Great work here. How could I have been working with illustrator for 20 years and still learn so much. This is the only channel I’ll put a bell on to get notified. Thank you!!
wow Chris that means a lot! Illustrator does keep evolving and changing, but I myself do learn things that are not new updates too. It's a very intricate software, which is why many shy away from it I think
Satori Graphics - I agree with you. It is deep enough that you can learn something new every day. Not to mention the other adobe apps. It can be a full time job just staying up to date.
Great tips, thanks for sharing! I always feel that the more subtle differences like in tips 1 and 2 are really what makes the difference and makes text look professional.
The lack of outlining texts becaomes a problem when the artwork is shared between suppliers. I worked for a promotional products distributor, and when someone would send us their graphics, the text would default when i opened it in illustrator, because i didn't have that particular font. For a few clients, fixing this problem could become quite the ordeal, as they would often have no idea what i was talking about.
thats why you ask them to include the font in their folder, or else if you work in Indesign, when you package the file, it includes the images and fonts all in a folder.
Ok, so I typed out a bunch a state park names in a text box. I am trying not to create outlines. It seems as though I cannot separate these words now to drag them into location on my map. Would you be able to do a video about creating a map with text? I am trying to make something I can use on my Glowforge. I have tried this on another project and when I upload it into GF to engrave, some of the letters file in. I'm so frustrated. Thank you!
I want to know that, how you created the design which is shown on screen in very beginning of the tutorial (color paint coming through the hexagonal shape and the text pro tips). please help. thanks in advance.
There is a keyboard shortcut for not only increasing and decreasing text weight, but also kerning and tracking. I've forgotten them though lol, you can Google search :)
hi thank you so much for the great tips! i was also wonder what type of glass effect you used for your intro within the pink brushmark! it look stunning
Great video as always - I really need to migrate to CC to have all this functionality available. The only downside being the fallability of memory when the more obscure features are not used on a regular basis, and, given the demands from other software packages for brainspace, I wonder if all the added functionality really speeds up workflow, given the repeated re-learning required when the more esoteric features aren't used frequently, and become second nature. What are your thoughts ? Perhaps less is more - using the basic features that have been around since the earliest incarnations, much this can be achieved, albeit less slickly. Or is it me getting older and more parsimonious.
Hey man, can't believe how proficient you are with putting out new tutorials, are you planning on making a video on how to make videos? Real meta, I know! haha
Thank you. I can use these. Do you have a tip for moving text on a path without having to zoom in to locate the handles (or whatever they are called). I keep losing the darn things if I click anywhere on the image....they are tiny.
Like i am actually trying to remember all the tips,i have trouble remembering them, even if i note it down for reminding myself its not pretty practical.Any tips on remembering these tips :)
Well I've been using Ai for more than half year now, still don't even aware of any of the trick mentioned..Thank you so much for the help! @satori graphics
If someone is trying to apply the first tip and it doesn't work then probably you have to create a text box first then it'll work, this tip doesn't work if you type without creating a text box That what happened with me.
More useful and handy tips for you all, today when using text in Adobe Illustrator. Let me know if this tutorial was helpful for you today 👌
I would love to see a tutorial on how to create the graphic used in your thumbnail, its beautiful!

There is a keyboard shortcut for not only increasing and decreasing text weight, but also kerning and tracking. I've forgotten them though lol, you can Google search :)

how does one make it so that the program can detect and read the words of a picture?
i would like to learn more about awesome font from you!

That sound like a great Idea
the thing with the Comic Sans being a font everybody loves was sarcastic as hell (you being a designer) 😂
Thank you. I can use these. Do you have a tip for moving text on a path without having to zoom in to locate the handles (or whatever they are called). I keep losing the darn things if I click anywhere on the image....they are tiny.
That I do not think there is a way around. You will just have ot learn to spot the handles easily I guess lol.. Sorry.
Great video.. Tell us your 10 favorite fonts.
I am making a video a lot like this later this week 👌
EXCELLENT VIDEO ... EXCELLENT ...
Hey thanks for that Mia, have a great Friday!
Nice tips.. thank u
Much appreciated Neeta, enjoy your day ✌
Is it recommended to use fractional widths on working with logo text? Or just move it so it's nice to see.
When sending to print production, would “make compound shape” works as well as “create outlines”?
Thanks alot 👍
Cool tips
👌👍✌
Enjoy your day Sidra
Like i am actually trying to remember all the tips,i have trouble remembering them, even if i note it down for reminding myself its not pretty practical.Any tips on remembering these tips :)
You can have Illustrator open, and perform the tips or techniques multiple times, and if you do this a few times it will become natural in your mind
Satori Graphics WILL TRY FOR SURE,THANKS.
