Dan got to “RUN” with our Son! TEARS of Joy!

- The last clip on this video (where Uriah & Dan are hugging) is from last September. Below is the description I included with the video at the time… I’m sharing because I want you to genuinely feel my mommy heart… it was SO hard to see my son feeling this way. There is always opposition in all things…joy & sorrow, good times & bad. To have the opportunity to see our son so happy to RUN with his dad after experiencing what we did below brought me more joy than I can express! We are so beyond thankful!!!

September 2023
Our son broke down in tears the other night as he said “Mom, I just realized that I’ve never been able to play ball with my dad.” This is my son that was 17 months old when his biological dad was in a horrific motorcycle accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury & like a child. Dan has been Uriah’s dad since he was almost 3 and has been an incredible daddy to him. After holding him & crying with him for a minute, I wanted to tell him to look at the good and count his blessings with everything he DOES get to do with his dad. BUT I knew his little heart just needed to grieve & feel those big emotions & sad thoughts. So I just held him.
I told Dan what Uriah had said and he got choked up too because that is one of the hardest things for him as a paralyzed daddy… He wants so badly to pick up a soccer ball and show this kid all the tricks. But…we all make the best of the hand we are dealt. Dan grabbed Uriah on the way to bed that night and just held him for a while. No words needed to be said. They both knew the pain & just sat with it and loved their way through it. So many emotions…life is hard sometimes but man are we blessed! ❤️🥹

Thats amazing i saw this dude at a golf course had a wheel chair thats straight stood him up so he could play golf if i had that chair id totaly put transformer sounds with it im happy for dan being able to experience that and for your son i had to sit sideline at daddy daughter dance, the daddy daughyer aong was better man and me sitting there afraid to move because every nerve had fired off standing in line that shit wrecked me so hard . I havent been to yalls vids in a while but a long a while back yall dug me out of a hole and now i find myself back there but this time with a solid diagnosis of my issues i have a condition aimilar to dans as well as a few other spinal issues and im already reminded that theres a silver lining

It is so marvelous to watch you doing these things together. My father's name was Dan, and he also never gave up. How I miss him. And I see so much of him in you. Dan you can be proud of how you have dealt with all your suffering. God is good all the time
Football ⚽️ is great you can Tell him so many things even without doing it by yourself…or you can do some corners with him, you as keeper or header… or volleys with your fists(form of wheelchair soccer)… penaltys with little goals and you as keeper… anyways, keep up the hard work! They will be Great guys! Great to see this upgrade!
I have AA as well and am on my way to needing the world of wheelchairs. And Dan and Andrea have been nothing but kind, helpful with me adjusting meds with my doctors and other things as well so when I get to needing an e-wheelchair I am already thinking of of starting a savings account towards an Omeo based on Dan’s feedback. Unless they find a cure for AA. LMAO. Seriously, everything Dan talks about like what he couldn’t do I am currently in that stage and it’s awful to not to be there physically and sometimes mentally for my daughter. There’s other things I’m trying off Dan and Andrea’s advice as well to help me right now and not my future. Everybody, never forget Andrea in your prayers either please. She has her own medical problem that’s not for me to speak on but she’s does a ton for her own message but finds time to talk with Dan and I about AA and what worked, what didn’t and alternatives. What the doctor said on this or that. One product she suggested and I had already been thinking about so when I heard it helped Dan and Andrea I bought some that day. Still too soon for an evaluation but I’m going to stick with it I think. Just don’t ever forget Andrea’s voice as I have confidence in both their recommendations as they’ve worked significantly with me. Dan of course needs help and Omeo is an awesome looking product that is providing not only the physical help but as well as the mental as well. Cheers to Omeo for helping the entire Kotter family.

A lot of people don't know that "wheelchair mom" is also living with a disabling disease. The two fight any and every odd on the daily! Dan, to hear about the run and see the look on your faces is beyond beautiful! So happy for you guys! We may see all the "rainbows and unicorns" but they will tell you that life has not been easy at all! None of us know how many lives they've changed BUT it's personal to me because I AM one of those lives!

I am so very happy for the whole family. This new chair will give Dan so much more freedom to do so much. And to have the ability to run and plays sports with the children. What a joy its going to be.
Technology has come a very long way. This chair out works a regular huge bulky motorized wheelchair.
I have tears of joy seeing this , and I pray this technology will enrich more and more folks to have a much richer quality of life.

Can you or have you guys done a video about Dan’s pain management? I remember y’all mentioned it was hard to find understanding prescribers, but without knowing more of the details it’s hard to understand why. Ex addict here so no judgement just super curious what you have found that can even touch pain like that.
