How I unlocked his romance: I had the first veiled vow scene (“Teachers Greatest Joy”) but not the second one ("Easy Living") initially. I think it’s locked to a specific dialogue choice after his third mission (“At the End of the Charge”) and before accepting his final mission ("A Fresh Start"). Unfortunately that can’t be replayed BUT I did pick Genzui’s option for Master Shion’s prison break/ “Infiltrate the Prison Complex”mission. Once I finished the game, it unlocked the second veiled vow scene. So I went to the Testament of Souls, played veiled vow scene 2, and then went to the area of Edo - chapter 2. The “Genzui wants to discuss” box appeared and final scene unlocked.

Aw thank you so much! I spend entirely too much time in the character creator, but better than ending up a monstrosity! Genzui's "romance" is more like the bro's (that flirt a little) for life unfortunately. There's a few scenes (I think they're after the Infiltrate the Prison mission/before going into Chapter 2 for sure) that put it more into perspective (hopefully not getting too spoiler-y here). I about threw the controller across the room. LOL at your wording on the third question. I honestly can't remember the specifics for when his third Bond mission became available, but I do remember it was towards the end of Chapter 2/ before the Forbidden Gate Rebellion. There's was definitely a "Genzui needs assistance" notification . You're very welcome! I agree with you about the disappointment as well. That’s the truth. But it would have been weird with Fumi hanging around if things progressed further. I kept hoping she’d just leave and the scenes would drastically change 🤷🏼♀️lol. Jokes on me I guess 😢.

I had the same issue at first. After I beat the game, I used the Testament of Souls to redo Master Shoin's prison break mission and chose his option in the cutscene. I think I redid a couple of his bond missions and it finally unlocked. Hope that helps!
@@AllisAttack I noticed your bio, I kinda picked the shinsomethinggumi side and Genzui Kusaka performed seppuku, I used the Testament Of Souls did unfinished some bond missions and decided I want to go the anti shogunate route to keep him alive, but judging by your bio it's not gonna make a difference?
