I like playing video games, but I can't bring myself to do evil things in them. I feel like that's God working in me. When there's a moral choice in games, I almost always choose the good path, as if that's what I'd do if I was really there. Praise the Lord.
I used to play a game in my childhood called black-and-white 2. It's a game where you are God and you can decide whether to be a good God or a bad God. While the Bible doesn't explicitly mention video games, its principles apply to how us use our time. - We are advised to consider whether video games edify, obey God's will, glorify God, result in good works, exhibit self-control, and redeem the time. - We are encouraged to focus on activities that align with Philippians 4:8 and our life purpose in Christ. - Lastly, we should prioritize eternal focus and choose activities that best serve God and others.

I have to disagree respectfully. I think it is okay for a Christian to play video games, watch TV, and movies as long as they don’t glorify sin and we let them become idols. If we let them consume us and we prioritize them before God then yes that is a sin. We should also not let them affect us, our family, our friends, our work and school in a negative way. We also need to know the difference between reality and fiction. I just played the original Assassins’s Creed (2007) and it actually teaches good morals and values. It teaches taking responsibility for ur own actions, do not put urself above others, discipline, obedience, etc. All 4 of those r very important values and lessons that need to be applied in everyone’s life everyday. So no, I don’t think any that is a sin unless it embraces sin and it causes u to have a negative effect on ur relationship with God. God Bless everyone.

8:09-8:15 Dude, those literally mean the same thing. Seriously, at the beginning of the video you say there isn't anything sinful about playing video games, but at the very end you're pretty much saying, "Don't play video games at all. They're useless". Video games can be beneficial in many ways. Controller-based games can be great for your hands. In a study involving a group of surgeons, researchers found that those who played video games were faster at performing advanced procedures and made 37 percent fewer mistakes than those who didn’t. Special video games have also been used as physical therapy to help stroke victims regain control of their hands and wrists. Gaming is really a workout for your mind disguised as fun. Studies have shown that playing video games regularly may increase gray matter in the brain and boost brain connectivity. (Gray matter is associated with muscle control, memories, perception, and spatial navigation.) Open-world, mission-based, and multi-level games are designed like complex puzzles that take several hours to solve. Occasionally, the solution varies based on your actions in the game. Learning to think on your feet and strategize in a fast-paced fantasy environment is a skill that can translate to the real world. One long-term study published in 2013 showed that children who played strategy-based games showed an improvement in problem-solving skills-and thus, tended to get better grades-the next school year. There are videos games on just about everything. Early on, developers realized that video games could be used to improve reading and math skills. Today, there are games that incorporate world history, cooking, politics, chemistry, architecture, and other topics you may not have been exposed to in school. With video games you either win or you keep trying, learning from your mistakes as you progress until you reach the goal. Because of this, some researchers and educators argue that video games can teach people to be more confident and to work towards their goals, treating each misstep as just another learning opportunity. For me personally, I only play Mario, Zelda, Star Wars, and LEGO games. I'm able to play them with a clear conscience and focus on the positive and praise worthy things in them, because I know that's what glorifies God. As with any hobbie/activity, whether it be video games, board games, arts and crafts, or movies, we must never let them become idols.
I am a sinful man who was just baptized a few months ago and hope to turn back to god. I know that most video games do not edify us and too many of them are indeed a waste of our time. However, if we explore this world, nothing is purified, almost everything is corrupted, not only video games. The only precious that is not corrupted are God's words left for us and the holy spirit. So in my opinion, we should take most of our time to study the scriptures and pray with our holy spirit. Also, The most important thing is to try your best to obey the scriptures and practice them. We are corrupted, but god gives us a chance to turn back, and we can not waste this chance. No matter what happens to our life, practicing our faith is the priority of our life. Other than this, just try our best to make a good balance since it is impossible for us to not contact with a corrupted world.
