As a heads up, you should probably mention proper PPE in the way of wearing a respirator when doing this. Especially when sanding (and it looks like you're dry sanding on top of that) resin.

Wow! This was great and I instantly subscribed. Just got into the mechanical keyboard hobby and this is what I want to learn. Living in Portugal, I have a feeling it'll be expensive to get the vacuum pot and tools. But I'll definitely be checking out more of your videos and give it a try.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but you can avoid the keycap melting if it's not ABS and made of PBT instead. ( Assuming you weren't making a mold and working with clay as a finished product)
5:05 That Lego and Tuck Tape is actually a very material saving method, which is good. You only really waste the Tape and not the whole form. 👍 But doesn't Epoxy have a chance to break on you?
Silly question, but say you sell something like this. Specifically using things that are normally branded like the “blue shell” would you need to pay some sort or royalties?
Super helpful video. I'm looking to get into Artisan cap creation and I just had a few questions. For one, I'm going to clay and mold making route for now, so my question is, what would a good degassing pot be that's not super expensive? There's one on eBay for around 120-130. But that seems kind sketchy to me lol.... I'm it looking for it to blow up. As far as the silicone and resin. What would you recommend for both? My first cap I have planned isn't super detailed but I'm sure they will be later on, once I get the hang of this. Thanks man!
Hey there Dustin, that's awesome that you're looking to get into Artison keycap creation! For vacuum chambers, we typically recommend checking out Best Value online but you should also be able to find them on Amazon or in your local hardware store. As far as silicone and resin it kind of just depends on what you're looking to make - will the keycaps be clear? Will they be really detailed characters? Will you be adding color, glitter, or additives? We would recommend reaching out to our technical services team at info@alumilite.com with some more details about your project and they can help you choose the right products for what you need!
Hey Guys I needed help with Anne Pro 2 keyboard (60% keyboard): I need a Portuguese keyboard, but doing so I don't have the functions on the side of those keycaps. So my point is, where can I got to, to order custom backlit keys, in Portuguese, backlit but have the side functions on them?

A for effort, but there are better ways to learn how to do this. Feel free to reach out to some established Artisan keycap makers for future cap making content.

It'd likely lose its shape! It also wouldn't be reusable.
