Negan being actually angry and intimidating is genuinely scary and effective because of how sarcastic and smiley he usually is. The second he has that scowl or frown on his face I get worried.

Negan on the other hand did everything in his power to protect his people and also made sure they only killed as few people as they had to in order to keep trade open. The governor was literally a psychopath, he gunned down his own people who weren't even fighters. If Merle Dixon was willing to turn on him that says a lot about how fucked in the head the governor was.
The fact this is what he became after the whole ordeal with his wife just makes it so cool. JDM played this character to the absolute perfection. Miss the good ol days.
I guess he is kind of an Anti-hero after he loses everything and is imprisoned and starts doing some good things but before that he isn’t an anti-hero at all just the worst villain in the universe we’ve seen so far

I think this is why I sliiiiiiightly stick with Maggie's position on Negan. He definitely had moments of understanding and remorse...but JESUS, he was a fucking MONSTER. He was DANCING all the way, not a care in the world and that's chilling man.
i watched grey's anatomy before twd and jeffrey played a really sick patient with heart problems and he had to stay in a hospital bed all the time, so seeing him play negan here is so refreshing
Negan is easily the best major villain. In his most boring scene, he built up more tension that Shane and the Governor did in their entire screen time put together
Man it’s a shame they ruined the all our war story by stretching it out because Negans such an iconic villain and Jeffrey Dean-Morgan did a perfect job in portraying him. Felt like all the actors around him picked up their games consistently when he was around aswell because season 7-8 had some amazing emotional scenes
