      I understand, I've been watching since 2014 when I was in grade 4 and growing up watching the show Amy and Ty were everything I ever wanted in a relationship because they were so good together they were literally soulmates. True to that. If you begin with season 14 to watch Heartland Ty's death is comparable to what Marion's death was to us. Both seasons starting with death. I just realised that now. And if you missed these first beautiful 13 seasons, it's exactly like Marion's death was to us all those years ago. And still, I miss Marion, I miss not having seen her storylines with her two daughters, not having met the possible storylines between the horses and her and Amy. We see only glimpses of it. But what if... imagine watching Heartland from season -13 to 1. Imagine having watched Marion for 13 years and Amy and Lou growing up. What a beautiful fanfiction that could turn into. But it would be a lot of work to write so many books it would cover over 200 episodes on television.
      But just imagine that. Then Marion's death would have felt the same as Ty's death right now.
      And just imagine having watched Amber grow up since she was as little as Lindy or the Spencer twins are now 😍 That would have been adorable ❤️

    I encourage everyone here who wants to stop watching, before you stop, go back and watch Heartland from season 1. I did a few months ago and I never noticed before how much Ty was absent from Amy. From season 1 on he left her many times. Whether it was to be alone, go visit someone, help his mom, go to Mongolia or wherever he went. He left a lot- so I TRULY believe the show will be okay without him. Watching back again, I felt he always had a foot out the door feel to his character and Amy is the rock. I loved Ty and their relationship but It’s going to be ok. ❤️

      Starting in season 10 his character was absent much of the time. I actually liked his character less after season 10. If you'd had asked me during season 8 I would have said I loved his character, but I liked him less as time went on. He was distanced. I still cried a lot when watching the episode where he died, but I'm also excited to see where it goes from here.

    This loss like so many have said is just devastating, I can’t close my eyes without seeing Ty collapse and then I start to cry. I can’t scroll social media because I see pictures of Amy and Ty and start to cry, I won’t be able to go back and watch previous seasons for quite some time - it’s just too painful. Heartland was the fans safe haven and happy place and I’m sorry, I know Amber is trying to be positive and say this happens in real life and it’s a beautiful story to be told - but we watched Heartland to escape the pains of our own reality! Now this family show has no family that has had a successful life together - where’s the reality in that? Three deaths, two divorces, single moms raising kids alone, where’s the “FAMILY” in all this brokenness?? Why can’t someone have a normal story of reality and be married for 20,30 years! I’m sorry but Heartland just became broken-heart land. 😢

    • @Cat73Meow
      @Cat73Meow 3 года назад +7

      That is reality in real life,people do die,get married,get divorced are single parents... family is what you make it to be. The people left are still family and it's in that journey where you and your family find your strength to overcome your losses. Life doesn't end when our loved ones pass away,it continues,you keep going on and day by day you get better and find happiness again. Just like in life things unexpectedly happen,we don't see coming and that is the same in the show and is reflected in the loss of Ty. It's not realistic for nothing bad to happen and for some people going through that much death and problems is reality...it has been in my own life.

    • @Cat73Meow
      @Cat73Meow 3 года назад +5

      They have stayed together as a family throughout everything they have been through over the years...maybe not in the traditional way but through their losses,divorces and everything else they are there for each other and they are every bit a family through and through. Lou decided to stay with her family after their mom died and build her life there. Lou's connection to her family and life in Hudson was so strong that she couldn't move to Vancouver.Tim overcame his issues and is now welcomed back as part of the family. After seeing Lou & Peter's home destroyed and now Amy &Ty's house isn't going to be built, we know that neither Amy or Lou will leave ever that house or the people in it...the home, the people in it and the connection to everyone else that ever lived their is so strong. Jack and Lisa are a wonderful couple, who we need to see more of. It would just be a predictable, cookie cutter type show if everything was always happy and went to plan. The characters wouldn't grow and evolve otherwise... just like ourselves in our own lives. Look how they always are there for each other, they love and support each other even if they don't always understand or agree with something the other person is doing. They always come together in good times and bad. Now they are going through this loss together and because it was everyone's loss,it will affect everyone and bring them together throughout the season. just like Lou wasn't alone raising her girls neither is Amy, they have each other, Jack,Lisa,Tim, Caleb who will be there to help. I can't wait to see where things go from here. It was a really beautiful, heartfelt episode that makes you reflect and feel so many emotions. If this isn't a family I don't know what is. there is no such thing as a "normal" family,family is different for everyone.They are the very example and meaning of family.

      Agree 100%. I can hardly wait to see Amy with Lyndy moving on without Ty. Amber was right Ty will not be forgotten. I have to say Heartland has some great writers, producers, directors and cast. I can only imagine how difficult it was for all of them working closely with Graham and the comradery. When I looked up the definition this is what it said: Comradery is a spirit of friendship and community between two people or a group of people. I know he will be missed greatly to everyone who is involved in the Heartland family and all of the fans.

      I think there could have been another way to write him out other than have him die. He could have gone into a coma in case he decided he wanted to come back to the show. It would have been a better choice. I don't think the writers took the time to really think this through all the way. People do change their mind sometimes Bad choice & not thought out very well Take Starsky & Hutch in the 70"s ending was much better. They were going to have Starsky die but had him live in the end & it was a much happier ending. Leaving it open ended left a chance for them to revive the show later if they wanted.

      I just found out that Ty wasn't going to be on anymore and I was in denial until I saw this episode (which I wasn't expecting to see yet) then I read some of the ladies here say that their husband's passed and that did it, the tears came down. Yes it's a show but the drama is so true to life without having so many other detrimental issues in the world right now in it, makes it bearable. It is my safe haven. I had my own severe health challenges in the last two years and this program got me through. Ty and Amy had such a chemistry on screen.

In my humble opinion though respecting both of y'all and the entire HL staff, crew, make-up, music, etc. it would have been better off to end it with a beautiful "HAPPY EVER AFTER" in s13!! I speak from losing my husband of 33 yrs and how it sadly is reality even in a show that it is horrible!!! I have always been a SuperFan!! I am 60 years old and LOVE HL more than any show EVER!! I know I have to trust as Amber says, but I haven't been good at that in real life either!! I believe we saw enough and maybe even more than enough heartbreak for Amy already the past 13 years and I don't like that they act like this is just another heartbreak when it's devasting!!! I know some of you will say...so don't watch it, and I say to you that I am not ready to stop but I am just saying I wish they would have at s13!! Lastly, a comment I read said.....hind sight 20/20 ....now Graham can't come back even IF he wanted to which is what is sooooooooo HARD!!! There's NO hope and in Amy's words....NO magic anymore!!! @@ellamarie607 Have fun watching. All the other seasons won't ever feel the same again, am I right? It's just... not the same watching Amy and Ty as they fall in love and them being together if you know they won't grow old together, but they won't be together as long as they would have been supposed to be. As long as they were meant to be. Now you always remind yourself of this new information and every episode when Amy and Ty were broken up, your heart just breaks. Because you know they don't have all the time in the world. And you wish them to be together, one unit, for every episode. Forever. But they were broken off at times and I already know for my next rewatch, that these episodes will be hardest to watch now that I know they don't have that much time together at all. Only a few years. Thirteen years. These episodes were hard to watch even before Ty died, because I shipp them so hard ❤️ Tamy forever. And now 😭

I am devastated that Ty is gone, but that being said......this gives Amy a chance to grow individually as a mother, sister, aunt, etc in her life without Ty. For me, Ty and Amy ARE relationship goals, and they complimented each other by being each other's rock. She now has to find her own path in life, and I am interested to see where this goes.

      @@colleenboyle8649, I agree. Graham (Ty) decided to leave and stopping the show because he needed to leave would not be right. He had to die because they were not going to have them break up and he had already been away from each other when he went to Mongolia and other places. He was home and they had began their business. The character had to die. I'm in the U.S. and can't get season 14 yet but I know I will be crying because I have lost my precious loved ones and it hurts. I was treated like a good friend. Ty and I were sitting on the grass and I asked him if he was going to stay at Heartland. He said he had a secret and then kissed me on the cheek. Maybe he was saying good bye to all of us. Amber is a talented woman to continue her role with this big change. You feel her heart is in it. May Graham find his heart too. He truly gave us a beautiful story to share for years to come. We would rather have him stay for a lifetime but this life is not perfect even if we try to create it that way. It was terrible script writing, rushed, and such a empty, heartless and utterly meaningless way for the death of ty to be portrayed. I know people die from DVT,s and that's fine. But after 14 years the fan's deserved to be given his passing with a little more meaning. A little more direction. Protecting his family, making a decision?. The fan's should have been given and shown a little more respect. And with all the tool's and possibilities and storyline's at the feet of your production and writing team it could have been done with far more, than it ultimately ended for ty's character.

I am deeply affected by this change of Ty dying...I was talking to myself during the episode when it was realized that Ty was actually dead! I kept saying, "No way! What! Ty is dead? Surely I must be misunderstanding the story line....he will be alive at the end of the episode." Well, nope! The tears kept coming. Thank you for Heartland team for putting your interviews on youtube for us to find out what and why. 👍 😑

    Alright Amber, you're right we're all going to miss Ty but it's also true that heartland doesn't have to end because of Ty's death, it's a new beginning for everyone, especially for Amy and Lyndy, just as Will Vernon died the series continued because from there the page is turned.

    I'm not watching it anymore. Heartland isn't Heartland without Ty. Amy and Ty's love story is what got me hooked on Heartland. This is too heartbreaking to watch. I was sobbing the whole season premiere.

    @grahamwardle and @amber_marsahll_farm both of you were amazing giving life to Ty and Amy, you managed to give verity to a fictional love story, which could have been like any other, but it became an example of companionship, complicity and respect .. whatever we aim for in a relationship. Congratulations to both for this "perfect partnership" for so many years. I LOVE TY & AMY, AND I WILL MISS THIS COUPLE FOR REAL

    Watched Heartland in Australia during “lockdown in 2021. Really enjoyed the show until the end of season 10 when there was less of Ty and Amy. I believe this couple held the show together. When Graham advised the production team that he wanted to leave In 2018 then I really believe to keep the integrity of the show intact they had to finish with a feel good finish for its fans. Sometimes shows can go on for too long. Heartland is a great family yarn but I especially like Ty and Amy’s love for each other through all the ups and downs over 13 years. Sorry you have lost this Heartland fan. I think Ty’s character is quite amazing - boy from the wrong side of town, gets his high school diploma, then university & vet school, marries his only true love, has a child, survives multiple near death experiences but cannot survive the production teams need for 1 or 2 more seasons. Not really believable as we all know Graham is alive and doing well. I will watch series 1 - 13 again and again but will not watch 14 and 15. Thanks to all the cast and crew for a great show 1 - 13.

    It is heartbreaking, and extremely hard to accept that Ty won’t be playing in Heartland anymore. But it Amber can accept it, then so can we! We’ll get through this. ❤️

    I know that Heartland is a TV make believe story but, having captivated us for so long, it's a real tragedy that it had to end this way for Ty (and we need to respect Graham's decision) but all credit to the writers, cast (especially Amber Marshall for her brilliant extraction of every morsel of the sorrow and grief felt by us all) and crew for creating such a moving tribute to one half of, arguably, the cutest and most lovable on-screen couples ever.
    Having said this, I have been re-running Heartland (S1:9, always, and S10:13, occasionally) for more time than I care to confess to. However, since the premiere of S14, I have found it impossible to motivate myself to go back. I know that many people will argue that any journey is as important as the destination but I am personally struggling with that view right now. Just hoping that S14 rolls out in such a way that I am able to return to watching the entire journey once again.

    I have to tell you, Season 13 after Ty got shot & where he got shot (same place the handlebars got him) I said "wow, how much can that spot take a hit....." he cried & said. What if I lost you?" Whew, takes my breath away & tears flow again😔

    Wow, Amber Marshall, that was beautifully said>
    I noticed that you mentioned Graham's name in almost every sentence and gave so much credit to him.
    But on his talk about leaving the show, he never mentioned your name.
    Is that the Editor's fault for not including that ??

      I want her to date and be with someone else again. She and Lyndy shouldn't go through life alone. My mother remarried after my father died when I was 6, and it brought new life and happiness into our home.

      I don't want Amy to date anyone for years but if the series continues after time, if the right guy comes a long that would be good. Amy is young but she will be missing Ty for years & years to come if Heartland continues to be authentic.
