In the studio of Berlinde De Bruyckere

Belgian artist Berlinde De Bruyckere (b. 1964) creates sculptures that reveal the human body and human life in all its frailty. Her installations of equine and human bodies evoke feelings of love and consolation, but also of terror and violence. The work is both emotionally immersive and provocative, regularly creating controversy. De Brucykere’s bitter-sweet images unite pain and suffering with a strong aesthetic appeal. Her Cripplewood presentation attracted great public attention at the 55th Venice Biennale. The Gemeentemuseum Den Haag acquired her sculpture Into One - Another II, To P.P.P., 2010-2011 in 2011 and now holds a major retrospective of her work, much of it never previously exhibited in the Netherlands. The exhibition is on view until 31 May.

soms vraag ik mij af, zou ik ooit genoeg geld hebben om een werk van Berlinde te kopen ?
Zou ik ooit een plek hebben die mooi genoeg is om een werk van Berlinde neer te zetten ??
Ik blijf het mij afvragen... maar ik heb nog zoveel andere vragen die ik zou willen vragen aan mooie mensen zoals Berlinde die zelfs zonder geld héél rijk zijn...

Wat heb ik mij geërgerd aan die Hollander die naar het einde toe almaar vaker het woord nam en de sfeer helemaal verpestte met zijn eigen uitleg van haar werk. Wat een arrogantie om te denken dat hij het allemaal veel beter weet. Jammer, jammer, jammer.
