Hi Everyone, thank you so much for watching! I know this video was a bit rough around the edges so I'm working on an updated version with a few tweaks and clearer instructions. Stay tuned ❤
It’s so gorgeous! And it’s more modest 😜 I’ve been looking for how to make a more covered-up shirred dress, and it’s perfect! Thanks for making this video!
Thank you for the feedback! I'm working on an updated version as there are a few tweaks I would make. I will make sure I don't miss any steps as I know this one was a bit rough round the edges 😆❤️
Just discovered your channel, I am thrilled watched them all please post more and some sew a longs. Adore your fabric choices. Keep on posting such fantastic content. You have by far become my best you tuber
Already follow you on instagram, but I'm taking a few weeks off to just clear my head and avoid the endless scrolling... So I'm super happy to have discovered you have a youtube channel!! Looks great, keep it up, excited to see what comes next!!
Can I ask how well the shirring has held over the years? I have been always told to sew back and forth at the ends of the shirring rows but the way you cut the pattern piece out of the shirred fabric prevents this. I understand why as it would be a pain to do the patterning without shirring first but if this has worked, I could use this technique as well in the future!
Me encanta todo lo q haces.. gracias por mostrarnos tu arte.. sigue subiendo videos.. es de gran ayuda. Acá en Argentina no tenemos acceso a esos moldes.. éxitos.. 😘💖💐
The dress looks great on you! I think I would shorten the top tier a bit. Would love to see a similar video for the replication of the dress you were wearing! Xx
Hi! Awesome dress! I love the high neck. What stitch did you use around the neck and on the bodice to sew it to the skirt? I am asking because I would like to try this and making sure I can stretch over my head and shoulders!
Hiya, thank you so much for watching! I used a narrow zig zag stitch. I'm going to do an updated version of this video, there are a few things I would change if I made it again so I'm going to do some test runs and see if they work 🥰
Hey Gina, I'm a sewing newbie and gearing up to make a shirred dress for a holiday next month! So this vid is helpful. Could I ask if there's a particular reason you used a bobbin to sew the top thread instead of a spool of thread - is it better for shirring?
New to this sewing and sherring, can i ask where did you get the sleeve pattern from ? just love the full bodice pattern been looking everywhere but yours is the first ive found. Just love it
Thank you! Sorry I didn't explain the neckline very well, because it was lined with jersey I didn't add a binding but I think next time I make this I will so it sits much flatter ❤️
Hi Gina, how did you finish the neckline of the dress, did you use bias binding or a facing. Did you add a zip on the back? Please help as I would like to recreate this dress for myself. Unsure how you finished off the neck
Hiya! Because it's fully lined with the jersey I didn't need to face it or anything and it stretches over my head comfortably ❤️ I think I need to topstitch it as it does lift so I'll do that with a zig zag stitch so it still stretches xx
Sorry I didn't make that clear, because it's lined I attached the two together as you would with a normal bodice to have the seam inside. Hope that makes sense!
Hiya, so using a calculator because my maths is awful 😆 I multiplied my measurements by 1.5 to give the new width, because that came up too small I did another piece the same size. Hope that makes sense!

No, leave it long 😊, Soo beautiful ❤️
It’s lovely and on trend with the shirred top and the on point pink color. 🌸🎀
This is amazing! It looks fabulous. I think shortening the top tier a little would make it even better 😍
It’s so gorgeous!

This is so challenging but so worth it. And a great technique to know.
Thumbs up the second I saw "tell me your project isn't going well without telling me" haha so relatable
Gorgeous dress! I really admire your commitment to shirring too, I find it so tedious!
I love this dress!!! You’ve inspired me. Thank you so much for this video.

Unbelievable beautiful.

When will we get to see that cold shoulder dress? It's just beautiful. Love the pink dress. 💗

Keep the length! Looks adorable.

Thankyou ❤
Great video thank you, can I just ask how you attached the lining to the bodice? As I’m not sure it was captured in the video unless I missed it 🙈
Love this! So interesting to see the whole process!
Hopefully the next one will have a far less grueling process 😆
@@ginaseams most definitely I was exhausted just watching!!

Amazing video Gina 👏
Can you show us how you made the dress at 1:15?
It was really worth the effort!
Thank you! ❤️
Love it 🙌❤️ Go you 💙💜

Love the dress, I am planning to make one for summer, one question what did you do for the collar?
Dress looks lovely, for the neckline did you add any binding?

Hi, how did you get rid of the dart in your bodice pattern?
Hiya, I cut into it on my pattern and then stuck it closed, hope that makes sense!
Hi Gina
Thankyou so much for sharing your fabulous dress. I love that you wing it with the self drafting - totally inspiring 😉😁
@aloadofbobbins
How did you finish up the neck line??
Sorry I didn't make that clear, because it's lined I attached the two together as you would with a normal bodice to have the seam inside. Hope that makes sense!
When I cut the shirred fabric it just unravels any tips 🤔
Ah no! Have you tried stay stitching it in place using a short stitch length? I find that always helps me x
I would shorten the tier
Can you do a sewalong for the one you are wearing
Yes definitely! I'm making another one soon so I will film the whole process ☺️
Do you sell the pattern? 😭
Sorry it's completely self drafted ❤️
How many inches did you add to your actual measurements?
Hiya, so using a calculator because my maths is awful 😆 I multiplied my measurements by 1.5 to give the new width, because that came up too small I did another piece the same size. Hope that makes sense!
