavior with another woman. Now he has a servant woman living with him acting like a stepmom who will never be his wife and who also has a baby with him. Those adopted kids have the experience of two broken homes.This is not an emotional win for the adopted kids, it is a crumb. How could you adopt a whole kid and not commit to the mom?
