    I love the fact that he doesn't show brand new items either cleaned them. That makes the video super original and realistic, no bs at all. Love the video, Definitely thumps up.

      Thanks Richardo. Yes all my tools I review are well used.

    It all depends on the tool and what job stress you are putting it through. 5ah are the best all around, but 2ah will run the multi tool or brad gun , compact drill for extended periods of time . Circ saws and recip saws pretty much work best with flex volt batteries. The 60 v circ needs the 9ah to be useful all day when framing.

    The 5ah battery uses 18650 cells, and the 6ah battery uses 21700 cells. The size difference is small, but the extra runtime, and extra power, the 6ah battery provides is better. And even better yet, the 8ah battery is the same size as the 6ah and provides just as much power with longer runtime.
    My statements on "power" are based on results of tests with multiple tools, particularly impact tools and the torque output using the 6ah batteries compared to the 5ah batteries.

      5.0ah batteries also use 21700 from 2020. the package are slightly different and weight as well. the one on this video is old model with 18650 cell. 5.0ah with 21700 has obviously larger 5.0 print with white colour on it. yellow one font is 20700 and that small 5.0 print on this video is 18650.

    Informative video. I would like to know your thoughts on buying batteries online. I noticed that JB Tools 5ah batteries are considerably lower than Home Depot or Lowes. Do you think there are quality issues

      Ed,
      I buy my batteries and tools online. Amazon is the best prices and I haven’t had any quality issues. I try to buy everything online from Amazon since I can trust I will get my order.

    Dude the cells in the 6ah are much better than the 5ah. 21700 vs 18650 respectively. You get more bang for your buck imo.

    • @TwistedToolbox
      @TwistedToolbox  2 года назад +10

      Samuel, If you are doing heavy duty cutting all the time the 6ah would make sense. For versatility the 5ah only has 16% less capacity and is smaller, lighter and less expensive which is why I choose the 5ah for my every day battery. -Steve

    • @puterg0d
      @puterg0d Год назад

      @@TwistedToolbox But the 6ah has proven to offer more actual continuous power in many tests. The 6ah is definitely the better battery. The weight difference is negligible.

    • @TwistedToolbox
      @TwistedToolbox  Год назад +1

      @@puterg0d yes the 6Ah has more power and I use them on my heavy duty tools that require the extra power like the grinder. For drills and impacts, the power difference isn’t enough for me to lug around the extra size and weight. -Steve

      New wrinkle: the Compact 4AH uses the 21700 cells as well, so it's almost as powerful as the 5AH but in a much smaller package

    Greetings. How did DeWALT batteries perform after a long time?

    • @TwistedToolbox
      @TwistedToolbox  3 месяца назад

      I use my DeWalt batteries almost daily and have 5 in rotation. I change them out about every 2-3 years. I write the date on them when I get them so I know how old they are.

    dewalt 20 volt battery- have many new dewalt tools and only a few small batteries that came with the combos. To me dewalt has too many confusing tool models and batteries.
    Cordless tools should be Small and Very Light. Might buy a few 5 volt batteries. But want to pick 1 Size and Type of battery to stay with for all of my tools. So what is the best battery for size, weight, and performance?

    • @TwistedToolbox
      @TwistedToolbox  2 года назад

      Wilma,
      The DEWALT 5Ah (amp hour) 20 volt battery gives the best performance for its size and weight.
      This starter kit is a great deal with 2 batteries and a charger. amzn.to/3ylewua

    Do you recommend 5ah or 10ah dewalt battery for a grinder

    • @TwistedToolbox
      @TwistedToolbox  3 месяца назад

      For a grinder that uses a lot of power, the bigger battery will be better. I use the 6AH with my grinder for most jobs. If I have a big job, I will put on the 9AH Flexvolt.

    DCB115 charger is not a fast charger. It is a 4amp charger. Fast chargers are 8amp and 12 amp.

    I am rebuilding my DeWalt 5ah battery and found something kind of strange. The 18650 cells are Samsung INR18650 20R. Those are 2000mah, or 2ah cells. This DeWalt battery pack is a 5s2p pack, so because it's 2p that makes it a 4ah or 4000mah battery. NOT a 5000mah or 5ah pack. So DeWalt is kind of full of shit. Those cells would have to be 2500mah to be a 5ah pack. When I rebuild the pack it will be a 5ah because I'm using 2500mah 18650 cells that have the same 20a continuous discharge rate.
