I have a love/hate relationship with this spreader. I’ve used it for the last 3 years. It’s great that the settings for calibration are on most bags of product in a big box store. The performance leaves much to be desired for large yards(10k sq ft or more). Even walking at a brisk pace I could never get more than about a 4-5 ft spread of product. I always seemed to have green streaks in the lawn after applying nitrogen. I payed $60 for mine but at half off it would be good for someone with a small yard only. I’ll be upgrading soon.
Kountrytimes the max spread is only 5 and 3 when using the guard. My lesco can reach up to 13 feet. But for 30 bucks and to get 2-3 years that’s pretty good.
I have had two of these spreaders in a 2 year period and they are junk. The wheels break with a full bin going up small inclines and the edge guard stops working and or stays engaged and keeps me from getting my full spread when I need it to. May work well for some, but i've had to invest in a Chappin.

That spreader lasted me 7 years on my 7,000 square feet. I was putting full bags of milo and gypsum in there. Several apps of milo, a couple apps of starter fert and occasional fungicide. It finally croaked when I used it on my new bigger yard. I was putting wood pellets in it, so I abused the crap out of it. I upgraded to a more expensive brand, but the DLX is pretty good for the price on an "average" sized lawn.

Just got the scotts DLX on Craigslist for $ 25 used 2 times . I used it for over seeding. Nice up grade from the bubble mower we were using. Edge Guard feature is great .

Hey man love the video great production. You’re right that Spreader it’s a good tool as long as you clean it when you’re done. Before you start using it checked all the bolts and make sure everything is functioning properly don’t put it away dirty because then you’re asking for all kinds of problems. I’m like you I like this product the only thing I wish it had better wheels because you drag that the drive wheel more than it turns. I just wish it had a rubber tires. I wish somebody would do a video on how to DIY wheel replacement. Come on RUclips nation peoples somebody go to Harbor freight and show me how to put them tires on this thing..... Thanks 🙏
Found one but not available for the price until wed. I used this same spreader. It fell apart after 2 years of constant use. Good for short Bermuda not for 4 inch fescue. Great spreader but you'll by every 2 years if you're a yard fanatic.
Philip O'Neal one of the main reasons I have my 300 dollar lesco, but if I spent 30 bucks and got two years, well worth the price. Let’s face it. They are not built to last 👍🏾
Another great informational video. Ive seen people posting pictures of their Walmart finds. My Walmart only had Mark Downs on insecticide's and week killer. That was all that was left. I got there to late.
IMOWLOW yeah sometimes you gotta check daily and I used the app a lot , but sometimes they don’t put the sale price on the app, so while at the store I’ll scan the barcodes with the app to see if I can find a hidden treasure.
Amazon shipped me one of the economy Scotts spreader, the impeller broke off under the basket. Its very important to wash the basket when you are done because the product will cake up like cement in the moving parts. The spreader is still broke but I was able to make it work, hose the lime out and it seems to work OK every time.. Just a warning to others who use the SCOTTS SPREADER because people need to know before pitching it in the trash.

Brandon Wiggins check that Walmart app in store price before you go. If not at yours change the location on the app to a nearby Walmart to see if they have it. I have some people reporting that they are getting it less than 30. So yeah it is time for an upgrade 👍🏾

Had 50 pounds of ryegrass to seed today. Woke up and saw this video. Went to walmart, 2 spreaders in stock at 30 dollars. Left in disappointment as those spreaders were not even worth 30, imo. Currently at a donut shop thats open till 2 so it wasn't a wasted trip.
Mike West no hate taken Mike, info is always good. I don’t expect to get years of service out of the spreader, but if you can get two years then it’s a great buy. The average home owner will probably only use it 3 to 4 times a year. As for me up to 12-14 times a year. But don’t worry imma put this spreader to the test. I'm 100% positive they are on sale for a reason. The fertilizer gets stuck in the wheels and it creates streaks/lines in your lawn

Mine didn't have the spreader, but the bio advanced fertilizer with crabgrass preventer was $5 for 5000 sq ft and $11 for 10000 sq ft.
